Both breakfast and dinner were kaiseki style. Amazing quality. For breakfast the last day we had 13 things. Absolutely beautiful in the way they were arranged on individual serving dishes....no two alike. We ate in our own little room, with a big window looking out on the Japanese garden and blooming cherry tree. We stayed in a Japanese style room with tatami mat floors, and they put out the futon while we were at dinner, and put them away during breakfast. The shuttle runs to the train station twice an hour, making it easy to visit the Ise Shrine. The staff was pleasant and helpful and professional and spoke some English. I absolutely would recommend this place.

At age 78, the futon were a little more firm than I remember from 50 years ago. We had practiced getting up off the floor, not to be taken for granted at our age. Still we slept well.

We booked this hotel for three nights at the end of a very busy fortnight touring. It provided the rest and relaxation we hoped for. The hotel had a lounge area with plenty of seats and sofas, something lacking in all hotels we stayed in previously. The onsen experience was unique and traditional. The traditional Japanese breakfast was a great experience, although we used the sister hotel (a five minute walk away) for the buffet style breakfast and French dinner restaurant for the other days. The spa room in the sister hotel had a beautiful view and the treatments were excellent. The staff were polite and helpful.

The bath was tiny, even by Japanese standards. We took advantage of an ‘eco- friendly’ offer not to have our rooms cleaned or towels changed for our three day stay, which meant we received a Y4000 voucher to be used against our final bill. However, we didn’t realise the tea and bottled water would not be refilled either.

The service from the staff was immaculate with attention to every small detail. They were nice enough to take care of my luggage before i checked in and brought it directly to my room when i returned to check in. The was a nice welcome cheese cake and tea during check in as well as roasted marshmallow and coffee later in the evening. Dinner and breakfast was quite tasty and i enjoyed them. The view from my room was nice especially in the morning as i could see the sun rise, a perfect way to start the day. The "pearl aurora" outdoor onsen was amazing, it made my skin actually glitter because of all the pearl powder which was honestly a little bit funny.

Quiet with a nice view. Have drinking water, snacks and welcoming cake in the room. Staff are polite and responsive. Have a gift shop, onsen, ice cream and milk vending machine. Also have mesh-mellow bbq at night with coffee and tea. The breakfast is also fantastic!

The beds come with an edge and could be too close to the wall. So have to be careful cause I had a fall in the room thinking I had reached the edge of the bed forgetting there was an extra wooden edge at the end of the bed.

A perfect-sized resort. Large enough to have excellent facilities while small enough to feel welcoming and intimate. The teppanyaki meal, cooked for you personally by a master chef in a private room, was a highlight. All the meals were delicious. A very brief taxi ride (or even a ten-minute walk) from Toba station, easy to get to the aquarium and Mikimoto Pearl Island. Onsen facilities were clean and relaxing. Reciprocity with the nearby International hotel - you can choose to head there for Western breakfast or French dining and the hotel will shuttle you over free of charge. Highly recommended.

We really liked this hotel. The rooms are spacious and have a nice view. The staff was very helpful, specially the reception team. Helped us with car booking and recommended really good restaurants, one nearby. The Onsen is fantastic.

Like all the hotels in this area it is reachable only by car. It is a 5 min the shuttle service ride away from the main train station. Or you can take a taxi. But the shuttle is frequent. 2 runs per hour.

There is free shuttle service to pick up and drop of from Toba station. Wonderful staff and wonderful dinner. Is a wonderful place if you want to escape from city. Big and spacious room.

I am not able to get a slot for Pearl spa, which is the purpose of this trip. Is advisable to book the slot earlier, but not upon arrival. Luckily my room have a private onsen that we can enjoy as a family in private to replace the Pearl spa.

The onsen was great - love the toiletries from Mikimoto. Also, the foot massager in the female onsen changing room. Meals were nice but not exceptional.

Cost performance - room amenities could be improved (nothing to delight your customers - all very standard amenities). I guess for the price we are paying (premium), we would expect some pleasant surprises. The hotel can improve on this.

The onsen was excellent, especially the outdoor stone onsen. The staff was very helpful. Before bedtime, they helped us to prepare our futon bed. The Japanese breakfast was delicious and nicely served. We had a room with tatami with ample space. The children loved it a lot. There was a shuttle bus driving between the train station and the hotel. It was very convenient.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to use the onsen with a small tattoo, not even when taped. While this may be expected, we would have liked to know in advance. We could not find it anywhere on the website whatsoever. We of course respect the rules and do not use the onsen. We were charged an onsen tax when we left, even though we were not allowed to use the onsen..
