The staff of Balay 8 served the BEST breakfast of the Philippines and took great care of us. This is a simple, but cozy inn with a personal touch. The AC was strong, the noise level low for the area. Walking distance from the Silay Plaza and mall, 10 min from the Bacoloc/Silay airport. Communal Kitchen can be used by guests.

We had flying ants in one of the rooms, but they disappeared.

The location is very convenient to the Silay Bacolod Airport. Good, Safe location.

Would have been nice if the air conditioner was running in the room before we got there. The weather was so stiflingly hot and humid outside and the room was very hot when we entered. I understand the need to save electricity and energy if the room is unoccupied but if you know that guests are coming, then the accomodation should be prepared accordingly. Otherwise, we like the place. We had questions about the history of the house and unfortunately, the housekeeper is unknowledgeable. No hot water the next day when we all needed to take a shower. I would have taken lukewarm but not super cold.

Staff went out of their way to provide exceptionally good breakfasts, with freshly brewed coffee too. It was a pleasure to stay in such a beautiful old property. All staff were welcoming and attentive to our needs. Excellent communication with host. Plenty of peace and quiet to enjoy the place. Excellent WiFi.

The water pressure for the shower was weak, but staff did try their best to rectify this.

The house caretakers were very accommodating and friendly very much likely to help guide your way to Bacolod and recommend places to eat and buses to ride. We had a lovely stay at the suite after our National ladies retreat. We were comfortable and had a relaxing stay. They even let us store our luggage in a separate room after our checkout time, which was such a relief for us travelers!

Nothing it was neat and clean. And the staff is friendly and helpful.

This homestay is conveniently located in Silay, next to a mall and near the road leading to the Bacolod-Silay airport. The communal room downstairs is good, and the one upstairs is even better. The aircon worked fine, it was excruciatingly hot outside.

The water pressure is limited for a shower. You'd better use the bucket, Malay-style.

Clean and orderly historical Hazienda style house with very nice and considerate staff. All around a very pleasant atmosphere. Also the bathroom was spacious and practical.

Just minor things like a road with a little traffic nearby but nothing bad and not too loud in total. Windows only to let light and air in in the room, so no view but pleasant.

I like how it is easy to find the place, easy to park, easy to talk to staff, how very likely the house, the ambiance of the house is like an old nd yet modern. Breakfast is so good especially the home-made corned beef. We rented 2 rooms on 2nd floor so it felt like it is ours for 2 nights, aircon worked, bedsheet are clean, towels are freshed, mineral water for whole day and their coffees.... mmmmm. We will defintely be back to this balay.

The water from faucet smells like rusty iron, staff said it came from deep well. The food is good but limited, so we always ended up eating more outside in the morning. I walk barefoot on 2nd floor to avoid to much noises and ended up having too dirty soles. Extra charges for towel when I thought they change our towels daily.

Free breakfast! It wasn't stated in the description so I was surprised there is! Also, the overall ambiance and comfort of the place is just really amazing.

The dresser had a lot of ants which quickly went up our things. We had to wipe them up. Also, the shower heater is defective.

The breakfast was good, filling, a good way to start the day and also a great way to get accostumed to the cusine and tastes of the country without going too overboard.

Location, homely, mature trees & plants surrounded the place very nature oriented.

Scheduling in changing the linens & towels in my room. But Lorna & Elsie is very obliging if ever I requested a towel.
