OMG, the setting is truly hard to beat, a beautiful protected cove fringed with beautiful sand and incredibly beautiful tourquoise sea to enjoy. In terms of the staff all were very helpful and did their best to make sure you had what you needed. In particular the staff at reception were exceptional and would like to thank Cassandra for going out her way for me. As well, Gabriela, Lucy, and Ramon were very friendly and helpful. The reception manager Claudia is a great asset to the hotel.

The buffet was best at breakfast but not so great for dinner. The Los Arcos and Japanese Kyoto were rather poor. Strange for Los Arcos, it's a snack bar/, restaurant and excellent.

The service was superb. Any requests to the staff were immediately done. Food was very decent for an all inclusive and drinks were good as well. The rooms were extremely big and nice, all with sea view and very comfortable. I can recommend this hotel for couples or families.

I stayed in this hotel a long time ago and I remembered this hotel as more premium option. I think that this hotel now downgraded the quality of their food and drinks. Rooms were better and the beach was also more private. This time the beach was overcrowded with people selling stuff, shabby restaurants and a lot of boats. Therefore the beach was not nice. The place has definitely lost some of its magic.

Have a Free Shuttle to Town ...

The property is located about 45min away from PV so either you spend all your time in the property or travel to PV, I recommend taxi. The hotel is nice, not like a big high class resort but it is nice and people do their best to give you a good service. The best thing is that the beach is almost exclusive for the hotel and you have a great view of the jungle.

Number one, men require pants to go into the themed restaurants. Also, depending on the number of nights you are staying, it will determine how many reservations you can make. All this wasn't disclosed in the hotel's website. The food at the buffet restaurant is good just not so impressive. Overall the food is good, but don't expect high level gourmet cuisine.

The easy access to the beach, the large rooms& balcony, great staff , well organized, spacious hotel, great ambiance and atmosphere, safe & secure

The food needs work, all of it was pretty flavorless. That the only open bar near the pool was in the pool on the kids side, the high cost of key replacements- we were so afraid to lose anything(which I know is the point, but still.), that you couldnt make more than 1 dinner reservation during your stay.

The location was awesome. It was secluded a little bit south of Puerto Vallarta. The beach was quiet and the rooms were spread out with space. If you plan on doing a lot of activities in town each day, Barcelo is not the place for you. The pools were awesome. Lots of places to sit and find a spot. I also loved that each room has a patio.

The food: it was hit or miss each day. It wasn’t warm and we ended up being sick a couple of days. Be warned of the sushi. Make sure you make dinner reservations otherwise you’re stuck at the buffet. No transportation to and from the airport. No shuttles to get you around town. Expect to pay $30 round trip each day in taxi fares.

My best description of the time we were there is it was like family camp. Everyone was having so much fun. There is a place there for every age group. Very nice rooms and friendly staff.

The food could definitely use improvement. Many people including our group got sick.

Everything I needed was right there. The pools were great, views were great and the service was what I had expected. I read a lot of poor reviews prior to going and I do not think they were fair- this is not a 5 star luxury stay. It is a comfortable, beautiful all inclusive hotel that has everything you need! The Italian restaurant was yummy, staff was kind and the buffet is what I expected of a hotel buffet! My room was clean every day and so were the other hotel facilities.

There wasn’t anything I specifically did not like and issues that came up were quickly resolved by the staff.

It was good. Once it got crowded it was harder to what you wanted.

The fact that when booking it doesn't tell you that a couple of the restaurants have dress codes.

I was not told there was a premium option or I would’ve went for that. Food could’ve been a little bit better. Wi-Fi was unusable.
