We really liked Meeru Maldives Resort Island. It was our second island in the North Atoll. After the small Summer Island, we went to the “big” island of Meeru. We had 6 wonderful days here (January 20-26, 2024). We liked everything about Meeru Island. - the friendly welcome with Maldivian drums - the friendly staff at reception - the organization of the activities - the friendly staff in the restaurant - the perfect room services - the white beaches, swimming, and snorkeling - the lush vegetation, the Meeru Garden: growing your own fruit and vegetables - Breakfast, lunch, and dinner: varied, tasty, and fresh (show cooking) We particularly liked the accommodation. The beach villa with whirlpool (jacuzzi) was awesome: large room, large and comfortable bed, sitting area and a large terrace. The “open-air bathroom” in the garden was fantastic: everything open, everything free. High walls provide privacy. Mega. The room corresponded exactly to the description and the pictures on Booking.com (except for the sea view, which only a few villas (around 6-8 out of 60) have. Our beach villa was about 100 m from the beach.)

What an amazing experience! Jacuzzi Water Villa was great, the level of attention to details is something I have never experienced in other hotels. From spotlights to observe marine life at night to jars of water to clean your feet at each room entrance, everything was carefully thought. The view, bed, porch, shower, jacuzzi were all amazing. Food was delicious with a LOT of different options. Lunch was provided before check-in and after check-out which was pretty generous. A hot shower is provided after check-out if you want to enjoy the sea/pool before going back to the airport. Staff is extremelly kind and helpful, always with a smile. I really don't have much to say. It is an expensive splurge but very much worth it!

If I have to be ultra picky there are some things that we thought could be better. Toiletries could be better (no hair conditioner, comb, shaving kit, etc.). Snorkeling masks and kayaking could be free to guests even with a time restriction like 30 min/day. Paying for those activities seemed a little cheap of their part after paying a $1000+/night. For the New Year's Eve event, the gala dinner was amazing but not even a single champagne glass for a toast was provided. Also no fireworks, only a countdown on a screen which was pretty anticlimatic. I expected more for $210/person. Again, these are all minor observations with no impact whatsoever in our overall experience.

After the speedboat transfer uncomfortableness and some awkwardness around what to do with me at check in as I was on my own…….. at first I was regretting my choice of resort. Then it all changed. I was checked in by Aaish (needs a pay rise in my opinion lol) who was just the right amount of wonderful asked the right questions and advised me that I wasn’t going to continue be treated oddly for being on my own, I breathed a sigh of relief. My room was upgraded for the first night and I was allocated the adults only restaurant, so grateful for that lol From then on the experience was 10 out of 10. The young men that served me in my section of the Maalan Restaurant for each meal were wonderful, professional, friendly young men who are an asset to the resort. The food was plentiful and so many types to choose from. Any staff I encountered were lovely kind and hard working. My housekeeper did a fantastic job and he was so lovely. The guest services attendants, gardeners, chefs, bar staff etc etc etc were all amazing. I even ended up on a new speedboat on the ride back to the airport so that rounded off the trip just nicely. I had zero complaints after the initial rocky start. The island is beautiful with a lovely clean beach all the way around and many spots to snorkel. Palm trees all around crystal clear blue water. Beautiful gardens. They have a good range of activities which I didn’t participate in as I was there for down time. I did snorkel as I had my own gear but you can also buy or hire gear there. Its easy to get to as it is only an hour by speedboat from Male. The rooms had really comfy beds and all the extras like robes etc. Loved it 😊

I would have given a 10 however first impressions matter and I was treated like I was an annoyance on the speedboat transfer. I was the only one travelling alone and this to me seemed like the only reason I would be targeted and treated this way. It made the start of the trip very uncomfortable and at that stage was 100% regretting my choice.

Everything was perfect! The staff were super friendly and service was speedy. The over water villa was well equip and beautifully clean. The beaches were stunning and the pools were relaxing. There was a wide range of food options and even catered for alternative diets i.e. gluten free and vegan. Cocktails were on the all inclusive along with a wide array of other options. Everything was perfect!

The food and drinks were too good - so we ate and drank too much, and now we have to diet for several weeks!

