We stayed at Koimala for a few weeks as we had our annual leave and wanted somewhere warm to escape South Island winter (New Zealand )for a bit. They had upgraded our room for free of charge and we ended up staying in one of their nicest rooms with balcony and jacuzzi tub on the deck. The staff at Koimala were all wonderful. They were always smiling and friendly, very professional and humble. We had breakfast included every morning which was always something we looked forward too. Dinner and lunch was amazing. Rippon was an amazing guide, he took us to see whale sharks, turtles and sandbank trip. Thank you Rippon and the guy that drives the boat for all the amazing adventures, really made our stay special. Food and beverage staff are amazing too, thank you Kalchan and the other two guys who were always there serving. Huge thank you to the manager for upgrade etc. We can’t thank everyone enough for making our stay enjoyable. The accommodation is about five minutes walk from bikini beach. If you’re looking to experience local Maldives and do activities for very affordable price this is the place to go.

100%! Absolutelly satisfied with such hotel facility as well as the whole personell. The room was modern, very clean and comfortable, much more than we even expected. Moreover, there was possibility to borrow bikes for free, the snorkling equipment too, so no own things needed. Beautiful Island with magnifique (calm !) beaches, if you are truly not lover of crowded places you will find this as a huge advantage as we did. Special ackowledgement for Ripon, whose approach had been priceless, very helpful and willing. Although the weather was not always optimal, he did his best to take us for a snorking trip. The food was always tasty and well prepared. 10/10

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The island people are also very nice and friendly. WiFi is good. Perfect location right in the centre of town. Relaxing and quiet.

We didn't care for the food, but this isn't just the hotel food. The food everywhere on the island is limited and not the best for healthy eating. The flies are a problem. You need to understand that the island is not a resort. You are living with the locals and as they do. The island has a way to go with helping with the environment and protecting their main tourist industry.

Best services ever. The staff is really friendly and makes you feel like you are part of their family. Starting with Rippath the manager that makes every desire you have possible, Ripon and Supe that make your trips unforgetable, Prem and Canja serving you the most delicious food and the rest of the staff that assures you have clean room and towels everyday. A big thanks and hope seeing you soon. The island and the people are really nice, you have shops for almost everything you want and the bikini beach is amazing and they are still improving it. The lagoon is from other planet(especially if you swim in the middle of the night). Totally recommend! You won't regret it.

Nothing bad to say

I absolutely enjoyed the stay at Koimala Hotel. I felt very welcomed right from the beginning. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful , making sure every detail of the stay was perfect. The room was clean and spacious. The location is good and you can easily walk to the beach in 5-10 Minutes. What really stood out was the range of activities they offer. I enjoyed the turtle snorkeling tour, the Manta Safari and the Whale Shark snorkeling , which was all great!!

We had a great stay at Koimala! All staff were so friendly and helpful, with nothing too much of an ask. They organised amazing excursions for reasonable prices- we saw whale sharks, turtles and Manta rays (go pro footage was sent to us for free after!). The room was very clean and well kept and we were even offered a free upgrade for our last few nights.

The atmosphere in the hotel is great: the staff is very friendly, there's a homey vibe and he even got upgraded by the helpful manager; what else could we ask for? This is not the Hilton, but it delivers what it promises, there's even massage chairs for free. The excursions were all AMAZING, many thanks to all the staff and special thanks to Ripon, who helped us more than he is supposed to. We swam with whale sharks, dived with manta rays, saw turtles, spent hours alone on a deserted island, it was all perfect, always with a smile. The location is excellent, many shops around, walking to the wonderful and deserted bikini beach is easy, we enjoyed vicinity to El Chef restaurant, too. I can't think of a better choice, a local guesthouse that delivers. If you came that far, look no further and book.

You really have to go looking into tiny details to find something wrong, I won;t do that. We had FANTASTIC holidays and the gusthouse had a lot to do with this.

Breakfast was great. Staff were very hospitable and responsive to every queries and request. the staff made up for everything. the property owner should take care of their gems which are their staff and should also maintain the property itself.

the switching of rooms. when we arrived the room that was supposed for us is not ready. we had to move room the following day. we have made our reservation way in advance so we expect that the room meant for us should have been kept ready. the first room was really shabby and the bed was a bit worn out. also the TV is not working in both rooms we were at, it all seem to be a furniture display only. however, the unpleasant experience with the rooms were fully compensated by the hospitality of the whole staff.

We stayed at Koimala for almost 2 weeks. Maamigili is a local island so you have to respect the local’s habits. Bikinis are not allowed on the island, only at the bikini beach and Koimala has a private beach wich is under reconstruction right now, so it is not that beautiful, but you can use it, the water is great and I’m sure it will be done for the next season. When we have arrived to the island, they came to pick us up at the port, and transfered us to the hotel. We met with a warm reception. Koimala is really homy and comfortable. The rooms are big, and have AC which will be your best friend due to the hot weather. Beds are really comfy. They clean your room almost every day, so don’t have to worry about the sand:). All food is delicious, in some case the portion may be smaller but if you eat a soup or a dessert you will be full so it’s not a big deal. The staff is so helpful and does everything to make your stay a perfect time. The waiter girl is a sweetheart and smiling person and she’s really good at her job. Ripon is such a great man who always has something fun to offer you and makes amazing videos! He helps you if you have any problem and knows the ocean like the back of his hand! Please try the whaleshark and the manta ray trip, it is so much fun and an unforgatable experience I promise. Every trip is fabulous so don’t be afraid to try them! There are many shops in 1 minute walk from the hotel. The locals are friendly and kind, almost everyone speaks english. Koimala is a perfect stay if you want to experience the little island life with local people and kindness. On every maldivian island there are a lot of trash, it’s sad to see it, so please pick it up if you can and do not litter!

Nice people, a lot of attention, Maamigili Is definitlty not a place to stay, but for 2 days it was ok and the place is nice They offer us the dinner, which was really appreciat it, and also bring us to the boat !

They Overbook, found another solution to another one but with windows on the shared Space Bedroom was not that good, but stayed short Time, so it's good but not for a week
