We stayed in a cute little apartment on the lowest floor of the hotel. The whole place is cozy and feels warm thanks to all the natural materials used. Every interaction with the staff was pleasant, they were always looking for a satisfactory solution. Also, the waffles in the restaurant were an unexpected treat!

We were traveling with a dog and only booked pet-friendly accommodations for our trip. However, on arrival we were informed that dogs are not allowed in the apartments (even though there was no mention of this on Booking). Eventually, we paid 400NOK extra and stayed in the apartment we booked, but it certainly did not add to the peace of our holiday. There was only one pot and one pan in the kitchen of the apartment, so even cooking a basic pasta with sauce required logistical preparation. The staff tried to help us out by loaning something from their kitchen, but the induction stove did not like those. This is only a minor bug- once we knew what we were dealing with, we planned our meals to use only the available resources.

The room was comfortable had a sofa in with a small table but the star of the room was the bathroom!! Very modern indeed and clearly recently updated. The evening food was very good as was breakfast. The hotel is located on a hillside with loads of walking trails on the doorstep. If you are there for a couple of days might be worth to do the muskox excursion which we were not Aware of but would certainly have done if we had known about it. Everybody at reception spoke perfect English and were both very helpful and friendly.

All good no real negatives

Made welcome from the start by Emma. Beer was cheap by Norway standards. It seems the place is wooden structure and you can hear everything in adjoining rooms, especially footsteps on the creaky floors. However, as I had my dog travelling with me and there was no dog surcharge as is often the case, this was the best value stay I had. The views are great. No hot breakfast but think I am going to find that more common as I continue travelling north. I was here in the snow, my dog loved it, this would be great for skiing in winter and hiking in summer. The drive from Bergen was amazing. My dog loved the stuffed bear in the lower entrance.

Other guests may complain the rooms are not at their best, it's noisy. But it's a lodge, it adds to the charm and the noise means you wake when the first person does, so early to bed if it will bother you, then you can bother them. One bulb out above bed, could do with more lighting controls, but it's an old lodge.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. The hotel offers everything you need for outdoor activities, has generously sized rooms and good food. Its location away from the town centre and surrounded by nature is calm and relaxing. Alpine and XC ski areas are just a few steps away.

Restaurant has delicious dishes. Staff very available and nice. Very good breakfast too.

Found the room with a dirty mug on the sofa. Not a great bathroom, but ok. A little far from the town center but still manageable. Window tent was broken. Had to find a workaround to cover the window and sleep properly.

Big shoutout here to the superman behind the reception desk, or anywhere else really. He did a fantastic job! The location was beautiful, with an easy access (depending on the season) to walking paths and skiing. The restaurant was also really good. The room was great, with cozy beds.

It was a nice quiet location on the hill, staff were very friendly and helpful as arrived early due to lot of rain while riding, got me in my room and arrange a supply of hot drinks, had dinner in the restaurant and also breakfast in the morning.

There was nothing I didn’t like about the place.

This was like a ski chalet in the alps, big room with drying facilities and a small communal kitchen for you to use should you wish to self cater, or a restaurant if you did not. Room was a good size and as mentioned with heating to dry wet clothing and we had plenty. Breakfast was good and again continental but ample. Staff all very friendly and helpful.

Access road was gravel not best on a motorcycle in the wet, but appreciate that this is probably covered in snow most of the year.

The breakfast was very suitable. And I had a very good omelette for lunch too. Excellent location, very helpful and welcoming staff.

Everything about the accommodation was very good indeed as my scores above will testify. There was nothing wrong at all.

We loved the decor and feel of the property. The staff were delightful

Some extra facilities such as hair dryer, kettle or soap would have been nice. It’s ok if your Norwegian and can easily bring bits with you but not so great when bringing on flights
