This was probably the best hostel I've ever stayed in! The owner was very warm and welcoming, and the facilities were top notch. Everything was spotless and looked very new. The beds had extra space at the foot to keep your bags, as well as a locker right there with a padlock provided. The beds were comfy and roomy. Of course it's a hostel with three other people, but it felt like I had so much room and privacy that I wish I could've stayed longer. Well located, too; a quick walk from anything you want to do in the city.
Nothing.

Perfect for my quick trip to Takamatsu! I've stayed in a variety of guesthouses in Japan before but this one had some extra touches that made my stat that much more comfortable. I had a top bunk and was pleasantly surprised to see how roomy it was, the extra space added at the foot of the bed was just what I needed to spread out and get myself organized without having to crawl up and down out of my bunk. The little safe for my valuables meant that I didn’t have to carry around everything and I could still have peace of mind. I was in a 4 person women-only dorm which ended up being a good number for a shared room. It wasn't too cramped and there wasn't too much noise made by people coming and going. The guesthouse had also prepared a local map with all of the important things such a closest convenience stores and groceries, as well as recommended restaurants. Thanks to this, I spent zero energy trying to find a place to eat at on my second night there and was able to have an excellent meal. The lady who checked me in also recommended a park light-up event that was going on in the area. I had no idea about it but I'm glad she brought it to my attention so I would be able to good. The common space lounge was the perfect, quiet place for me to unwind and write some postcards on my last night.
There was only one toilet and shower for the floor. Definitely not a deal breaker and I had no problems accessing the amenities when I wanted to, but I could see there being a line up at peak times.

The dormitory bed was exceptionally spacious and included a small dresser/locker and stool. In addition, the kitchen has everything needed to cook during a short stay; I used it often during my week in Takamatsu.
The sink and shower area sometimes was less clean than other places, although this was never a significant problem.

The owner is super, super friendly. She speaks well english, tell you the best things to do in Takamatsu and always very helpful. The hostel has such a nice ambiente. Everything is so cozy, silent, beautiful and soft. I really enjoyed it there. Especially the beds. Also you have a little kitchen with free water and tea. Also a beautiful common area. Around there is a shopping street. The Ritsurin is very close, the port 30 minutes by walk.
Nothing! Booked another night 😁

Tidy and welcoming hostel. Facilities were clean and easy to access. The bunk beds in the dormitory room were surprisingly spacious and comfortable, with room for luggage. Close to the shopping district. The restaurants recommended by the manager were all fantastic.
A good ~25min walk from Takamatsu station, where you'll likely be arriving. Local guests mostly keep to themselves, although this seems common in Japan.

Ten to Sen is located in a great spot, just off the main shotengai in a quiet alleyway. Plenty of food nearby, and the nearest train station (Kawaramachi station) is only a 5 min walk away. Check-in was pleasant and fast, and the staff was very friendly and understanding even though we arrived almost close to 10pm (that's the cut off time for check-in). As highlighted by the guesthouse itself, it is stairs only! A small inconvenience considering the price and location. We took the private twin room on the 4th floor, and it was very cosy, spacious, and most importantly clean! Comfy bed and pillows made for a restful sleep, and the toilet/shower area was always neat and well maintained. A really important thing for my partner is having a hot shower, and that was not an issue at all at Ten to Sen. Constant temp hot water after a long day of walking/exploring is very therapeutic =) All in all, a great stay! Highly recommend to travellers heading to Takamatsu. Thanks again for making our stay a memorable one!
None!

Very nice guesthouse, located in the center of Takamatsu. Only minutes away from the shopping street nearby, and about 15 minutes from the stunning Ritsurin Garden. The staff was able to speak English well enough for me to be able to check in easily. They even gave me a map of the city center with a whole lot of restaurant, cafe, and bar recommendations featuring the local food of Takamatsu.

Great location, the guesthouse is small but so confortable ! Dormitory is just 4 spacious individual beds, this is amazing. Also, great host, who gives a lot of good recommendation around for restaurants and places to have drink. Would definitely recommend and come back ! +++

The owner is awesome and very kind. It was the best hostel in my 4 week Japan journey. Hostel is well kept, even though it's not brand new, it's clean and feels like home. All evenings when I stayed there, I was able to have chats with other guests, very nice social environment (and not a party house).
Nothing! Owner prepared awesome list of food places, I didn't like the "analogue" paper map, so I converted it to Google maps - you can find it here: bit.ly/tentosenfood I shared it with the owner, a she put it next to reception window. 🥰

Cosy environment with heated/air-conditioned rooms. Private rooms are comfortable and a good price, kitchen and common room were useful, there was also tourist information about possible daytrips around Takamatsu. Staff were very helpful at check-in and even pointed us to a great local restaurant.
Only issue was that the hallways were cold, especially at night and first thing in the morning. Only one shower, toilet and sink on each floor but but we didn't have any problems accessing them.
