Loved the location of the hotel. It has all the things a hotel of this size should have. Room was spacious, balcony was nice. We really appreciated the availability of beach and pool towels. The reception provided enough information about ferries and stuff happening around. The desk was 24/7 which is nice. Minibar selection was done very smartly as you could pay one time fee to have the minibar filled.

Overall the hotel feels dated. I think it might have been a 4* back in early 2000s but now its age was showing. My biggest concern was the bathroom, while clean, it looked old and didn't provide the amenities I expected from it (like shower cap). Breakfast was only okay

Personell very nice. Size of the room was great, nice sea view (room with balcony). Breakfast buffet with the nice view. Good location next to the beach.We were in January - just weekend break and for this purpose perfect choice.

AC was old and laud - for night had to be switched off. Bathroom should be refurbished. You hear everything from the corridor.

The hotel is perfectly located. The room was clean and airy with a great view across the bay.

Sometimes the dishes were not topped up very quickly in the breakfast room meaning that there would only be a few pieces of fruit left or no baked beans for example.

The way we were asked for payment upon arrival. A more polite way could have been adopted by concierge on shift at time of our arrival.

Beautiful view and comfortable room. We had gorgeous view of the sea and marina. Close to many great restaurants.

Perfect hotel for business trip, fun trip to the area, romantic trip............just to stay in. Room with a lovely sea view - good walk in shower. Plenty of choice for a good sized breakfast. Staff were so thoughtful and helpful.

Lighting in the rooms is very poor - this is the second time I have been to this hotel - the only one in the area to take dogs. And this was the 2nd time I mentioned the lighting to the reception. This time they said they would sort it and change the bulbs - if they did, it didn't seem to make much difference - I had to use a torch to use my tablet.

We enjoyed the view from the hotel balcony. The fact that our bedding was changed even after one night was highly appreciated as we weren't expecting it. We also loved how quiet the mornings were outside the hotel. We would like to thank you for this great opportunity to have a holiday with our pet. We do not like to leave our pet behind with anyone so the fact that Hotel Calypso is a pet friendly hotel is amazing!! Our dog is a keen swimmer so the fact that the hotel is so close to many swim spots is an added bonus.

One thing I would have changed is the brightness of the bedside lamps. I would have preferred them to be softer glow rather than bright white. Just enough to be able to read before sleep. Another thing I would change is the ability to have the balcony lights on at night. I admit I did not look for a switch; once the lights went out at around 11.30pm I retreated inside. I admit, I did not look for a switch inside the room so I might have missed it.

Breakfast was very good with excellent service. Unfortunately they gave us a room at the back though we booked few months ahead. The room was ok and very clean . The staff were great. All very helpful in reception, at breakfast, and the cleaning staff. All very efficient.

The problem was the bathroom lights. Its like in Limbo . One cannot shave with that lighting. Today you can use low power with led's like they used in the room. The toilet was to closed to the wall. It could easily me shifted with an offset by 60mm and problem is solved .
