The receptionist was super charming and spoke very good German and the entire staff was very friendly. The interior of the former bank villa is very tasteful. The breakfast was very good, there was something to suit everyone even special requests are fulfilled. Free parking directly in front of the house was also no problem. The central location is really great. We had absolutely nothing to complain about in the 2 nights we spent there.

located near to old town - 10 or so minutes walk. lovely old building with an olde world atmosphere. staff could not have been nicer or more willing to help and advise. wonderful breakfast provided. no restaurant in the hotel but an excellent greek restaurant nearby, Amanda. directed there by hotel it had the best tapas and seafood. both hotel and restaurant highly recommended if you want something different and special.

Fantastic warm and friendly staff, who made as if any request was no problem. They were always proactive in trying to help, rather than hang back and do nothing until asked. Immaculate decor and with period furniture was very nice. Location was on a quiet back street, but still very close to the city centre, tram, buses or metro lines if needed. The room was massive, as was the bathroom and I found it to be very comfortable.

It is an old house with old plumbing, so it takes a very long time for the hot water to flow out of the tap. They even have a sign to explain this to guests and I was okay with it. Also the shower tube, it looks very nice but a little cramped.

The hotel had old world grandeur and character. Our room was very spacious and clean with very quiet and effective AC. Despite our own slightly creaky floor very little noise could be heard from outside our room. Oana, on reception, and Diona, in the dining room, were both very friendly and helpful. The night receptionist, sorry can't remember your name, made our late check in very straightforward and was very welcoming.

We arrived late at night and on first impressions, the area where the hotel is located was a bit worrying, several run down buildings! In daylight much less so, however, we never had any issues regardless of when we came or went from the hotel! The hotel is only a very short walk from main streets.

Lovely atmospheric hotel only a short walk from old town Bucharest. Large room, very comfortable beds. Everywhere spotlessly clean. Nice bathrooms. We stayed during a period of excessive heat and our room on the first night was very hot as the air con unit wasn't effective for the room- I mentioned in passing and the lovely lady at reception found us a more airy room for our second night- I didn't expect this as I just accepted it was particularly hot, but really appreciated the change which was better. She was also really helpful in recommending things to do- and very welcoming.

Breakfast buffet had a reasonable choice. On our first morning it wasn't being replenished so well, the eggs were cold and we were not offered a coffee (so we didn't know it was on offer). The next morning the staffing was different and we were brought a coffee and buffet better. The area around can look unsafe to walk at night, but and other guests felt safe walking back from old town at night. It sometimes took 10 minutes to get the front gate opened at night (you have to ring the bell), but that was ok.

The hotel is beautiful, from the entrance to the rooms very well decorated and furnished to a high standard. The lady who runs breakfast was absolutely wonderful, she couldn’t do enough for us. We had early morning trips and she made up a take away bag for us and made sure we had tea and coffee before we left. She really is a gem and deserves to be recognised for her hard work. The room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was lovely with the added bonus of robes and slippers.

The room was very hot but we just opened a window. Breakfast doesn’t start until 8am and most of the trips leave at 7.30/7.45am. The street directly outside the hotel is currently under construction and the workers started early! It was difficult to access via the street at points due to the workers however this is not the fault of the hotel and obviously is not an ongoing issue.

the building was amazing with beautiful history, it was comfortable close the old city! the staff was friendly especially that sir in the bar!! if I come back I’ll prefer you again!!! value for money

if I have to say something, that will be to change the mattress because it was the only con in the hotel ..

Located very close to the old center on a peaceful street. There’s a big convenience store 6 minutes away and of course lots of places to eat. The room is equipped well with all the basic amenities and they have some rather luxurious services like room service, hotel bar, laundry service(they pick up your clothes, wash and dry and iron them and deliver it back). The prices for these services are quite steep but overall it’s a good place with charming mood.

Because the house is 100 years old, the thermal plant is located far and it takes a while until hot water comes(around 10 minutes). There is a sign warning you about this in bathroom so it’s alright,m

The hotel, as the title says, is a boutique type. A building from the golden times of Bucharest is an attraction by itself. The breakfast included all essential elements and was nicely assisted by the staff. There are easy options to find good restaurants in the neighborhood, but the center is also in the walking distance.

Though, not a big issue, but the hotel could invest in another coffee machine in the breakfast room. It took an effort from the staff to please the guests with enough coffee. The internet connection could be upgraded; I faced some issues with my calls.

The hotel itself is amazing, staying there feels like a short trip into one of Mircea Eliade’s fantastic stories. I highly recommend it for an authentic Romanian experience.

The property is great, but the staff needs improvement. Offering friendly service is one thing, having extended (and definitely unwanted on our side) conversations with the guests is another. I also think that it is totally inappropriate to call a guest “girlie” regardless of age (and I’m in my forties), or to respond to a request not to have the room cleaned with “Oh, you must have underwear all over the room!” My friend and I got to the point of coming up with ideas to avoid interaction with one of the daytime lady receptionists.
