Gorgeous location and facility- wish we had been able to try the restaurant but we came on days that it was closed. Would recommend this space - our rooms were large and spacious, we had a little deck to enjoy as well as a kitchenette. Staff was incredibly warm and helpful and gave us great recommendations on places to eat and explore.

The floor was a little mildew-y just from the moisture within the space, not super strong but you could catch whiffs of it here and there. Otherwise everything was wonderful.

Cabins on quiet ground, a long way away from the road (the hotel is 10 minutes’ away from the town and a car is a must). Comfortable bed apart from the inflexible foam pillows. The room was furnished in a minimalistic way with sustainable material (which is great for the environment and we liked that). It was not luxurious, but it was nice and clean. Good rain shower in the bathroom. Very good breakfast: fresh food made on the premises (they have a farm) - jam, egg & bacon, some fresh fruit, pancakes, yogurt & muesli, homemade bread & cakes. Friendly staff, a nice exchange library and some board games you can borrow. Small swimming pool, but not heated (with 19°C water temperature only for the brave!).

The room smelt slightly of damp (it rained a lot the week we were on the island) and even the inside of the bed was a bit damp. The dinner in the restaurant was average and expensive. The food didn’t have much flavour and the portions were very small. We asked if we needed to order sides with our main course and we were told that it would be a substantial plate so we didn’t. We ordered fish and it came on a thin coulis of tomatoes and a spoonful of taramasalata, nothing else. We had better fish in other restaurants in the Azores & with vegetables for half the price. Strange considering their good breakfast. We paid close to €300 for 1 night, which is way overpriced.

Excellent place to get close to the nature and escape city noise. The room was in a detached house, private entry and own mini kitchen. We had a terrace facing the forest. The place is equipped with everything you need for a short stay. The breakfast was superb, a lot of dished cooked with local products. Excellent service and great experience. Recommending a chefs dinner at the restaurant, it was very sophisticated.

The breakfast was great but expensive. The location was beautiful and serene.

Our two rooms smelled like mold or mildew. There was a device that emitted a floral smell that was designed to mask the smell of the mildew (I assume) but it smelled worse than the mildew. Our bathroom window in 23 was hanging off one hinge and couldn't be opened and our coffee maker was broken. In unit 24 there was no coffee maker.

Drying clothes was a problem especially when staying for more than a few days - high humidity means clothes that are damp are hard to dry in the cabin. A dehumidifier would be a great addition

Beautifully located to enjoy the pleasures of fabulous Furnas. Located close to the lake on a gorgeous rural setting. We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant on the first night.

We didn’t self cater during our 2 night stay. Facilities to self cater pretty basic and functional.

Stunning setting with everything there built to fit it. Very pleasant and soothing all around. The staff were fantastic - so nice and helpful - and all the meals we ate were great. It's pricey but I'm glad to have spent a couple nights there.

Wonderful location, in the middle of the forest, close to beautiful lake, very peaceful. Nice breakfast, top class restaurant!

Quite expensive for what you get, breakfast could be even more luxurious (e.g., salmon) for the price. Hotel should clean up the area behind where the animals stay, there was trash lying about

Not great plant based options for breakfast- porridge and fruit ..the whole island is behind in offering plant based food, so was good we cook in our cabin

The property maintains a farm/garden on the premises that provide for the restaurant, which is phenomenal. Dinner is a must! The food is exquisite and the service from Diana and Miquel was exceptional. We loved wandering around to see the animals and herbs.

At this price point, breakfast should be included in our rate. This was the most expensive property of the six we visited during our ten-day stay, and all the other hotels provided a large breakfast buffet. The only other remote house that did not provide breakfast was 1/2 the price.
