My room at Applecross Sanctuary was spacious and comfortable. It was very clean and cosy. The hosts are extremely friendly and thoughtful, making sure the heat pump was on in the evening, for example, so I came home to a warm room. The location out in the country side is peaceful but you are still close to Cambridge and also Mystery Creek was only about 20-25 minutes away most days. The wifi and tv options were excellent.

Just to note that there are no kitchen cleaning facilities but the plan made by Wendy and Mike to help clean any dishes or containers worked seamlessly for me.

Great place to stay, the owners are very invested in making sure you have a great stay. We were arriving around dinner and we asked them for dinner options, they were very helpful and even checked if the restaurant was full. The gardens are lovely and a pool and spa are also a great bonus:) The room is very comfy and we were provided with 4 breakfast options, fruit, yoghurt, bread and different spreads:) Coffee pods, filtered coffee and normal coffee plus a range of teas. Bed was comfy and the place was fabulous, really enjoyed it:) Would definitely come back:)

Not really much to say here:) My wife thought it was interesting to have detol handdwash in the shower compared to bodywash...but that is such a small thing for all the positives from our stay.

Wendy and Michael were the consummate hosts and were discreet, but available when needed. The room was clean with everything needed for my short stay, including a private ensuite. It was too cold for the pool, but I enjoyed a lovely quiet afternoon in the sun, sitting on the deck, listening to the cows in the nearby paddock. The property is an easy 7 minute drive from the middle of town, but why bother with town when there’s so many beautiful views to be had nearby. It’s conveniently located within less than an hour and a half of everything the region has to offer - Rotorua, Waitomo Glowworm Caves, Hobbiton, Bridal Veil Falls and much more.

We stayed here for 2 nights and were completely satisfied. We have been traveling for 6 weeks, previously 3 weeks in Hawaii and it was one of the best places to stay for the price. The beds are comfortable, the host very friendly. Everything was clean and nicely furnished. It's nice and quiet on site and you can hear the birds chirping. We also liked Cambridge, where the host gave us good tips for restaurants and excursions.

The hosts were hospitable, kind and friendly. The room was amazing with a comfy bed and an amazing ensuite that included toiletries as well as a few bonus toiletries you won't always expect. There was adequate space and a variety of pillows to choose from as well as extra blankets. The breakfast selection and coffee were great. The place was clean and tidy and super cosy. The hosts even had an amazing book filled with ideas on where to eat locally and activities.

Sad we couldn't use the spa or pool due to bad weather.

The room was well equipped and spotlessly clean. There was plenty of information about the surrounding area and our hosts were more than willing to help and expand on this if necessary. The items for breakfast were just what you want( cereal, bread, fruit, yoghurt and jams) and nice and fresh. The garden and surroundings were beautiful and the swimming pool was the icing on the cake. There was also a hot tub, although we didn’t use this. We cannot recommend this accommodation enough, it was a lovely way to wind down after our trip from the UK and would be a great place to tour from as a base.

The facilities Spa & Pool, kitchenettes, comfortable beds & linen, both indoors and outdoors was superb.

We just felt the need to give guests more privacy. We appreciated that you like to check up and see if we’re ok or if we need anything but didn’t feel yous needed to do that as we had your phone number an email if we did need yous.

The room was warm and bed cosy. Had all you needed, felt private even though connected to the house. Loved the spa pool! Enjoyed a nice spa in the cool country farm air.

Was a nice place to stay, slightly further from town than we expected, but would definitely stay again as it was convienant and enroute for our travels.

Applecross is in a beautiful setting, with very friendly hosts (who even do your washing up as there is no kitchen sink!) We were only there for one short night, so weren't able to use the pool or fully appreciate the lovely garden. Breakfast items are provided - and plentiful! The bed was very large and comfortable, so we had an excellent night's sleep!

(Washing machine and tumble dryer, despite being listed, are not in apartment. Not a problem for us as we didn't need them.)

Mike and Wendy are a lovely couple and there is everything at Applecross that you would need for a very relaxing and comfortable stay. Only one untit on the property so use of pool and hot tub just for you. Very clean, tidy and well presented. Would highly recommend this place.
