The single rooms in the female dormitory were nice! They were quite small but this is a hostel so I wasn’t expecting anything massive, and I found that I actually really liked the size as it felt cozy. The room had a wardrobe to hang your clothes, a small table nook with a mirror and a futon style bed. The facilities were very well maintained, and were practically spotless. They provided a lot of extra amenities, such as face wash, makeup remover, instant soup, tea etc. Hair dryers and straighteners were also available. A washer and dryer were also available, with detergent and fabric softener already added. They weren’t expensive to use, and cleaned and dried my clothes well. The location was quite convenient, as buses to a lot of tourist attractions stopped near the hostel. There was a train station around 8 mins away, and Kyoto station was also only a 10-15 minute walk away. The staff were also very kind, and they can hold your luggage for you until check-in. They had even placed my suitcase in my room for me when I came back to check in! Overall, it was a lovely place to stay and I would definitely recommend it to any solo female travellers.

It was a bit of a bummer that the bidets on the toilets weren’t available for use as I got quite used to them, but it wasn’t that bad. The walls are thin but this is a hostel so that’s not a surprise, I just packed earplugs and an eye mask and I didn’t have any issues. I think you can also ask for ear plugs at reception. Pyjamas aren’t provided so make sure to bring some. Towels also aren’t provided but but they can be rented for 100 yen (one time payment). The pillow was much flatter than what I’m used to but it didn’t really cause any problems.

The hostel was furnished with everything you may need, and also, thanks to the curtains around the bed everyone had its own privacy despite being 4 in a room. The owner and the staff were very hospitable. The place is close to the train station and to several bus stop to reach everywhere in Kyoto and even Nara and Osaka by train. Plenty of shops and bars and restaurants in the area.

There are plenty of charging plugs, even USB, however none is close to the beds. This minor thing is the only problem I had.

Very clean, good facilities (such as free coffee, tea, and miso soup) as well as a full bathtub. Good privacy compared to other hostels where you have your own private room, despite it being small, even though the price point was not too different to regular bunk bed type hostels.

Because the walls were all wooden, there were times when you could hear a lot from the adjacent rooms which would echo around your own room, which was unavoidable because these noises were just things like walking or making a bed. It was also a little bit far to walk from the main centre of Kyoto, but public transport access was very quick and clear to understand.

The hostel is really cute (it’s a wooden building) and really clean. It was a really comfortable place to stay at. It was nicely located with easy access to every places I wanted to go thanks to the bus stop, the train stations and the metro station all close by (less than 10min walk). The staff were all really nice. The amenities were nice, there was shampoo, conditioner and body gel for free as well as a hair dryer. The room was small but I was able to fit both my check-in luggage and my carry-on in the closet. It was really calm and I could sleep easily. I stayed in the woman only building and I felt very secure. I would come back the next time I come to Kyoto without hesitation.

Be aware that there is only a narrow staircase to the upper floor where most of the room are, so prepare yourself if you bring a big luggage.

The single room I stayed in was very nice, especially for the price! The shower is clean, and there's plenty of free amenities (shampoo, face wash, curler, etc.). The hostel is a short walk to Kyoto and Shichijo station, which is convenient. The Kamo River is also nearby, which makes for a lovely evening walk! Overall, I'd stay here again if I were in Kyoto :)

The futon can be a bit uncomfortable if you're not used to that. There's also a busy street nearby, so you'll hear many sirens and bike engines at night. The hostel does provide ear plugs, but they can only do so much.

It’s a small simple place that is really clean, quiet, safe, and just far enough away from the busy areas that the streets aren’t crowded. It’s a short walk to the Keihan line (shichijo station) and a slightly longer walk to Kyoto central station.

The futon mattress is a cheap low structure soft foam mat so you can really feel the floor (it offers less support than a school gym mat). For a short stay, I don’t think it would be a problem. But it’s something to be aware of if you’re prone to back pain, injury, elderly, etc.

The common area was really spacious and was equipped with everything you needed. It had a tiny kitchen and enough toilets and showers. Everything was really clean and comfortable

The rooms were really really small not perfect for people with huge luggage. The safes were too small for anything other then wallets and the stair up to the room was really steep and small. Big too bad bit a bit dangerous to climb up with luggage

Really cool place with very helpfull staff. Though the room is tiny, it still worked out wonderfully. I could even store my really big suitcase next to the counter as it would not fit into the room. Bus just round the corner, as well as a conbini. Would definitly come here again. Only heads up: As the walls a very thin, everybody has to be quiet, to not disturb the other guests. But during my stay this was not an issue at all.

10-15 minutes to Kyoto station. Only stairs if you are in 2nd floor.the shower, kitchen, washroom is clean and quite good. Staffs are nice. Shared bathroom, but quite convenient. Some lovely restaurants nearby.

Sound proof not very good. You will hear streets and neighbours in your room. Some guests during my stay were talking loudly around 1am which is annoying.

Great location. Close to everywhere and a 10-minute walk to Kyoto Station. The staff are lovely and very considerate. I feel safe and find it very convenient. Definitely worth staying. I'd love to book again

The toilet on the 2nd floor plays music every time people are in it. It is a bit awkward because it catches my attention, no matter how much I try to ignore it.
