We were caught in a cyclone and had to stay 3 extra nights in an unfamiliar town and stuck in our room for the majority of the time (with a newborn) . So we were so glad we picked this motel they were welcoming, clean and had everything you need * free wifi , my partner enjoyed the Sky sports to watch the state of origin and I enjoyed free WiFi aswell as the comfy beds plus aircon was great to keep baby warm during the storm. Thanks for having us.

Cyclone 😅

Location was relatively close to the town centre but in a very quiet neighbourhood. Our unit's car park was directly in front of it which felt very secure and handy for loading and unloading all our stuff. Very clean and well appointed facilities

Tight access to our unit between other unit's car parks and screen fencing of adjoining unit. 3, 4, even 5 point turn to get through the gap.

We were upgraded to Unit 1, which had a fabulous sea view. Everything about our rooms was fabulous. We were warm, comfortable, felt well looked after. Lots of individual homely touches we haven’t found elsewhere. Scott and his staff couldn’t do enough. He suggested going to interact with stingrays and eagle rays in the bay further north. It was a unique wonderful experience.

There was nothing at all that we didn’t like. It was perfect.

The location was brilliant so close to the beach and township. We loved being on the ground floor and being able to park right outside. The heat pump was great and heated the space very quickly. We appreciated having a couch to relax on at night while watching telly. Also appreciated the friendly chats with staff, and how clean the unit was.

We would have liked a ventilation fan and heater in the bathroom. We were surprised not to have Sky Movies so we hooked up our HDMI cable to watch Netflix movies on our account.

Very personable host. Milk came in a little glass bottle. Good selection of tea and coffee. Full kitchen. Close to the beach. Clean and comfortable.

Dated fixtures in the kitchen. Not as sound-proof as you might like. A small high window with no curtain may trouble those sensitive to light when they sleep (probably specific to the one room I was in on the front of the property). None of this was an issue for me, but worth mentioning FYI.

Fantastic location, right by the beach. A short walk to the wonderful restaurant at the surf club. Very quiet, clean and comfortable room, A great manager, very friendly and helpful with hints on activities and meal options. Would happily stay here again.

Minor quibble - the parking spaces are pretty tight, but we managed OK.

Beach within a couple of minutes' walk away which I loved. Receptionist helped me carry luggage upstairs which I appreciated and couldn't have done without her.

I was aware of everyone walking past my ranch slider because the clump-clump-clump noise of their tread was very obvious. Overall though, I was really happy there and couldn't hear anyone on either side of my room which is more important.

This property is exactly as advertised. My room was generous and the bed comfortable. Sky TV and adequate kitchen ammenities. Good secure car parking on site. A bonus was the proximity to the beach and Poverty Bay Golf course. Only a 2 minute drive to supermarket, cafes, restaurants and bars. Everything was spotlessly clean.

Facilities were a little tired but well maintained and vey clean.

Hotel was as described. Leigh was very helpful, friendly and informative. The room was spacious and access to the outside garden was easy. everything was clean and the room was bright and airy. Tea and coffee facilities in the kitchenette were appreciated and the full sized fridge a bonus. Check in and out was easy and hassle free.

All was good and we enjoyed our overnight stay. From a personal note, and I know it sounds like a precious whinge, but I found the bed to be too soft and the mattress topper did not help, the pillows were also just a little too flat, an alternative firm pillow would have been appreciated. Sorry, but you did ask.

Neat and tidy. Friendly and helpful front office staffs. Comfortable beds.

The room description said well equipped kitchenette. But disappointed to find there was no kitchenette. So no stove top, no sink (need to use bathroom basin for drinking water or to wash dish) etc. like in other Gisborne motels that advertise kitchenette. I appreciate Lisa acknowledging that room description wasn’t accurate.
