The food was exceptional at La Fuega. Service at all bars and restaurants was beyond our expectations. The front desk staff was nice and accommodating.

The room was a little loud. Music from Neighboring clubs. Not much the resort could do about that.

Location was perfect for first time visitors; got to see the real Playa a few blocks away on Avenue 5 and the tourist area which was lovely and catered to dining and beach. Our hotel had vigilant security in all entrances and along the beachfronts, which was public closer to the water. Food at Mahekal was wonderful❣️

I would have really appreciated a hotel shuttle to and from the airport - transportation is a must and our arrival transport was short handed and not able to accommodate our late arrival; however our departure transport was relaxing and perfect.

Great location. Fantastic staff everyone was really friendly and wanted to do anything they could to help. Beautiful setting.

The pools could have done with more regular cleaning (as there tended to be dead insects in the pool by the afternoon - totally understandable and easily fixed by more regular scooping). Would also benefit from more transparency around pricing for the set menu (we paid for the room only and ate at the restaurants a few times - the food was very good but the set menu was expensive and not clear from the menu itself). Would recommend the breakfasts though which worked out about £20 per person and were excellent.

Perfect location, right on the beach - Great breakfast - Excellent facilities such as swimming pools (3) restaurants, bars and even Starbucks on site - Large room, with great furnishing - Felt very safe in the heart of Playa

I had an issue with the ceiling leaking due to the rain. Then it took them a whole day to change my room, despute to multiple follow ups from me. Very frustrating experience, front desk staff not very helpful - Staff were unprofessional and at one time rude - tiny gym and no other faciltieis like sauna, steam room etc

Staff, infrastructure, very comfortable beds, the place was very well maintained, modern installations, breakfast is delicious, they have lots of variety. The cocktails are very good as well. The check in was very fast and easy to communicate with the staff.

They make every guest sign the pool rules; however, they don't really have anyone checking and forcing people to respect them. We had an issue with a very disrespectful Mexican family and their kids, and we did not see anyone from the hotel staff verifying that the rules were applied. The beach is not very pretty, and the bed suns area is quite small, you need to wake up very early to reserve your spot as there are not enough places for all the guests. My husband forgot in the pool area his t-shirt and it was never found, and we just received an answer like : "I don't know what happened there" and that was it. So be careful with your belongings.

This was a superior stay. There was nothing about this beautiful place that wasn't done well. The location is the stand out exceptional quality. We stayed in a palapas on the ocean front and it was wonderful. Steps to the beach with perfect swimming. Hammocks and table on our porch to take in the view. The room was beautifully decorated and housecleaning came by daily and left beautiful decorations. There were thoughtful touches throughout our stay there, including chocolate turtles left to say goodbye. The grounds were immaculately kept, ample relaxed entertainment including pool, chess, swim up bars, a boutique, an onsite coffee shop, spa, and bikes available. The breakfast and dinner buffets were rich, varied, and fresh. Staff was impeccable with courtesy, respect, and helpfulness. We felt genuinely welcome and cared for while we were there.

There was nothing not to love about the grounds, room, staff, and location. The only slight negative was the price - it was not cheap. But I did feel we got what we paid for with our experience staying there.

The property was beautiful and Tulum-like vibes , the beach area was so cute and beach cleaned everyday- the location is also right on the beach and on a street with lots of amazing food! There’s security on site making sure only guests enter the property.

Optional experiences could have been explained better. We saw a woman there painting pottery every day and on the last day we were there we found out it was an experience the hotel offered for people that wanted to paint something. I wish I had known to take advantage of this fun thing. We never saw guests there enjoying the activity just the facilitator alone…

The location at the beach with the palm trees is brilliant. The parc is beautiful and lushious green. The houses were clean authentic and very comfortable.

When you book for one night for USD 350,- you receive 2 coffees in your room as a service. GREAT. When you book more than one night in one timet you somewhere loose this service in the next few days. This is an example of bad service. For USD 350,- a night this should be included. There was a smell nearby the beachand our cottage like there was an open sour/ anaerobe bacterias/poop?? That was kind of unpleasant.

The staff and management were exceptional during our trip to Playa Del Carmen. They were attentive and respectful. We had 2 semi-minor episodes that occurred, but because of their resourcefulness and friendliness, our issues were resolved beyond expectation. Our experience with one particular hostess was amazing! She went above and beyond her duty with compassion and care. She quickly became a part of our extended family during our stay. She was awesome! Her name is Sophia, and we will miss her smile as we have now left this amazing place. The location is smack in the middle of a good busy area, but the location is still secluded and peaceful, it sits on the coast with sand separating the property from the ocean. Our room placed us with an ocean view from our patio and the beach 200 ft from our room door. It was great. Until next time💜

The humidity was challenging, but jumping in the ocean and pools helped. Mosquitos..ugh..

Loved this resort. Celebrated my 60th birthday with a group of 9-17 depending on the day and couldn’t have picked a better place. The whole staff was incredible, friendly, and helped out with the celebration dinner on our last night. The resort is beautiful and the perfect size. I don’t care for big resorts so really appreciated the bungalow accommodations. The room was beautifully decorated and clean. The toilet is typical for this area, don’t expect a powerful flush. I appreciated the no TVs in the rooms. The location in PDC was convenient to shops and restaurants. There are some beach clubs nearby but the I wasn’t bothered by any noise. The beach is not large and most of it is public but plenty of lounge chairs to use. The pools were nice and we always had great service for ordering food and drinks. I loved my stay. It made my celebration magical! Thank you Mahekal Beach Resort!

Only 2 restaurants but if there were more, it would have meant a larger resort which I did not want so I won’t complain.
