Lovely hosts and a surprise to stay in such an unusual setting. Not what we were expecting but a pleasant surprise to stay in a charming and elaborate palace that had been in the family for years. Buffet breakfast laid out in the huge charming kitchen with a friendly dog and cat! A comfortable bathroom with all the modern equipment and yet still in the style of the house/palace which was also a museum. We enjoyed our stay and also it was ideal for our stopover in Tirano and would recommend this property. We also enjoyed a nice meal in the restaurant at the end of the street.

The room was a little cold at first but we were given extra blankets and covers and so were toasty warm in bed. We felt the hosts were happy to help out with anything we needed.

„Palazzo Lambertenghi“ is a Renaissance-style private Palace and museum right in the old town/town centre of Tirano! It’s an impressive building with beautiful period interior - very tastefully furnished! Next door to Palazzo Salis, also a beautiful palazzo in Renaissance style… Niccolo, the friendly and welcoming host/owner, his wife, their cute little son & the sweet dog are the hosts and take absolutely best care of their guests. They recommended 2 restaurants nearby, which were both simply outstanding with really good food and drink - and just around the corner! In the morning they offer a fantastic breakfast in the old kitchen with delicious products of regional origin. There is home-made bread, fresh fruit, cheese & cold cuts, jam, fantastic Cappuccino and juice. What more could one ask for?! The bedrooms are incredibly beautiful with their period-furniture and you truly feel like a Duke or Count yourself when residing in there! All contemporary luxuries like nice shower and bath, bath robes & slippers as well as nice toiletries are all on offer! I felt really sorry to have only 2 nights at this fantastic accommodation!

To my taste, the bed was just way too soft! But that is just my personal taste… Otherwise there was nothing I could complain about.

This centuries old house is the most unique place I have ever stayed! Everything about my room was special from the wood in the ceilings, walls & floors to the furniture and antique objects. Fabulous! The bathroom was also wonderful with an old tub and a modern, freestanding shower. The bed was comfortable as was everything else. The owners were very kind and personable and provided a good breakfast, and the location was a convenient 10-minute walk from the train station. I highly recommend staying here!

The house is a wonderful place to stay and is a treasure trove of cherished items from another time. Everywhere you turn there is something to delight the eye. Such lovely surroundings with colour and artwork on each floor. We were welcomed and treated like special guest by Martine and Nicolò and our room was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was delicious with a wide choice of cheeses, pastries and ham. The whole place is beautiful with the kindest of hosts.

We liked everything but maybe next time we’d choose a lower floor with less stairs all though the hosts are always willing to help with luggage. We were travelling light so it wasn’t a problem.

WOW! What an amazing place to stay. Definitely the best place I have stayed. Niccolo and Martina are amazing hosts and it was wonderful to hear about the history of the property and I recommend having the breakfast. It is perfectly placed about a 15 minute walk from the Bernina Express station so if you are looking for somewhere to stay that matches, if not improves on the fantastic views you will have seen from the train, this is it!

Nothing. It was all lovely!

This is a hidden gem. We felt like royalty. The rooms were decorated with period furniture that made us feel like guests in a royal castle. Beautiful rooms with castle like charm. The property is an 8 minute walk to the train with multiple options for dining. Breakfast offers organic fruit from private orchards, fresh breads and breakfast cakes. Local meat and jams as well. Simple but exceptional quality. We were sad to move to our next destination and are looking forward to a longer stay the next time we travel through Tirano.

Amazing historic property in the old part of Tirano, which was very charming. The palazzo has a lot more character than any hotel. We appreciated several small amenities such as robes provided. Niccolo answered all our questions about the palazzo and agreed to hold our luggage for a few hours after checkout so that we could see more of the town before getting on a train.

One of us had a shower that wasn't hot enough, maybe because it was too soon after someone else showered?

What was not to like? It is absolutely beautiful. Full of old, authentic Italian charm. We stayed at Christmas time, and it was lovely and warm, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. My photos are blurred because I took a video rather than pictures, so that I could show the rest of my family. Honestly the photos don’t do it justice at all. Everyone’s reaction was the same, just WOW!!

Perhaps a little bit closer to the station because we had alot of luggage as we were passing through, but that would be nit picking.

If you appreciate art and architecture of the period, then this is THE place for you. Prepare to be completely blown away by the original paintings, fixtures, furniture, intricate woodwork, and craftsmanship of the 16th century era. This is not a 'B&B'... it is a MUSEUM. The hosts are descendants of the owners who have lived here for centuries. If you wonder why there are clear glass showers, picture yourself for a moment being surrounded by all the history as warm water pours down your back. Try to resist the urge to go around and explore (it's fruitless so just give in). By the way, the facilities are terrific - comfy beds, great shower, generous rooms. Our hosts were wonderful and kind, and created a delicious breakfast for our family of five.

We only stayed one night and didn't get to check out all the rooms. Our fault.

Charming as promised. We arrived on the Bernina Panoramic express and while most people head onwards to Milan, we planned to explore Tirano and return to Chur the following day. A beautiful property and very much a working family home surrounded with the most incredible historical features. We were very comfortable, Hosts were accommodating with our check in time as there was a different time on the booking than they expected. Breakfast in the family kitchen was so generous and delicious. A memorable stay in such a pretty town.
