The location was absolutely perfect for us - the streets around the hotel are quieter than the center but still have lots of things to do close by. Very easy to get anywhere with a tram stop outside. We had a lovely view of the canal which was a great bonus! We were on a budget for this trip, and so we’re really pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed our stay, seeing as it was one of the cheapest rooms we could find!
There are a LOT of stairs, which was fine for us (apart from getting suitcases up and down!). There isn’t a lift and the stairs are very steep, so might not be appropriate for someone with mobility issues.

The location is excellent, walking distance to the city center and all main attractions. The staff of the hotel is super friendly and helpful, they are really stars, all of them. The room is small, but honestly that was the best value we could find in the central Amsterdam (and Amsterdam is expensive!) Our room was cleaned daily, fresh towels and coffee capsules refills for the coffee machine were provided daily as well. Also, we booked a triple room with canal view, however there was no view due to the construction going on outside the hotel. And even though it’s not the hotel’s fault at all, they offered us free breakfast for the duration of our stay, which was really nice of them. There is no AC in the room but we were lucky as the weather in Amsterdam was really pleasant. Also, just note that there is no lift in the building (this applies to many old buildings in Amsterdam), if you have elderly people with you or have a lot of luggage, it might be worth checking where you room is located as the stairs are really narrow and steep (old building, remember?)
The only thing that I really didn’t like is the absence of lock on the bathroom door. It might not be an issue if you’re staying alone, but when you book a double or triple room (as we did) it creates some inconvenience. This must be such an easy fix, please just install a simple lock on the bathroom door!

We were travelling as a family on holiday. Location of the hotel is fantastic and quite central. Is a really nice vicinity with canals all around. Good views from our room. The building is historical (part of the reason I chose it) and full of character. Staff were friendly and helpful with flexibility in check-in times. There are trams 300m away which can get you pretty much anywhere in AMS if you don't feel like walking. Top Tip: The hotel has bikes for rent - we did this and it was a great way to see the city.
Nothing really - we had a great time. Just to clarify. The stairs get a mention in a few of the comments. They truly are very steep. If you have limited mobility, please request a room on the first floor (only 5 or 6 easy steps). That said, the stairs are manageable assuming no mobility issues (remember this is a historic building - is part of the experience). I am early 50s and got 3 large suitcases up the stairs no problems.

We got an upgrade for a 3 bed room. Spacious and we could use a bed to put our stuff. Room and bathroom were clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Good location with plenty of markets and cafes close by. Great hot shower and heat in the room. Coffee machine and hair dryer in room.
Dont bother paying more for canal view, they have construction there. Walls are thin so u can hear the neighbors steps and drunk people on the street. Luckily it was not a weekend so not too bad. Stairs: really steep, if you have a suitcase it will be hard to go up. Bathroom is tiny but ok. Location: 20 min walk to Anne Frank museum and 30 min walk to red light diststrict. You can take the bus close by.

The hotel was in a really central area, a half hour walk from central train station surrounded by lots of nice shops, restaurants and all the main attractions. Room was big with a very comfy bed and the bathroom was clean. Beautiful view over the canal.
The stairs were really steep, didnt bother us but would avoid booking if you had lots of heavy luggage or were a little older and found stairs difficult. To get into the hotel was a bit of a challenge, the door was really stiff and our key card constantly played up. Had to get reception staff to help twice and they struggled too. Early check in isnt an option, we were only 10 minutes early and had to wait until exactly 2pm. Not a big deal but something to bear in mind if you had an early arrival time. Tv in the room was missing the remote. Can be quite noisy at night with people down by the canal and also could hear others in their rooms.

As it was a cheap option for accommodation I was expecting negatives but to be fair I can’t find many complaints. The bathroom wasn’t fancy but it was clean and tidy. The beds were changed once during the 4 day stay. It was clean. Friendly and helpful staff on reception. There’s noise and stuff at night outside and some people slam doors in the hotel but that’s not a fault of the hotel. The location is quite close to the city centre and is in a little dead end road too so you don’t often get much people or traffic as soon as you step out in the street another plus.
The door to get in can be a bit temperamental sometimes the key card needs to be reset but even then the reception will sort that quickly. They are there all the time. There was a little smell seems to seep through the drain in the bathroom but it’s not always there and you need to be in the bathroom a while and you might notice it. These are minor things the price was really fair. £900 for 4 nights compared to many nearby places for a lot higher prices like £1500+

The major thing I really liked was the special place where the hotel was located, and I was really impressed by the amazing simple shower the hotel had. It was so so clean and the showerhead was so comfortable and minimalistic fantastic!!!
At the side of the bed close to the window there I felt some dust and crumps and the decorative cousins had some little stains, Next time it will be better if these were also washed out.

Aside from the location that is almost just a walk away from the main attractions and museums, the staffs are all helpful and kind. From the moment we did the check-in until our last day where we had to leave our luggages for awhile. The staffs made sure all our needs are attended to. They are also cleaning the room and bathroom everyday, restocking supplies (coffee, towels and tissues)
The stairs, it’s too steep. Too bad for the elders. Difficult to bring the luggages up and down.

Well booked this hotel Sunday when I was in Amsterdam due to the hotel we was in was very bad and can't fault this hotel its amazing staff friendly and helpful room was spot on big enough for two people bed was so comfy wanted to bring it home with me and the shower was lush and hot we had a hair dryer in room and a coffee machine so definitely will be staying here again Only thing I would say is the stairs are very steep so be careful walking down them
