Nice new hotel with excellent breakfast and a view to the sea and St Stefan island. Staff is very helpful, cleanliness is beyond reproach. Private beach and private parking are great. Nice bathroom. There are some nice and not-so-expensive bars and restaurants nearby.

Our room looked at the back and was close to the road (though admittedly there were not many cars passing. Also, very close to our terrace was the power generator for the air conditioning of the whole building which makes a strong constant humming noise. You do not hear it when you close the terrace door (insulation is excellent) but for me it was impossible to stay on the terrace. Another niggle is the strong music played in the corridors though admittedly they decreased the volume when I asked. Also rooms could be a bit bigger for a five star hotel.

Our ground floor room had the main hotel ventilation duct boxed into the corner. Meaning from 6am-10pm there was a loud, deep vibration noise resonating through the room. It was annoying but not completely disruptive. Our comments to the staff were met with indifference. The room was also very gloomy.

The location is perfect, with access to the beach and in front of the island. We had a very precious time at the hotel. The restaurant is very good and the staff is friendly and prepared. A special thank you for Goga, who was adorable! We will definitely come back!

This hotel was so delightful, from the location to the amenities to the staff. Every staff member was so welcoming and helpful from when we first walked in. The front desk and parking boys are so helpful and friendly! The beach location is ideal and the beach chairs are so comfy. The room was small if you’re comparing it to US hotels but average size for a tiny European beach town. The bed was comfy, everything was clean, and the location is just perfect. It was a great price for all that was included- breakfast and parking on top of all the beach amenities.

The restaurant there is nothing to rave about, nice but more expensive than others in the town. We had lunch there and no complaints besides the value. Besides that, it’s perfect. We’ll be back!

The valet tried his best but the parking for the car was terrible- also the access from the street to the hotel was by way of a huge amount of stairs which is very difficult for people with mobility issues

California is one of the nicest, coziest hotels we've ever been in. The hotel is small, which is definitely not a downside. Because there are fewer guests, you get undivided attention from all the staff, from the reception, to the waiters and the housemaids. Everyone in the hotel is INCREDIBLY nice. The hotel is very clean and tidy, and this includes the rooms, the common areas, the restaurant and the beach. The breakfast is excellent: it may not seem like a huge variety of dishes, but everything is delicious. The beach is only for the hotel guests, and in the peak of season, it was never fully occupied. Everything is very clean and you can access the beach bar for food and drinks. Last but not least, the hotel's restaurant for a la carte meals. The waiters (Dražen and Krsto) are amazing. Every dish is pure perfection, and you don't have to go anywhere else to get a meal outside of the hotel. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a 5-star experience with amazing service, amenities and food.

Hotel rooms were spacious and clean. The location was perfect right on the beach.

Staff on the reception did not relate information. Asked about a local restaurant there are only 16 in the area they did not know where it was, also there are more than 150 steps to get to restaurants no heads up from staff so yiu are prepared wrong shoes etc. Cabs back from Budva add extortionate tariffs in the evening when we asked the receptionist she said yes thats correct but she never mentioned it to us when we booked our taxi to go there. Not helpful not imparting key facts.

our Mountain View room was facing the backside of the hotel with a loud ventilation / AC system which was a bothersome

There can not be a better location to stay at sveti stefan. You can enjoy the beach with the background of the island in the background. It is also very quiet and secluded so perfect for a romantic get away. The hotel facilities were great! they also have a in-house spa which adds to the romantic/relaxed feeling. There are also some restaurants close by. The staff was friendly and helped us in making reservations for meals. Watching the sunset at sveti stefan makes everything worth it! The rooms are huge with private balcony.

Would be good to have day trips organized from hotel or water sport activities like lake skadar, parasailing, etc. Sveti stefan does not offer a lot of activities they offer kayaking and paddle boarding. It would also be helpful if the staff could advice on all the activities being offered nearby. They only told us about the ones available at the hotel but while walking on the beach we saw some more activity suppliers.
