Location was perfect just across the road from the beach. Had everything we needed for a beach stay, boogie boards you could borrow, an outdoor shower to rinse off, shaded picnic area to sit and view the beach. Staff are all super friendly, it was just what we needed for a week at the beach.

The chairs were a little uncomfortable for lounging in and the bed isn't the most comfortable. But for the price its very fair and reasonable. If you want 5 star then you are going to be paying a lot more. We were still very happy with our stay and the beach, location, staff and having all amenities certainly made up for it.

The location is amazing, right across the road from a safe swimming beach. Also has the added bonus of a motel only grass area at the beach with picnic tables, chairs and a firepit under the shade of two big Pohutakawa trees. We spent a lot of time there and had frequent visits from Kereru's. It was a great space to enjoy the beach but not be out in the sun all day. Ohope turned on the sun for us - my favourite beach.

Easily accessed. The front deck for check in was un attended but had a lovely note saying to use there phone to ring direct to the receptionist who was lovely an directed me through everything. She wasn't needed as everything was sorted room was open an key left inside. Beautiful lil over night stay my daughter loved it too. Beach right at the driveway boggy boards to use lovely inside comfy beds. Was a great rest to reset our travels.

There wasn't much to fault if nothing at that.

Right over a quiet road from the beach and the motel had designated beach furniture on the beach as well as picnic table and chairs outside our unit. We were in room 2 which had a good view of the beach and easy parking. There was everything we needed in our room and a comfy bed. The owner allowed us to recharge our Tesla overnight so we gave her what we thought was the right amount for that. The room rate was very reasonable and we'll definitely want to return.

No coat hangers so we'll bring our own next time.

We had to rejig our trip a little due to road closures and ended up in Ohope. Such a beautiful little part of the world. The motel was quiet, comfortable and had everything you would need for a night or a week. The large rooms were simple but spotlessly clean and had a nice laid back feel. Reception wasn't manned when we arrived but no worries with instructions on how to get in and get settled.

No dining options in town (off season and monday night) and the foggy night time drive into Whakatane was frankly terrifying. Stock up before you get there!

The location is perfect; so easy to take the kids to the beach. We loved that it had its own little garden and also the quiet street. All the beds were super comfy and it was really quiet.

Didn’t realise there were amazing boogie boards available until later so would have been nice to know but that is another positive too really

The proximity to the beach was excellent.

We did end up popping to Briacoes to buy a frypan on sale as the one provided was very well used and food stuck to it, making it difficult to cook well. The floors also could have done with a thorough clean.

well laid out, clean and tidy, lots of space, very comfortable, nice shower, light, bright and sunny, lovely private space across the road on the beachfront, proximity to local shops and eateries, beds were comfy, … lots of good things to say about this place!

I would’ve preferred space for two vehicles, as my mother met me at the motel from a different city than where I was coming from so we had two cars, but it was absolutely fine. Not a big deal all in all :)

Exceeded our expectations. Every little thing was thought out, even down to an air dryer for your togs and towels. There was also tables and chairs right on the beach front reserved for guest so you can have your morning coffee right on the beach front...or your evening glass of wine. Very impressed and will be back to stay longer next time!

Fantastic location, super tidy, amazing layout!

The rooms are all facing into each other's yard so it was tricky feeling okay about "living" as the kids were a bit noisy before the went to bed. It was also really hard to heat the bedroom which made sleep hard on our smallest
