Location is so important when travelling with family and this was a perfect close location to the station. So much so, that you can get the underground walk way from almost infromt of the hotel and walk underground if it is raining or too cold to be above ground. This place also has a nice little public bath and the room we had was Tanami mat and futon bedding so a very moderate price for a traditional experience. We recieved clean towels and Yukata each day and there were umbrellas to use on rainy days. The staff were so so friendly and helpful.

There wasnt any cold water in the lobby and we weren't sure if we could use the room's water supply to drink from. It would be nice to have had the tea and cups in the room on arrival but getting it from the lobby each time was fun for the kids as a errand.

perfect location , 5 mins walk to Kyoto station, Lawson supermarket is just across the hotel. They provides Japanese style breakfast which was tasty for us. The Japanese style room is so comfortable.

There was some miscommunication with the staff when we arrive. We've booked twin room for 2 persons but some error from booking.com showed only 1 person was booked. We've sent the email to the hotel about the error system of the website and received the confirmation email for 2 persons staying in twin room but when we arrived, the staff didn't seem to know about it and insisted that we booked for only 1 person, even we try to show the confirmation email. This is the only thing that upsetting us.

It was a novel experience for us - tatami mats and futons - but it was a great experience. I wish I had made more use of the onsen/baths - also a Noel experience only discovered on the last evening. Staff were just great and helpful in every way. I’d go back if I was staying in Kyoto again.

The location was very convenient and close to the station, and I was very appreciative of the staff helping me arrange my luggage (both sending it ahead and storing it after check-out).

The rooms were traditional, futons were comfortable Close to Kyoto station and tower, staff were friendly and polite

Bit bigger selection for breakfast, but what was offered was tasty and plentiful

Hotel was easy to find and quite near the station. We had the traditional Japanese tatami room wherein pajamas were provided for us. Futons were very comfortable as well. What I really liked was the breakfast which was exceptional.

We had to pay city tax upon arrival which was not indicated prior.

Communal bath was an excellent addition, very relaxing. Room was very spacious for Japan

No kettle in the room

Very close to Kyoto station and honganji. A lot of good food places around made it very convenient. The bath was relaxing.

The futon was very thin so it was very hard to sleep on the side. Maybe I set it wrong because it was self service.
