excellent exceptional view from the terrace!!! pretty good room, not bad. good location.

well, actually it’s not the format of Quinta. you will have only your room and that’s it. usually in quinta you have free access to all shared territory and the hosts are very welcoming and invite you to seat near the fire, take a breakfast in the building. feel this atmosphere. here - no. breakfast they bring to the room which is not good because of the smell, near the table in the building they put sign “only fir staff, don’t cross”🙈 there is the living room with fire which is so good in the automi but they alway keep the room with no fire and music. again like a silent hint: “we don’t welcome you here”. the staff never (!) smile to you. no hot pot for tea and no fridge in the room. And no shared ones. you must ask the staff but they not happy with it)))

We loved everything about this hotel. Excellent location, very quiet and amazing views. The hotel has character, very quiet and the rooms perfectly adequate. The pool was great with amazing views and there were plenty of sun loungers to go around. The service was great, especially breakfast where they laid on a feast every morning for the 7 of us !! Lunch was quick and easy too and very well priced. There aren't too many places to eat locally but enough for a 3-4 day visit, with great local food at local prices. We were very happy with our stay and we will be going back I'm sure. A perfect place to lose yourself in peace and quiet for a few days - with the odd vineyard to visit too.

The view from the terrace is spectacular and the included breakfast was good quality/value considering there are limited options in the area. The pool also has a great view. Staff were friendly and provided good local recommendations for restaurants.

There is limited road parking. It may be difficult for some to carry luggage down to the property entrance if the driveway is full/unavailable for unloading. The rooms open to the same terrace- each room has its own chairs/table with divider between the others. This was not an issue at all, but if you are looking for a completely private balcony/terrace this is not that.

We stayed for only one night but definitely would go back for a couple or more days. The view is amazing, the pool, the calmness, the room, staff… we went by train and they organized a taxi to get us on the station. There are nice tradicional restaurantes on the village only 10min walking from the property.

We had a private room off to the side of the main house next to the pool. It was quaint and just perfect! The view was priceless. We were able to choose the breakfast brought to our private patio each morning and everything was delicious down to the fresh squeezed orange juice. We highly recommend this iconic villa in beautiful Duro Valley. Found a lovely quinta for wine tasting at St. Teresa winery just a short drive away.

Magnificent view from the room's private terrace. The terrace came with chairs and a table - which we used to sit and just take in the views. The room was large and comfortable - as was the bathroom. The pool was lovely - an infinity pool overlooking the river valley. The breakfast was delivered each morning fresh to our room - it was delicious and hearty. When we asked for more coffee it was provided the next day in our basket. We had a lovely time and I can't wait to return.

minor - a kettle to heat water in the room would be great.

Our room (like most) had chairs and a table outside our door which overlooks the Douro Valley. Breakfast is brought to your room every morning and it is very peaceful to eat, relax and enjoy the view. For us, this was the reason we stayed here. The easy mornings were a highlight of the trip. The hotel is also located near many vineyards just a short drive away. The owners and staff are very nice.

The pillows were very uncomfortable - our necks hurt everyday (but the beds were nice). The shower is extremely tight and the water did not drain properly one day.

The breakfast was great and prepared to order. The table setting and china etc were beautiful. This place is all about the view. It was absolutely stunning and our favorite of our two weeks in Portugal. The staff was very attentive and helpful. We would definitely go back and stay longer.

I wish I would have realized they had wine for sale. We didn’t read the info sheet until the morning we left, which is our fault. We brought our own wine down to enjoy by the fire both nights and didn’t realize we were supposed to purchase theirs. We felt like jerks. Our fault for not paying more attention, but perhaps make that more obvious for oblivious travelers. 😊

You cannot capture in a picture the beauty of Casa De Canilhas. The view was beyond what I expected. the pool and landscaping were well kept. we stayed in a separate quest house with our own terrace. Breakfast was delivered in a basket with so many delicious fruits cheeses and breads. The staff was kind and helpful but in the background during our stay. it felt like we were at our own vacation retreat with friends! We met a few other couples when we were there and it was wonderful to sit around the pool drink wine and enjoy the view!!

View from the room was beautiful- overlooked the river . Lots of choice for breakfast with fresh fruits and juice. The hamburgers (snacks) were scrumptious, washed down by excellent wine sitting in front of the open fire. The staff were very attentive and pleasant.

The room was a little cold , but comfortable.
