the staff is very dry . front desk staff didn’t have any sense of urgency . front desk staff unable to communicate effectively in Spanish . I arrived at 2:00 was not able to check in until 3:40 . st

Cantera is a beautiful, comfortable, clean, boutique hotel, with very attentive staff. It is located in the historical center of town within close walking distance of the Parroquia. It has well appointed comfortable rooms and is quiet in a very busy section of San Miguel. I would certainly consider staying there again.

1. San Miguel is a wedding venue, and professional photographers used the small courtyard immediately outside our bedroom door on two days while we were in our room. It felt intrusive and we should have been asked or at least forewarned. 2. The food service was a bit slow, and not exactly as ordered. It seems the hotel is still working out some of the kinks. 3. We suggest the bathroom be cleaned periodically with mold removal. Humidity builds up and we noticed some darkening of stucco walls. Otherwise the hotel is in pristine condition.

great property and 3rd floor room had a great view. OK if you don’t mind doing steps every time you go to your room. no elevator.

breakfast area needs some area heaters. view and fresh air were great but eating breakfast with temps in 40’s F was a little uncomfortable. also , 2nd cup of coffee was not included in breakfast??

where do I start? this place was just PERFECT. we arrived early in the morning and were greeted at the door, check in was quick and off to our room we were. the location is perfect with plenty of restaurants across the street. everything is walking distance which is amazing. staff was SO NICE and SO HELPFUL. I will never stay at a different hotel when in SMDA. we went to the rooftop for lunch & drinks and the attention to detail was impeccable. our room was cleaned everyday (our cleaning lady was amazing so shoutout to her!). this place is so charming & I cant wait to return!

The staff was friendly but a bit slow to respond. The front desk was sometimes staffed with people that spoke little/no English, so difficult to get attention. TV didn't work consistently.

The hotel is absolutely stunning. The light sandy colors mixed with the colonial style Mexican heritage were simply beautiful. We got upgraded upon arrival which was very nice. Everything is new and clean. The decoration very thoughtful and the bed really comfy. It is in the middle of everything but still in a quite street. no noise while sleeping.

The breakfast was just a simple coffee and some fruits or a piece of bread. everything extra needs to be paid for. we ordered two cappuccinos thinking its part of the breakfast but had to pay for them in the end.

This hotel is in the best location, is absolutely gorgeous and the breakfast was wonderful. Truly couldn't ask for a better experience. There are many beautiful hotels in San Miguel but I will stay in this one next time too. The staff was so helpful and friendly, they really kept an eye out for me and even took my shoes and had them fixed for me!

The room is a little small but gorgeous furnishings, super high end.

Breakfast was included and had good choices including for vegetarian‘s. The room was exceptionally clean including the bathroom grout. Great location and the staff was friendly. Housekeeping was exceptional

The only downside to this hotel is the water pressure in the shower was poor. We were on the second floor and our daughter was on the third floor with the same problem.

Our favorite part was how convenient this hotel was to the downtown area. It takes just a few min to walk to the main square! We were close to the best restaurants and nightlife. The suite itself couldn’t have been better, the decor was to die for, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was perfect and our balcony really topped it off. We had the best view overlooking a couple churches!

The rooms were modern, clean-lined and very well appointed and had thoughtful touches, like artisinal chocolates and infused water, plus a Nespresso coffee machine, robes and slippers. The hotel itself has a beautiful rooftop patio and breakfast is lovely. The staff were very attentive and accommodating.

The only thing small negative is that you could hear the music playing from a neighbouring establishment until well into the early hours. Though maybe that depends on how close to the the road you are placed.
