1. The hospitality is unmatched. The stuff is extremely friendly. I dealt with 3 ladies and 3 gentlemen. If I knew their names. I would have given them a shout here. They are always smiling and welcoming. They helped me to find good spots to visit on the island based on my preferences. 2. The checkin is bet. 3pm-11pm. The checkout is at 11am. I was able to keep my luggage in the reception after checking out to go for a walk by the sea. 3. The hotel is super clean and luxurious. The room is spacious. The bed is 2m width. It has a TV, tea bags, and coffee capsules. The bathroom is clean, modern, and has a bathtub together with a douche. 4. The breakfast is tasty and has a lot of options; variety of cheese, variety of pastery and bakery, eggs cooked in 3-4 ways, jams, fruit salads, juice, and hot drinks. It is nice to have breakfast at the sunny terrace.

The room was very clean and a good size. Breakfast had enough choices. Everything was fresh, very comfy seats 👌 The location is excellent - 5 mins walk to the beach and to the center. Perfect for dogs as well. Our furbabies felt very welcome. Thx

Service outside in the garden is super slow, and lunch menu options were extremely poor. The lift is unacceptable for a 4-star hotel and should also not be used by housekeeping 😔 The indoor pool looks nothing like on the photo, much smaller, there were zero options to book some spa time. These were among the top reasons why we booked the hotel.

The location was excellent. Walking distance to the beach so we could go for a walk to the beach or go for a walk through the dunes easily. It is literally on the dunes so we could see many birds as well. The breakfast was good as well with many local food we could chose from.

We would have liked it if the breakfast starts earlier instead of 8am. If you want to go for a walk or join a tour, you have to eat quickly and hurry to get to the tour starting point. So we opted to stay for a relaxed breakfast and did not do any tours.

The hotel is great. Everything looks nice, the room is spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a dune view room and that is really georgeous. It is very close to the beach. The staff was always very nice and helpful. There are many facilities to use from the pool and sauna to billiard and other games. Breakfast was really good too. You can spend an amazing vacation in this place, no matter if you go outside or stay inside.

The breakfast room was a bit crowded (we didn't go early, maybe it is better then). The door to the shower didn't shut properly, so you had water spilling on the floor.

We spent 5 nights at Hotel Opduin. The room in the 4 star hotel was very clean, every morning again cleaned to the fore. In particular, I would like to mention that this family room was large enough for 3 children and parents and was an absolute plus. The swimming pool in the hotel is also highly recommended. The highlight, however, is the breakfast buffet. A real dream of delicacies.

What we missed a little was advice on what would be possible on Texel and also how best to use public transport for families (there the ignorance of families is exploited by bus drivers and sold overpriced tickets). The only service that we clearly rate as poor for a 4 star hotel is the wifi. The reception was only available at the corridor door and then also very slow.

Lovely hotel in a great location next to the dunes. Perfect access for walking through the dunes to the beach and also easy walk to De Koog centre. The extra dog-friendliness - providing a bed, water bowl and chew was beyond expectations. Breakfast was good choice and great quality food. Nice size room, comfortable bed and good bathroom with a powerful shower. A wonderful stay and would stay again

Just one small incident I didn't like, where we were asked to move from the table because someone was apparently already sat there despite the table being freshly done up and there no presence of anything suggesting someone sitting there. Didn't appreciate being asked to move table in this case and just a small incident that left a sour taste on the day of departure

Great location. Beautiful and big rooms and common areas. Nice interior design and furniture selection. Pet friendly.

Breakfast is good but not excellent. Gym is mediocre and deserves an improvement. Sauna and hammam is a paying option but the facilities are old and not well maintained.

We visited Texel between 16th and 19th July 2022 staying at the Grand Hotel Opduin and absolutely loved the place. Fantastic location just between the main town centre and the beach nestled against the beautiful dunes. Expect to see rabbits and pheasants from your bedroom window and the most incredible sunsets. We seriously could not fault this hotel. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, light, well-furnished and quiet. The breakfast is absolutely delicious with lots of choice. The staff are welcoming, kind and helpful. Texel and De Koog itself are stunning - we truly had a magical time and would have happily stayed another few days. Don't forget to rent bicycles (which can be done directly through the hotel in advance of your stay). We love, love, loved it and can't wait to come back!

The breakfast buffet is slightly illogically laid out and takes a bit of searching for what you want. We would have loved Camomile teabags in the room as all of the teabags contained caffeine so weren't suitable for a late evening drink.

Nicely decorated hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Situated not far from the beach and walking distance from De Koog town. If you are looking for some time to wind down and relax, then this is certainly the place to be.

I would have liked firm beds.

Very nice location near restaurant and beach. Nice and Fresh decoration, cosy and stily interior, nice louge bar and great breakfast. We could enjoy the Spa/Sauna/Pool facilities easily. Also very nice attention for our dog who got his own little bed and toy.

I've put a little lesser note about price as when my oldest daughter decide to join and we went from 4pers to 5, we had to book a 2nd room and therefor had to reduce our stay. All the rest was perfect
