Everything exceeded our expectations and the breakfast provided was exceptional! The hosts were welcoming and helpful with anything asked, they could not have been more accommodating. The Pohutukawa Coast B & B is also in a great location with the beach just over the road and handy to many scenic attractions.

They only thing that was difficult for us was our bed was quite firm and we normally have a soft bed at home. Its such a personal thing and everyone is different in their choice of bed type. This was the only thing we could fault but like I said, that is our personal preference.

We spent one night here on our way from Coromandel east coast to Auckland. Great welcoming by Jaynet who server tea and home made cake. We could use a lovely lounge and veranda with sea view. In the evening after a lovely dinner at a nearby hotel, we sat and had a long talk with Peter and Jaynet and another couple staying there. So nice and homely, we even got offered a glass of wine. Breakfast was super nice. Highly recommended.

Beach was mostly stones and shells.

Superb location, outstanding breakfast. The entire well-heated studio with a private bathroom and TV. Huge refrigerator, tea, coffee, and milk in the room. But more importantly, a very nice couple of owners. We had a nice and interesting chat during breakfast.

No negative comments.

Janet and Peter were amazing hosts. Friendly and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable. Nice little courtyard off the bedroom. Breakfast on the balcony overlooking the beautiful Thorntons Bay. I would Highly recommend your visit to the Coromandel Peninsula be at Pohutukawa Coast BnB 😊

The view of the ocean was stunning, the host family and other guests were lovely, and the breakfast was yummy! :)

I didn’t expect to access our private room via the house entrance, although the communal spaces were maintained very well and tidy. :)

We had a large room with a view of the ocean; our own ensuite, large television, and a very comfortable bed. We were given a huge variety of delicious breakfast choices. Our hosts helped us with itineraries suitable for the length of our stay.

Nothing to dislike.

Wonderful view and excellent breakfast. Owners very obliging and gave good travel advice. Although Booking.com stated that this room had a shared bathroom it was not the case, the bathroom is private for that room but not en-suite.

Janet and her husband are the most wonderful friendly people I ever met while on a trip they accommodate us so we could leave our luggage earlier and the next day they prepared breakfast also early so we could have it before leaving. Then they had breakfast with us!. Beautiful house with great views from their deck.

That we could not open a window while sleeping to get some fresh air from outside

The room seemed noisy but in the morning I found out I had left a window open by mistake, so my own fault!
