We really loved our stay at Hotel Mariënhage, it's great value for money. The room was absolutely beautiful and well equipped. We particularly loved the attention to detail such as the dimmable lights, the coffee machine, the television, the comfortable bathroom and beautiful decoration. Our room had very handy storage in the entrance so even if the room was not huge it didn't feel cluttered.

When we arrived we were told our room was ready but the cleaning crew wasn't done with our room yet so we had to wait. The cleaning crew was very friendly and helpful though as they sorted out a problem with our room. It can get quite cold in the winter and it would be nice to have some extra blankets at hand for those who don't wish to sleep with the heating on. The ventilation system is also quite loud and didn't seem to stop even when turned off. But these are small details and all in all I think our stay was great!

The rooms were clean at first, but after staying for about two months, they got really dirty and super dusty. I have asthma, and the dust made it really hard for me to breathe. We asked for cleaning several times, but nothing really changed, and they barely changed the sheets either. It was really disappointing how little effort was put into keeping things clean.

Interesting converted hotel from a previous monastery. Lovely room and our view of the internal courtyard was lovely. Staff at reception were extremely helpful and attentive whenever we needed anything. The location of the hotel was quite central so within easy walking distance to the centre. Would highly recommend.

Housekeeping was a little hit and miss. For example, they kept forgetting to check our soap dispensers, toilet tissues or coffee pods were topped up. Or giving us clean mugs each day. But the reception staff were really helpful and made up for it.

The property is modern and unique architecture in a good way. Beautiful grounds for fresh air and meandering. A convenient parking to the back entry for pick up and drop off. The bar area is cozy and has great seating and decor. The menu looked delicious. I will try next visit The rooms have great beds. The decor and room sizes vary and are so interesting. Quality furnishings and finishing, with a bit of whimsy.Large windows all with a lovely view. Best service from Alexander(?) at the desk. He carried my bags and was so helpful and positive at every question or request.

Stairs. Lobby too open if you wanted to read or just relax instead of staying in your room. Former set up (as per photos) was in a niche area that looked cozier. The reading table could be elsewhere. In short, limited lobby furniture. Also the bar is a little intimidating to enter just to find an area to relax. The hotel seems to attract short stay conferences ie business people. Not a diverse clientele. The bath is too dark to to hair and makeup. I had to move to desk area. The amenities are on a sub ground area and locked. You need an appointment. They should promote much better re spa. I wouldn’t book if I couldn’t the see the products etc first. Need a hub of activity. Bit too quiet/churchy

The building itself is very nice and they managed to make a new and modern hotel out of an old monastery. The breakfast was very good and worth the money.

Unfortunately we had a hard time sleeping because of the ventilation in the room that can't be stopped and the air is hitting your head directly while resting in bed. But that was my personal experience and probably not everyone will have the same problem sleeping. And another inconvenient thing was that I couldn't open the window in the room that I stayed in because it was locked with a big plexiglass so I couldn't enjoy the fresh air.

What a treat, this was one of those situations when you have no expectations at all but the hotel surprises you above and beyond in a good way. Very stylish, very authentic, very historic yet modern. The rooms we got were very new and seemed spacious because of the stairs. I was traveling with two friends and how cool it was to have the spa just for ourselves. Really amazing experience! Breakfast was great, all the choices that you need for the morning - eggs, sausages, cold cuts, salmon, cereal and pastries. The parking can be arranged via the hotel but we missed that opportunity and ended up parking across the road in one of the qparks for just 9eur for the night. Everything is very convenient!

Really lovely hotel, gorgeous building, great staff, really comfy beds and everything was so clean it glowed. Really great design touches.

In the room there was nowhere to put away clothes - no wardrobe, drawers, and just a few hangers on the wall behind the door. Would have also been helpful to have a key card per guest (as the lifts require a card, this meant one of us couldn't go to the wellness centre without leaving the other sitting in the dark)

Beautiful rooms, very comfortable and great location. The building itself is also exceptionally beautiful as it's a renovated church/monastery , located right in the center of eindhoven, a great location to explore the city by walking.

The coffeemaker in the room is not very user friendly haha, the minibar could be a bit more stocked (empty). Also, when we were there there was a party in the church area, which apparently happens every first saturday of the month. Which meant there were quite some late night party goers in the hallway who weren't always very quiet

design, spa, breakfast A unique boutique hotel that's located within the old cathedral of the Order of St. Augustine. The room we stayed in had a unique and beautiful design. The bathroom was clean and spacious. There's a spa on the lower level which is free but needs a reservation from the front desk. The breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from.

The bathrobes that are mandatory for using the spa were an extra cost even if the spa itself was free. Tourists don't travel with bathrobes.

Pros: Good location. Beautiful restoration job. Comfortable bed — but only one small pillow, unless you ask for a second one. Prompt service. Some amazing staff. Nice coffee in the room. Free apples and muffins at the reception — thank you! They were much needed when we arrived.

I am only mentioning those, because the hotel is expensive and such glitches should not be there. There are some peculiar design choices. For example there is nowhere to hang a dress — no space! The height is too low. No mirror in the room — to get dressed, one has to open the door to the bathroom, while the other person is using it. The floor was not very clean — it was probably hoovered but not mopped, therefore spills were left next to the bed.
