We stayed 2 nights the first room we stayed in was amazing. Spacious as I had 3 kids with me, loved being able to plug my charger straight into the wall as I had forgot my wall plug, the shower was a nice pressure. Loved the shelves in the kitchen were able to hid my kids from late night snacking!! And the owners (I think) her name was Lee she is amazing, so lovely and accommodating, very kind person, brang a cot for both nights, best service I’ve experienced from any property I’ve stayed at before!! And for that reason I will choose Burwood everytime we stay in Whanganui 😊

Unfortunately the second night we stayed I was expecting a room like the first night, but it didn’t have much of the features I loved from the first room. Still overall good stay

Clean and comfortable beds, also the rooms and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The 3 sleeping areas were separate with doors between making sleeping peaceful. The bedding was comfortable with extra warm covers if they were needed.

For the price it was great. The bathroom area though was small. The shower started off fierce but luckily switched down softer when the taps were adjusted. Maybe a bedside shelf would be useful to enable specatcles etc to be closer. No breakfast was available and without a car and with shops too far for elderly people to walk to, meant we had to come with all our food.

A great bonus about this motel is the location, only a short walk from a number of eating places and supermarkets - so, park up at the motel, and walk to your favourite food restaurant, or go to the supermarket and buy your own kai to eat back at the motel. We had travelled a long distance by car, and arrived earlier than expected. A big thank you to the staff who allowed us early entry into our motel room - we were able to unpack, have a rest (as we are elderly), then go to town.

The fridge needs upgrading, as it was in need of defrosting. Other than that, nothing to complain about. Facilities were clean and tidy, and very roomy. Heating was excellent (though slightly confusing as there were two heat-pumps in the room but one was not working).

Great room, best i've stayed in in Whanganui. I'll stay here every time now. Spotless, peaceful, modern, easy parking, Netflix. Peanut Slab & lollies on the table was a nice touch! I arrived after reception closed and left before they opened the next day, but Patrick was very helpful on the phone and texted clear after hours instructions.

Only minor things, towel rail was a bit too high (I'm a small lady!), shower pressure could be better and hot water ran out after not that long. Individual toiletries preferable.

It was affordable and handy to the places I needed access to. Management was so accommodating when I needed to find a space for my niece’s family of 6. Patrick organised two adjoining rooms for them over two nights, at two hours notice. Amazing!

I would have liked a separation between the kitchen and the main room. There was a draft, because I like to keep the toilet window open, which usually wouldn’t be a problem. Perhaps even just a curtain would do. The heat pump helped though. Just a draft - because it’s that season.

The room was spacious and facilities excellent. I liked the kitchen area where everything was right within reach with plenty of room to prepare kai and to move around in. The bathroom was modern and spotless. Thank you to your cleaning staff. The couch comfortable, as was the bed. The room was warm, and the heat pump an added bonus. Parking was right off the road and right outside the room, which was great, and the area quiet. Thank you, we enjoyed our one night stay and the price was very reasonable 😀

I liked that seats were offered out the sliding door of the units to give more privacy to spend some chill time outside instead of in the carpark. It was clean, staff were really kind and helpful.

Maybe a small table and chair set up, like a 3 piece from the warehouse outside of the units - or a table of some sort. It’s a lovely place to sit and have a coffee but there was no table so we made one because there was a broken table laying in the bush outside our unit

The room was comfortable and very clean. All the basic amenities were there. Staff were very responsive and always helpful. Its location was good for access to Whanganui's attractions and restaurants.

The decor is looking a little tired and could be upgraded to make it a memorable experience. It would be nice to have a wider range of TV channels on offer other than a very basic package.

The motel room we had was brand new and nicely decorated. It was nice to have separate rooms for the parents and the kids. We had everything we needed.

It's a shame the laundry closes when the reception closes. We liked our room, the kitchen could have done with an extractor fan, the bedrooms could have done with hooks for us to hang towels, and the shower had a leak, but all this wasn't a big problem for one night.

It was clean, tidy and a block away from the main road with local shops, eateries and supermarkets. McDonald's and Burger King right on the corner. However you have everything you need in the room if you want to cook, stove top, microwave, toaster and utensils. Room was tidied daily and towels and reusable replaced while we were out. Love that!

I didn't mind it but the motel would be even better if it had a fresh lick of paint on the outside.
