Riad Baladin is easily one of my favorite places I have stayed on all my travels! It has a lovely rustic bohemian vibe and decor that reflects how close it is to the sea, and little cozy touches like candles and oil burners are always lit. It's well located to all the things to see in Essaouira (don't miss sunset at the port!) and though it's tucked away down a side street the area feels very safe. Breakfast on the roof terrace is delicious (and is on until noon, which is unusual!). All the staff I met were just the kindest most wonderful people, everyone was very attentive and helpful. Special mention to Felix, the manager (allegedly :p), and Simba (the ginger cat) for the warm welcome, the restaurant recommendations, all the tea, and for always being around and checking in with everyone. I had a wonderful stay and will be back soon. Love to Essaouira from Edinburgh! :-)

That I had to go home.

I left my heart in Essaouira because of this facility and its people mainly. Essaouira is a small town but how come this stay for this budget can turn into an amazing experience. - At the first check-in Felix welcomed me and gave an information not only about riad but also about the city and things to do, places to eat on a map. This might be normal for most travelers but in my trips to Morocco, this happened for the first time to me at check in. - I reached to my room, it was more beautiful than in pictures! Of course it is small for 1 person single bed but i couldnt resist to take thousands of pictures of it. - Thankfully Felix was available and at Riad, he arranged me tours and restaurants. His neighbors and riad's restaurant all of them were flawless. - You can never find family style accommodation and that much professionally taken care. I hope the owners see the teams 5 star effort. - Then i met the rest of the team, Esma, was super nice and very knowladgable person. She helped me with recommending real good coverlet too. And most importantly none of the team seemed like they are trying to sell something. They were just giving the name and location of the place and letting me go. - In one of our conversations with Felix, he realized how much i would love to see local life. And he kindly asked me if i would like to come with him to join him at the volunteer event he is running to. That was the best decision i made to join him. I cannot thank enough for being such a great friend during my stay besides being such a great manager of the facilities. - when it comes to the hotel, you must experience it. The highest quality argan soap in the bathrooms, highest quality of bed and towels, cleanliness, a perfect taste of design, and a huge terrace where you can watch sunset is everything. You dont even need to look for another place to experience sunset. - Breakfast was creme de la creme...

Excellent location, very central yet very peaceful and quiet once you step into the Riad. Short walk to the beach and the markets. Restaurants right outside the door. The hosts were so helpful and friendly and gave us lots of good information as well as restaurant recommendations. The rooftop terrace was beautiful, such a good place to chill out and read a book. The breakfast was really nice. Even though it was 30 degrees the day we arrived the riad was lovely and cool, there was also a heather and a hot water bottle in our room which came in handy when it got a bit chilly the next night. The hosts have thought of everything and the attention to detail was great.

Absolutely everything from the incredible welcome we received from.Felix and team Felix really made us feel so at home he is so very helpful and has a fantastic way of engaging with everyone a true host We loved our room it was just fabulous loved hearing the ocean it's perfectly situated breakfast served on the terrace such a beautiful way to start the day great food The service by staff was exceptional they treated me like a queen for my birthday which I so apprecIated. We most certainly will return we highly recommend baladin it was very difficult to leave we truly fell in love with it

Loved everything

The location of Riad Baladin couldn't be better. It's close enough to everything but also just outside of the busiest streets in the medina, making it calm and peaceful. The room was a great size and was comfortable to relax in. We also liked the rustic, bohemian decor. Having a kettle in the room with a selection of teas was also very welcome. We made sure to use the jacuzzi every day, so nice to relax in. The breakfast is absolutely fabulous and plentiful, we couldn't finish it! The mesemen with fresh cheese and honey was the real highlight.

They can't possibly control this, but it is very windy and the older style windows and shutters were a bit creaky. Also, sand finds its way in here and there. Being right besides the sea, the riad can feel a bit damp, but once again this is out of their control. If you have reduced mobility I wouldn't advise booking a room above the first floor as there are several flights of steep stairs.

We really enjoyed our stay at Baladin. The staff are very attentive, the breakfast is good (if a bit unclear on what's included - wait for the eggs!). The location is perfect for exploring the Medina and it's quiet despite being central. We really appreciated the aesthetic of the lobby/common areas and the fact that the doors to the rooms did not rely solely on the traditional Moroccan closure.

The bed was a bit unstable. The WiFi connection was very slow - fine for a few days on vacation, but wouldn't be enough for someone working remotely.

My recent stay at Riad Baladin in Essaouira was a delightful escape. Tucked away in the heart of the medina, this charming riad offered a perfect stay. From the moment I stepped inside, I was enchanted by the riad's décor and cozy ambiance. Felix, the manager, welcomed me warmly and went above and beyond to ensure my comfort throughout my stay. One of the highlights was the rooftop terrace, where I enjoyed the lovely views while savoring delicious breakfast and soaking up the sunshine. Riad Baladin's central location made it easy to explore Essaouira's bustling souks, historic sites, and vibrant culture. Yet, at the end of each day, returning to the peaceful haven of the riad felt like coming home. I can't wait to return for another stay.

The hosts Azita and Felix were very caring, helpful and direct. Riad very clean and beautifully decorated in a nautical atmosphere. Comfortable, original, well maintained and very clean rooms. At night the comfort was full: very comfortable beds, hard but firm mattresses, no noise from outside or inside the riad. Very good and varied breakfast, there was even cottage cheese.😃 Excellent location. This riad had everything to rest comfortably. Our rating is maximum. And such little things: a flower in a vase and lit candles on the chimney were waiting for us in the room. The owners recommended us a great fish restaurant in the area, thank you, the fish was delicious! Communication also possible in German 😁.

Everything at Riad Baladin was perfect for us. Felix & his team are exceptional. They go above & beyond to ensure guests needs are met at all times. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They gave us recommendations for places to eat, shop and explore. Our room was the Terrace at the top of the Riad & was perfect & we suggest the best room at the Baladin. Breakfast was plentiful & delicious & served on the roof/terrace. Using the jacuzzi was such an added bonus & a must after a long day walking in the souk. Well done to all at Riad Baladin, we will definitely return to this magical place.

Nothing, everything & all staff were great.

Me and my husband stayed at this booking for only one night, but we were very impressed by the cleanliness of our room. Our room was very well decorated, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The atmosphere was peaceful, with lots of natural lighting and fresh air. The rooftop at this booking was amazing and you could here the ocean, which gave a wonderful and romantic vibe.

The only disappointing part about our stay, was the gentleman that checked us in was somewhat cold to us and the Jacuzzi was not open when we arrived. We were told that the Jacuzzi was only open in the afternoons, which was disappointing because this was one of the main reasons i booked here and the website did not disclose this information on it.
