I loved the ambiance of the house, it's very cozy. It's not in Central Tokyo, but it's a really nice change of pace. Check in was easy. I thought that the bunkbed wasn't made, and someone came over to check it for us, but it was made, just differently from what we were used to. The bunkbed is great if you travel with someone who snores.
This was not the fault of the host: There were noisy people in the other room, talking and laughing until past midnight. If you want to be loud, this isn't the right place to stay. Also the airco was difficult to figure out, but it did work!

The convenient location for even two train stations and affordable restaurants close-by to the stations. Friendly staff, although most of them don't speak English. A shared shower and toilet on both floors.
The kitchen is not tidy and spacious because some guests do use it for cooking. When they are busy, the others don't have enough room to make a cup of tea or coffee. The matrass is not hard or good enough for my back.

I extended my stay from one night to another four nights!! The house is comfortable, feels just like home. I recommend for a short and long term stay. My room is located near the entrance door, it’s very large. There’s a public bath and laundry nearby. Also there’s a cute cafe in front of the house, very cozy. The owner is very polite and accommodative. I met her once in the morning. Thank you very much!!
If you have big and heavy suitcases, be prepared for the walk. However, it’s a nice neighborhood.

This is a true hidden gem. Maybe the best place I've stayed in Japan -- certainly the best value. The house has a very charming old/classic look with beautiful wood used throughout, but importantly the kitchen and bathroom areas are updated and modern -- everything works very well. Great extra orange lamp in my room. Rooms were very tastefully decorated in the traditional style. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, and will happily help you out. The neighborhood is astoundingly quiet and tranquil. Quaint bath house a block away. The heater/aircon unit was a bit confusing, so I recommend asking how to use that properly.

The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. It is small and cozy but has everything needed. The bathroom and toilet was very clean. Kaoru was so helpful with the check-in and adjustments to my schedule as well as requests from my side. 1000% recommend.
The walls are a bit thin, I was lucky to not have direct neighbors in the first nights, but otherwise you would hear someone showering/using the bathroom, at day it didn’t bother me.

The staff was amazing, kind, and curteous. The location was super close to the station, and not terribly far from too much, but I did get in 20,000 steps a day while I was there. Check in was easy, but be wary, google maps has the wrong address. Someone local showed me the way. Check out was even easier, just handed off my keys and left. Close to many convenience stores and restaurants, I reccomend the ones close to the station. There was a figure shop that sold buildable models. Nice place and good prices. I got an edo castle model for about 10 usd.
Staff got in around 11am every day, so if you need to check out sooner than that, youll have to just wait.

Hostel Hana An is a traditional Japanese house in a quiet neighbourhood not far from central Tokyo, like Shinjuko. If you like cooking breakfast, you will get a kitchen and fridge, and the toilet is shared. Modern Japanese toilets and showers are lovely. There are convenience stores nearby, and you can borrow their bikes to cycle around the area. Awesome value for money.
The place is self-check-in, which is perfectly fine. However, the host on Booking pushed us to arrive before 10 pm. Our flight was coming late, so we were concerned about enjoying a bit of the city first. Although it's not far from the centre, Tokyo is massive, which means a couple of hours commute both ways. Ultimately, we insisted on checking in after 10 pm, which was fine. Also, I noticed that other people would check in late, so it's normal but not preferred by the host, which could jeopardise your plans. So definitely, ask if you need to check in later.

Our first accommodation in Japan. and it was clean, comfortable and friendly. I had an amazing start to my strip. The locality is quite and safe. and you have access to stores and facilities at walking distance. train network was at a walking distance. Worth the experience. Great host. very friendly and very hard working.
Bit too far from the city center. so commute becomes a bit longer to reach any desired destination. At the end of the day, when you are exhausted with your travel/sight seeing/partying... it is just taxing to take that ride back home.

Beautiful working class Tokyo neighborhood, very close to the Kanamachi station (like 7 minute leisurely walk), super clean rooms (all AC), Strong Wifi, and just really good, cozy vibes
The only 1 thing is the woman who checked us in doesn't speak English, even though she is a super sweet woman, and you can easily use google translate. Still i would have loved to connect more with her, as he was so sweet, kind, and helpful. The owner does speaks perfect English over the phone and while corresponding on the app.