This is really a paradise vacation with beautiful nature and beaches. For us as a family with a small kid, this was a great relax. Food is excellent, your villa is cleaned every day and staff is really nice. We'd never think to return to the same place when you have so much choice but we already came for the second time. We'd specifically like to thank to our waiter Ismail and also Hasan who often stopped by to say "Hi". They both made us feel so good and went above and beyond especially for our 2-year-old daughter. I guess it's also a good idea to separate some areas on the island in a way that some bars are not available for kids and some are. For families it's a higher chance to meet at the same place and for those who'd like to relax from kids or have fun, they can enjoy that. Prices for alcohol and cocktails are also very reasonable for a resort, below $10 for beer/wine/shots etc and just above $10 for cocktails. There are many activities we didn't have a chance to explore such as play room, golf, football, snorkelling, trips etc, so I believe people shouldn't be bored if they don't want to :) What we also liked 2 practical aspects: - Meeru is one of a very few places where we were able to cancel the booking almost until the flight departure which was something we really appreciated and one of the reasons why we chose this place - the distance from Male by speedboat is less than 1 hour - it's great that you're not too close to Male where you can often smell some unpleasant air and yet you're not too far, so the journey isn't tiring

One thing we didn't really like when visiting last time was how the doctor treated us. Now we spoke to another guests and the same happened to them while we visited Meeru this time, so I thought it's worth mentioning. I mean, it's a big plus that there's a medical center on the island but the doctor himself is a bit rude. People we spoke to this time said he was rude until they paid. Well. Other than that, nothing huge. Perhaps just a suggestion to renovate some of the villas as they become to feel a bit older but still a good standard. Some people may miss more "vibes" as there's not a lot of music during the day and on evenings this happens something like 2x a week. But this was fine from our perspective, as we could enjoy the sound of palms and ocean.

When you imagine Maldives ,you imagine this !!! This is my first time ,so i can not compare what more can you get from other resorts (maybe more activities,maybe more quality in food and more high luxury rooms) . So , 1.The resort is near Male (45 minutes with boat ) 2.The island is as big as you want ,so you can walk all the island in 1 hour with a perfect nautre inside the island 3.The adult area is seperate from family area but you can go to family area to swim in the pool 4.The sea and the marine life was great 5.The activity i went was the shark snorkelling and it was super 6.They upgraded my room ,so i took a beach room and it was amazing .....i can hear only the tide . (thank you for that) 7.The food was very good ,i paid for all meals and it was a good choice . 8.The beaches were like card postal . 9.The price !!!for maldives i believe is a good price 10.The staff was very organize for you arrival and for your departure ,so you dnt have to worry for anything 11.Wifi was very good ,not all day but i dnt have problems . Everything you want from a resort is there .

1.My 2 hours waiting in the airport (the worst airport in the world) , i was waiting a couple to arrive...so i loose 2 hours (believe me it counts) Nothing else ...thanks for the experience

We liked everything! Kids friendly, very welcoming staff, who speak any language you would like, tasty food, always clean facilities. Island big enough for strolls and bicycle rides. Photo studio who can arrange a photoshoot for you and your family. Little kids club. A small pool for the little ones aside of the big one for everybody. We stayed for a week in the second half of November and it was not crowded at all! Also, a big thank you to Alina and Nilufar, who made our stay more cosy far from home.

Not the property, but make sure to pack a mosquito spray, because there were a lot of mosquitoes, which I did not expect. Also, we had a lot of rainy days in the second half of November, but it has nothing to do with property :)

the best resort island for families - I have done extensive oline research before booking - but meeru - and the overall MEERU EXPERIENCE just exceeded any expectations we had had as a family befroe travelling. An inceredibly relaxing holiday - and if you are not an alcoholic - the FULL BOARD is more than enough for you (even with 1-2 cocktils per adult per day...) - and that way it stays an affordable dream experience... will definitely return...one day...maybe for an anniversary...

I was very surprised. It was my third time to Maldives and I was not expecting much according last experience. But Meeru is very nice Atol and very well equipped. Everything is clean, everything was well prepaired and organized. Food was perfect, breakfasts, lunches and dinners were well organized, everything was fresh, well flavoured. People were fine and helpful. Atol is separated to parts where you can stay with kids and parts just for adults and that is what I find perfect. Simply we like it there and it was pleasure to spend there holidays with kids. From one side of island it is very windy from another nearly not you can choose what you prefere. There was not that much fish as I saw on another islands, but in the evenings when I walk on molo with my son there was able to see baby sharks, stingrays and many other fishes, so they there are but somehow hidden during the day.

The only thing I am finding as a mistake is misleading name "all-inclusive" and I tell you especially why. I do not need any spirits in package, I do not need that much food etc. but what I really need is water. But you know what? Water is excluded from all-inclusive package in all bars. So you can drink beer, milkshake, coke in any quantity and it is not charged because it is in package, but when you want water, it takes ten bucks per bottle and that is really anoying for me. You get water in room also while breakfast, lunch and dinner, but when you are in pool, it is excluded from package and that is pitty from my point of view. Otherwise I would not find nearly any mistake on Meeru because it is nice.
