The room and facilities were exactly as shown on the website. There is a small lounge area with a small massage pad. Lounge was cosy with plenty of drinks to choose from. It was a good place to gather with friends and family after dinner. I stayed for 4N and had 4 dinners. Menu changes every day. The hotel was nice enough to refund me for the two breakfasts I cancelled. Hotel could arrange for luggage to be transferred to Kyoto station at a fee. This service is helpful as we depart Kyoto late in the evening.
The location is a bit of a distance from the train station. But it’s still manageable to walk even to places like Kyoto station and Nishiki Market. This aspect has been mentioned by some other reviewers. What I find it disappointing is the Kaiseiki dinners that didn’t look close to what was posted on the website. The food served were simple and plain looking. Perhaps even look like it’s out from the bento box. Sadly, I didn’t look forward to the dinners there.

Absolutely exceptional stay. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home. The soft smell of incense floated through the air as we were seamlessly checked in and escorted through the beautiful courtyard to our very spacious room complete with amenities such as complimentary tea, coffee, snacks and beverage fridge. The grounds are stunning and so cared for. The Kaiseki meals (including the traditional Japanese breakfasts were not only delicious, but so beautiful, I didn't want to eat them lol. Our time here was an absolute dream. If you are considering this Ryokan, do not hesitate.

The hospitality at Muromachi Yutone is exceptional. I really felt valued and cared about, versus just another customer. Everything that is provided is very thoughtful, from the towels, to the facial products in the bathroom, to the coffee and drinks in our room. I also liked the peaceful courtyard and the library room. The food though. Just spectacular. We had two dinners and two breakfasts and all of our meals were splendid and delicious. Since we had multiple dinners, the chef specifically made us something different for our second dinner. This level of care and hospitality made our stay truly memorable.
The room that we stayed in was very quaint (we loved it) but if you have a lot of large suitcases or luggage you may have more difficult time finding space for your bags.

My daughter and I had the kaiseki dinner and Japanese breakfast. It was our first time in Japan, and eating traditional meals was an exploration. Kaiseki is a traditional eight-course dinner in Kyoto, with numerous small plates featuring local and seasonal ingredients. I don't have anything to compare it to. Each course was a work of art and a taste adventure. If you're staying in a ryokan, I'd suggest introducing yourself to the traditional Japanese food. The location is on a narrow, quiet street in the city. Once you are inside the door of the ryokan, you're in a different world. The furnishings are simple and elegant; the garden is beautiful, it's quiet and relaxing. The room has its own private onsen tub for soaking-- wonderful after walking around all day. Guest are provided with robes and high quality amenities including materials for making tea or coffee in your room-- nice to sip while looking out at the garden.
I don't have any complaints. The staff was friendly and welcoming.

The authentic Japanese hospitality. All staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast and dinner in the hotel are amazing. The lady who served us food is amazing and wonderful. We love this place and feel like home. The place is cozy and friendly. The food is authentic taste. We love everything.
we stayed in the ground floor . Sometimes the noise from the door open to the common room can get in the room. However, no big deal.

**Review of Kyoto Ryokan: A Haven of Tranquility** Nestled in the heart of Kyoto, this ryokan exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived, the impeccable service and warm hospitality were evident. The staff's attentiveness ensured a seamless experience throughout my stay. The culinary journey was an absolute delight. Every meal was a masterpiece, showcasing the finest Japanese cuisine. Each dish was not only visually stunning but also bursting with flavors that transported me to the essence of Kyoto's culinary heritage. The high-quality yukata provided an authentic touch to the experience. The comfort and elegance of these traditional garments added to the overall charm of the stay, offering a glimpse into Japan's rich cultural tapestry. There was also a breathtaking garden in the center of the property. Serene and meticulously manicured, it provided a tranquil retreat from the bustling city. I found myself drawn to its beauty, a perfect spot for reflection and relaxation. Lastly, the wooden beams in the room were a significant detail, infusing a sense of traditional architecture and adding to the overall ambiance. In essence, this Kyoto ryokan is a harmonious blend of exceptional service, culinary mastery, cultural authenticity with its yukata, and natural beauty. A stay here is not just accommodation; it's an unforgettable immersion into the soul of Kyoto.

The dinner is superb. The optional wagyu was so tender, it melts in your mouth. You also can wear yukata’s while on premise for more authentic feel. The cedar soaking tubs had nice aroma. Each room has snacks, juice, beer included in the stay. The lounge is relaxing while waiting for checkin. It has view of zen garden with plenty of snacks, yea, coffee,
Unfortunately. there’s only 7 rooms so it books early. There was only 1 room that accommodated 3 people so I was forced to book 2 rooms for my family of 3.

The Japanese Cyprus bath was beautiful and very nice to relax in. The setting is so relaxing and peaceful, you really don't realise you are in a city. The staff were all so kind and went out of their way to help us. The library area is really nice with games, drinks and origami all included. The food was absolutely incredible, the dinner we had was honestly one of the nicest meals we've ever had! Cannot recommend this place highly enough. A little expensive but worth every penny!

We stayed 2 nights, 3 days at Muromachi Yutone. We availed of the breakfast and dinner preparations. We had an excellent stay. The ryokan is traditional with a touch of modern design and amenities. The room is very clean and comfortable. The meals prepared by the chef were excellent. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Fujki, in particular, was super helpful. The location is perfect, located in a quiet neighborhood of Kyoto and yet a comfortable walk to downtown. Access to public buses and subway is a convenient. We would not hesitate to come back and stay again. Thank you for a wonderful Kyoto experience.

This is a truly extraordinary ryokan! My son and I came here at the end of a two week trip to Kyoto. It was welcoming, relaxing, and just what we needed after many days of walking and traveling! The bed was so comfortable and the amenities outstanding. The huge shower and cedar tub for soaking helped to refresh me after such a busy trip. They offered snacks, beverages and even Nespresso coffee and tea. We were given yukatas to wear during our stay. The staff was so friendly and helped us find a great restaurant first dinner. The breakfast was very ample and delicious here. You will love this beautiful ryokan!
Can't think of anything! It was a lovely stay!
