Check in was a breeze, directions were excellent, room was very comfortable and quiet. They stored our luggage during the day. Perfect if you want to be close to the Vatican

This was not quite what I expected (expected more hotel-ish) but we were warmly greeted by a resident of the building. Popes window (Francesco) nicely accommodated our early arrival. Nice size room and super clean. It has a neighborhood feeling with small market, laundry, Gelato shop across the street.. Great resaurants on the same side of the street as hotel. Very important if you are not familiar with the crazy traffic. You are a 5 minute walk to the Vatican thru a pedestrian tunnel. We felt safe . We made arrangements with popes window for taxi to cruise ship. Taxi/driver was lovely.

Everything! The welcome started before we even arrived. Paola contacted us before we left Scotland to ask if there was anything she could assist us with in our arrival to Rome. She was there to greet us and give us informative information on local travel, eateries and the best places to get tours. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. All the essentials were provided for to make travel light. The location was in the heart of the Vatican City and we felt safe navigating around after dark. We booked this accommodation after reading fellow travellers reviews and couldn’t be more pleased with our choice.

Really great location, right next to Vatican. Everything is very much reachable by walking from here. Also several bus lines start right from there to take you to city center and around all sights. We had very good pillows and a proper hair dryer in our room which made the stay definitely much more enjoyable than in most other hotels - it’s the small things ;) Best Part was our awesome host, Francesco! He was exceptionally helpful, available for any kind of question throughout the entire time (not just during our time at the hotel/B&B) and helped us even far beyond with logistics planning to get to the airport in the middle of the night for an early flight!

I loved the space and its location! We were right by the Basilica and a short walk to the Vatican and Sistine Chapel. Additionally, the place is very close to bus stops to take you around the whole city. The nearby restaurants were very lively as well, making this trip very easy!

There were hidden fees we wish were included in the listing cost. We needed to pull out additional euros in cash for the tourism fee instead of paying it within our booking... hmmm. We know about the tourism fee, many places have it (ex: Barcelona) but nobody has ever handled it like that with us, they add it to the lodging cost and make it simple to submit payment. We were also messaged about this fee on the way to the place... so we felt a bit hustled. Other than that, the space was clean and I have little bad to say about the place.

The location to Vatican City is excellent and public transportation is easily accessible. Groceries are available right across the street and several nice restaurants are within walking distance. Paola arranged our transportation from the airport, met us at the door upon arrival and made sure we were situated in our room felt comfortable and overall was a great hostess.

The Pope’s Window has become our favorite place to stay in Rome. It’s located just a few minutes from Vatican City, directly across the street from a supermarket, and surrounded by nice restaurants. We stayed in the Shangri-La room which was spotless. The Wi-Fi was easy to connect to, the room was air-conditioned and had a little refrigerator. Francesco exceeded our expectations, allowing us to store our luggage after checkout in the morning while we attended the papal audience. He also arranged for a taxi to pick us up and take us to the airport. He really went out of his way to make sure we felt at home and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay in Rome. We will stay here again and highly recommend The Pope’s Window.

Beautiful accommodation, very clean, comfortable bed, everything you need for a few days to explore the city. Everything is close by walking, but the bus is also in front of the door, so in a few stops you are in the heart of the city and it is very easy to find your way around. Paola will explain everything to you, she's wonderful. A large supermarket is just a few minutes' walk away, and there are local restaurants for food and drink on the street itself. Bus 64 goes directly to Termini and piazza Venezia. I highly recommend this apartment with balcony...Only one balcony so book early :)

There was no breakfast, but it wasn't a problem. The location and the streets surrounding the apartment was super. Not noisy at all, not too many tourists around. The room: the bed is of quality, big enough, convenient. The balcony overlooking the Pope's Window (really) gives an extra hint. We felt safe, Francesco gave us information or helped us when we needed it.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at The Pope's Window. I reserved this hotel in late August 2023 for an early January 2024 short stay before our Med cruise. Our host Paola was extremely responsive from the very beginning--arranging transportation, answering questions here and there over the interim months, etc. On day of arrival she provided clear and concise instructions and (amazingly) our driver met our group of weary travelers with our name on a sign/ amongst thousands of travelers, within minutes off the plane. The hotel is charming, classic Italian, roomy and comfortable (true to the pictures on website). Within walking distance to Saint Peter's Square and Basilica (5-8 min) and a short 20 min by foot to Pantheon/Trevi Fountain and a bit further to Piazza Navona, Paola provided invaluable restaurant and touring recommendations, and is a true pleasure to meet. We will come to stay again. Grazie mille!
