Firstly, to be met at the airport and taxi'd to the hotel was reassuring for a Male first-timer. Even at midnight, the roads were hectic with a million scooters zipping everywhere. On arrival at Sala, Rose and Thomas were excellent and attentive guests. Though rustic, the room was very clean and comfortable and had everything needed for a good night's sleep. It was very quiet given it's urban location. Even though a busy area, Sala was off the main road that several of the hotels are on. We were too late for dinner, but i look forward to returning to try Sala Thai restaurant. The breakfast was outstanding: fresh fruit, yoghurt, a selection of fresh breads, coffee and juice in a dining setting.

A Wonderful Stay at Sala Boutique Hotel Our experience at Sala Boutique Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, Mr. Thomas, the owner, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. His dedication and passion for hospitality are evident—he personally oversees the business from 5:30 am until midnight, ensuring every guest is 100% satisfied. The staff at Sala Boutique Hotel were equally impressive—humble, empathetic, and always ready to assist with a smile. The hotel itself is a tranquil haven in the bustling city of Male. It is impeccably clean, with no noise disturbances, providing a peaceful atmosphere for relaxation. The mattress, linens, pillows, and even the toilets were of the highest standard, reflecting the hotel's commitment to quality and guest comfort. A highlight of our stay was the complimentary breakfast, which was both delicious and thoughtfully prepared. Additionally, the hotel's Thai restaurant is truly a gem in Male, offering the best Thai cuisine we have ever tasted. The chefs are experts, crafting authentic dishes that transport you straight to Thailand. The romantic ambiance of the restaurant, enhanced by soft music, dim lighting, and beautiful candles, made dining there a memorable experience. If you plan to visit Male, Sala Boutique Hotel should be your top choice. Even if you’re exploring the islands for a day pass, this hotel makes for an ideal destination. 5 star service!! The hosts Thomas and Rose are professional, friendly and very helpful, from the moment we arrived at the property we felt like we were getting the royal treatment. The rooms are simple but elegant and the furniture choices are top notch. The whole staff has an incredible knack of anticipating your wishes and is as professional as any 5 star hotel or resort we’ve stayed in. The hotel has an amazing Thai restaurant with superb food with an extensive menu. One of the best breakfasts we’ve had in many years of traveling around the world. Well done!!! Also WiFi is very fast!

The owners of the hotel are very professional and attentive. The owner greeted our taxi on arrival, (we had a return taxi to the hotel as part of our booking), took our bags and checked us in to our room. We had a really delicious and authentic Thai meal in the hotel restaurant before heading off to our room for the night. Lovely big and comfortable bed and tea and coffee facilities in the room and very clean. We were greeted with freshly brewed coffee downstairs the following morning whilst the owners called us a taxi to the airport. Breakfast was included but it was a little early for us so we declined, however various options were offered ie fruit or yoghurt instead, but we declined. Lovely hotel, very convenient for the airport and very attentive owners who clearly take great great pride in their hotel and authentic (and popular) Thai restaurant. We would definitely stay again.

There was a glass panel above the door to our room and there was a light bulb outside the door in the corridor. It made the room quite bright at night. Maybe a little curtain across this glass panel would stop the light shining into the room, or some boarding over the glass panel would make the room darker. It may not bother some people but we both like our room to be dark at night.

Do yourself a favor and fly into Male a day early and spend a night at Thomas and Rose's little Oasis in downtown Male. You'll be whisked right away from the chaos at the airport and sent in a taxi (included in the price) and Thomas will be there waiting for you when you step out. How the two of them have been able to create this lovely little guesthouse (and Thai restaurant) in the midst of the general dilapidation in Male is a great mystery. Between the lovely Thai dinner (extra) and the real German breakfast (included) it's just not to be missed. And as an added extra the ride back to the airport is also included in the price and you'll be able to get an earlier flight to your resort. Go spend a night!

No complaints whatsoever.

A quiet little hidden gem in the middle of a crazy busy city. Rooms were clean and had everything necessary. The best part by far was the host Rose who was so very pleasant and truly took care of EVERYTHING. They had someone waiting for us at the airport to transport us to hotel- complimentary. Breakfast was included and since we needed to leave early, Rose prepared us fresh fruit, yogurt and coffee at 6 am and then arranged for the taxi back to airport (also included!) The restaurant at the hotel was beautiful and delicious.

The only thing to say is that it is not a modern, standard hotel. But why would you want that in the Maldives? It was clean, charming, quiet and comfortable with everything we needed.

We arrived late at Male, so thought we would stay in the city for the night rather than take the boat directly to our resort. We booked Sala Boutique Hotel due to good reviews from TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed. The pick up at the airport was smooth and we were at the Hotel in no time. Check in was great, Rose was very polite and helpful, even at that time of the night. Overall, the room was clean and had all the basic amenities. The bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was excellent!

The aircon was a bit cold and it was located right opposite the bed, so we had it blown at our faces during the night. It was not really that bothersome but the location of the aircon could be improved. But then we slept well, nevertheless!

Location, clean room, supportive and kind owners, fresh food quality breakfast, original interior design, the Thai restaurant of top quality is a part of the hotel.

Always a pleasure to stay at Sala Boutique Hotel. Thomas and Rose, and their wonderful staff make everything run smoothly with smiles all around. With the airport ferry just an 8 minute walk away I was able to commute easily every day. During the evening you're minutes away from good food and coffee, or you can eat in if you fancy great Thai cuisine.

The lady who was our host is incredible friendly and also well organized. Also the Thai restaurant on site is fantastic and the breakfast they served us was an unexpected bonus

Rooms aren't perfectly soundproof so you will hear the call for prayer quite loudly. Also our door lock didn't work properly. Lastly I would mention that the price is quite high at 200€ per night
