The location being between the centre of town and the black lake was perfect . The facilities- like saunas - were appreciated after a busy day trekking and sightseeing. But the best part was the staff - the two delightful ladies on reception were friendly informative and extremely helpful - but also a big word of thanks to the hotels driver Matteus ,who took us on a Brilliant “ ring of durmitor “ 5 hour jeep tour that we would thoroughly recommend to all staying at the Soa.

The first impression is that the decor and furniture is a bit dated in a 70’s style - but that is a very minor point given all the positives above .

Very polite staff. Room cleaning every day. Clean towels. Excellent and tasty breakfast. Good food in the restaurant and especially pasta with truffles. Amazing location - very close to Black Lake. Wonderful view from the suite on the 3rd floor. Having your own kitchen. Excellent sauna, which is included in the price. A good massage. I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel and speaking as a simple tourist, I would have been satisfied.

Despite the fact that there was a fireplace in the room, there were problems with firewood; it was damp and not the right size for lighting - we had to ask for them, just like matches. The tequila in the restaurant is warm. I heard that they serve pasta and sprinkle it with truffle right in front of the guest and it looks beautiful, but unfortunately the serving was rather modest. The room could use some updating in terms of renovation and furniture. But these are all minor things. I'm just paying attention to it.

Loved this hotel. Location, decor, service was exceptional

Our room has not had a portable air conditioner. It was really hot and that is the only reason it’s not a 10.

The staff were very nice and helpful. They helped organise tours for us and also helped us get back a bag we had forgotten in a cab to the hotel. The hotel was located very close to the Durmitor national park and only a 10 min walk to the city centre. The black lake was also reachable by foot. It was a very nice hotel with a nice sauna/spa as well. We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it. In case of any issues the staff were very helpful in resolving them and also gave us free drinks to make up for any delays in sorting the issues.

The food choices were limited for dinner and breakfast which I understand is because they didnt have too many guests at the time and the restaurant had just been recently opened.

The food & wine (the quality, presentation, variety and price) was excellent. It was fresh & tasty and breakfast options varied each day. We were also able to have gluten free options available, which was great. All of the staff were friendly, professional & happy to assist. The sauna and steam room were an added bonus and included in the price.

Our room (luxury apartment) was very spacious, but didn’t make the best use of the available space (accessing one side of the bed was quite awkward). However, we very much enjoyed our stay and it wouldn’t prevent us staying again.

The hotel is a jewel! We were upgraded to an apartment and it was amazing - spacious, comfortable, luxurious. The hotel is small, but has everything - good breakfast, wonderful staff (especially Boyan who was very kind and helpful and recommended many beautiful spots in the area), and a small spa, which is booked individually, so we enjoyed an hour in the spa to ourselves. There is a free parking in front of the hotel and it's close to the black lake. We've had an amazing experience and highly recommend this place.

The breakfast could have been better (more fresh vegetables, for example), but we enjoyed what we've had both mornings. The restaurant is a bit pricey and doesn't offer local cuisine, so the second night we went to dinner to a different place.

I like many things about this hotel, just to name a few: 1. Excellent location, 15min on foot to the Black lake 2. Stunning view of the forest 3. The cleanliness is immaculate 4. Fast and reliable internet 5. I can't praise the staff enough 😍, all of them are soooo nice and helpful - the girls at the reception desk, the waiters, the girl who prepared eggs at breakfast (Bojana), unfortunately I don't know the name of others... 6 Excellent breakfast 7. Dinner at the hotel's restaurant is delicious and not expensive 8. Comfortable beds and sofa 9. Nice bathroom with good water pressure 10. Extremely good value

I like literally everything

We stay here every year, and it is undoubtedly the best hotel by the Black Lake. We always book the top floor room with a fireplace. The views are stunning, and the tranquility is absolute. It is a perfect retreat. The rooms are spotless, and the staff is incredibly welcoming. Breakfast is impeccable, and you can always order additional coffee, which is simply superb, along with a delicious omelet. During the colder months, the fireplace is pure magic. I highly recommend this hotel to all family couples. We will definitely return with our whole family.

One of the best hotels I ever stayed at. Perfect location, warm accommodations in the winter, sauna, various sizes of rooms to choose from. Unlike most of places in Montenegro, Soa has reasonable check out hours.

As everywhere: half a dozen of small simple things that could be fixed easily and at no cost: loose door hinges, leaking shower rose, never been lubricated window handles/mechanisms, shower drain hole needs cleaning at the spa center.
