I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the room, although small, was nicely decorated and clean.
However, there was a major downside: the room was not soundproof at all. I could easily hear the TV from the neighboring rooms, which often felt like it was right next to me. Additionally, I could hear when other guests used their showers or toilets, which significantly disrupted my ability to relax and sleep. This lack of soundproofing was a considerable inconvenience and detracted from the overall comfort of my stay. If noise levels are a concern for you, I would recommend looking into alternative accommodations or bringing earplugs.

It was clean, comfortable and so close to the old town of Matera. I loved the fact that we could find free parking just under the accommodation, considering that everywhere in Italy you have to pay for parking. Good shower, too, with hot running water and strong pressure.
It was a bit dark, not much natural light coming in, but it didn't bother me since we were out all day.

The location for the old city was great. Parking is always going to be an issue, but if you drive around you will find a place.
We had issues with the shower and hot water, sometimes it was excellent and on other occasions it ran out very quickly.

A location was perfect - just a little distance from the old town. Peaceful quiet street without noise and crowd. Rino is perfect host. He cares about guests well. We arrived later than expected, and he waited for us near accommodation. He answered all the questions and advised the best touristic routes. Accommodation is great, clean and lovely managed. We really relaxed there. Towels and linen are white and soft About breakfast. There is coffee machine with capsule coffee, tee choice, Nutella and jam, cakes, milk, jogurt, butter. Enough for quick breakfast before exploring the city
It was exhausting to reach Matera from Bari. Google map does not offer direct routes, and we spent more than a half of day for a way. However, there are direct Marinobus and intercity train between Bari and Matera with commuting time about 1hour. Try to find these options and save your time.

Beautiful place with easy walking to the historic stone city and also to the modern city center. The host was friendly and very helpful.
There was some noise of renovations in the building early in the morning.

Angelo-the host was very responsive and helpful. He helped to find a parking spot nearby. Regarding the hotel, location is great, enables parking without the entering the historic centre traffic and walk there easily. The room is also very clean and comfortable. A very nice shop for good food nearby the hotel is 'Zuzù', at via Piave, for olives, fruits, snacks, cheese etc... Matera is excellent in many aspects if you are interested in history, culture, food, sociology, nature, archeology, peasant/rural life, religion history (paganism-early christianism, orthodoxy impact..)... I strongly advise to make some search about Matera region and decide some higlights upfront . Christ stopped at Eboli (book by Carlo Levi and movie with same name) may be a good start. Matera is perfect for photography from all points, hills, caves, historical buildings, valley.. I suggest not to miss Sasso Caveoso region of Matera. Among other food, local bread and fava are delicious. At Il terrazino we had several delicious food, at da Nico we ordered only fava and it was also delicious. Overall the prices in museums, restaurants, shops etc are normal, considering it is a touristic place... Regarding museums: at Museo nazionale you can see photographs and large scale painting by Carlo Levi. At Casa Noha you can watch a very good documentary about Matera. There are several cave-museums which explains how people used to live such as casa grotta do vico Solitario, casa grotta del Casalnuovo etc. Santa Maria de Idris was also a small but nice museum-cave church. There are various other museums which looks interesting...We didn't find time unfortunately but it seems frescoes at Cripto del Peccato Originale (~13km) are definitely worth seeing. I would like to visit Matera again someday.
