the amenities that were provided were great! It was nice to have options and even things like facial wash and pajamas provided. The heated floors were amazing!

we requested for the futon instead of the western beds, but the futons at the property are quite thin and it was hard to get to sleep. While the futon was thin, the comforter was really comfy. as advised by the staff, the walls of the room were pretty thin. We didnt have 'neighbours' for the first half of our stay, but when a young family moved in, we could hear their kids all night and that wasnt so pleasant. the neighbourhood is generally quiet though so the earplugs that they provide are generally for the neighbours.

Beautiful traditional inn. One weird thing about check in is that the actual inn is about 6 min walk from the reception.

The location is near the train station, but relatively far from all of the attractions to Kyoto.

Really cool and central property if you're into historical stays. It’s not a typical hotel room but more like a full house with a peaceful courtyard garden view. First, you’ll need to check in at a different location, as there’s no staff in the building where you’ll be staying, but they provide a free taxi service to the property, which is very convenient. The house spans three levels, with two bedrooms and a bathroom featuring a tub controlled by a panel (like a private onsen). There's no full kitchen, but basic amenities like a microwave are available. The design and materials are very thoughtfully chosen. The location is on a very quiet street yet still right in the middle of everything. Overall, staying in a "machiya" has been a wonderful experience.

The washing machine needed more explanation in English. The airco panel in the bedroom has a very bright light, we needed to cover it with a towel to be able to sleep - if there was a way to dim it, we unfortunately couldn't find it.

Excellent location less than 10 minutes walk from Kyoto Station.

There was so much space in this property. Spread over 3 floors. It was such a luxury to be able to sit at a table. Wet room/shower was also brilliant. The place feels brand new and traditionally Japanese all at the same time. 5 minutes walk from the train station.

There is no sound insulation. We could hear the couple next door just talking. If you got some noisy neighbours it would be a bit tricky. Also - if you smoke this place will not be for you. The hotel advise they will charge you ¥100,000 for smoking in the street outside the property.

An absolute dream. It felt like a home away from home. Checking in was easy and the taxi booked was so helpful after a long day exploring Arashiyama while the office held our luggage. The place was well heated/cooled and all the appliances worked and were pretty self explanatory. The beds were extremely comfortable, like falling into a cloud (yes, that dramatic haha). The location is perfect if you plan on frequenting the train station like we did. Food was easy to find, shopping right there—all the good stuff if you want to stick around the area. Overall, I was so sad to leave!

The bathtub was a bit of a puzzle but we made it work!

The clean toilets. The heated flooring is good for cold winter days. I love the washing machine provided in the room, easy to use. Instructions were also given in a clear folder, easy to access and understand. Staff are understanding and patient.

Nothing to complain about. Maybe give us more washing detergent instead of just 2 cos we stayed for 4 days and used the machine daily.

Had to check in at a different location, but not far from the hotel - about 20 mins walk from Kyoto station. This is only for the check in and there is a luggage service to save having to carry bags until the room becomes available.

Very comfortable and roomy apartment, with a great location just a short 10 min walk to Kyoto JR station. Check in was a breeze at the Rinn hotel and staff there was very friendly offering lots of good advice on sights to see. They also offered to help us book restaurants for dinner if we needed. Rooms were spotless clean and main bedroom beds were comfy. Bathroom and shower were very spacious and the included washer/dryer machine was a plus (they include all washing detergent, shampoo, condition, soaps, body creams etc). Kitchen is fully stocked with new appliances, if you need to cook your own meals.

Futons in the second bedroom were too thin and we had to double or even triple stack them to make it tolerable to sleep on the floor. They need to include instructions on how to use the bath tub, as I couldn't figure out how to operate it (no English instructions in their book they include to operate all the other appliances in the apartment).

beautiful, quiet setting and incredible facilities. So very spacious and comfortable.! I had a wonderful time here, truly exceeded my expectations.

I loved everything.! there were no issues with my stay. The staff were considerate and accommodating, I truly cannot complain.
