Location, the room amenities, and comfort.
We reported on Sunday morning that the toilet was very slow flushing, and needed attention. When we got back to the room Sunday evening, nothing had been done, and there was no maintenance staff to help. We had to go to the front desk and pick up a plunger ourselves and return it when we were done. When we ate in the pub Saturday night, we sat between 5 and 10 minutes with no one appearing to wait on us. When the waitress finally showed up, she pretended that she helping us out by taking our order, implying that the other servers were lazy.

A historic hotel which has a restaurant, bar, spa, gift shop attached. The communal areas in the lobby were relaxed and decorated with interesting historic items and the staff at the reception were friendly and helpful. Parking was plentiful and easy. The bar served a good range of beers and food. Breakfast in the restaurant was particularly good for both services and food. Beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. The hotel is well located to the other shops and attractions in Berkeley Springs.
Our rooms were in a separate building which (while comfortable) were a little dated in terms of the decoration and furnishings.

I loved being in the heart of Berkley Springs and walkable to all local attractions in the business district. Staff went above and beyond. We were booked for one night halfway to another destination. However, our next night's plan was canceled so we wanted to book a second night at the Inn. They put us right in. Did not have to move rooms and at the same rate as the first, no gauging. Rooms were mostly updated and spacious. I love the long bench in the room for bag elevation and shoe stowing beneath.
Parking is challenging. Between the restaurant and event center, it was tough. Although the room itself was spacious, the bathroom was VERY tight. Wish the door swung out instead of in. Shower curtain liner was "mildewey." But I think they are in every single hotel I have ever stayed.

Very quaint and surprisingly quiet. Wonderful place if you're looking for a more vintage and colloquial experience. All of the staff we interacted with were very friendly, personable, courteous, and helpful. The main section of the hotel harkens of days gone by. Rustic, but well maintained. The restaurant was surprisingly good. The Baked Brie was very well prepared and presented. And, yes, it was delicious! My wife was very pleased with the Chicken Christy. I had the Classic Ruben. Spot on and very tasty! The inn has two sections; the Historic Inn, which is the original main building, and the West Inn, located behind the main building. As this was our first visit to Berkley Springs, we decided to book a room in the West Inn to test the waters (...no pun intended). The rooms in the West Inn are standard rooms with two Queen sized beds. Our room was clean and comfortable. No issues. With our next visit, we'll definitely be booking a room in the Historic Inn! The property literally ajoins the Berkley Springs bathhouse, outdoor natural spring pools, the museum, and park. There's plenty of shopping. Lots of quaint shops. All within easy walking distance from the inn. The township itself is very active but surprisingly quiet overall. There seems to be a strong sense of community. Lots of local activities such as arts & crafts in the park, community farmers market, etc.,. So, we had a wonderful first visit to Berkley Springs for a weekend getawat, and we're very happy with the Country Inn. We'll definitely visit again!

The location was great, the inn was charming, the garden where you could have a cocktail was lovely.
Please understand I have been in the hospitality industry 40 plus years… so I notice things. The bed was lovely, but such an ornate carved headboard needs constant dusting. Ours was VERY dusty. Guests travel with more and more electronic devices (CPAP, Phones, laptops) the outlets on each side of the bed requires each of us to make a choice of what to unplug so that we could plug in! A simple update to the lighting that includes built in outlets would solve that issue. I ordered a martini to enjoy in your garden. Great service, well chilled, but your olives were off. Actually very off, to the point that I had to spit it out. Not that I’m too old to climb steps, but I could see where someone more elderly than I may require a porter to help lug their luggage upstairs, none was offered.

While this is an older facility, it was very clean. The rooms were large. Temperature was good. Location, right next to the Berkley Springs state park, was fantastic. The food in the restaurant was also good. The garden areas around the hotel had lots of little sitting places. I would easily stay there again.
The staff were fine, just not stellar. The front desk staff met my question with a huge sigh before answering. The wait staff in the restaurant was reluctant to ask about a variation from the printed bar menu and the bartender disappeared for at least 7-8 minutes after we placed an order in the bar before returning and then beginning to work on it. It just seemed a little off.

PERFECT location, just steps from bath house and park, where we enjoyed an antique car show. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. Decorating style is traditional, some would say “worn and dowdy”. But it suited me.
Inn has not even started on energy conservation. For example, most places now have big containers of shampoo, body wash, etc. but Inn is still distributing thousands of tiny, non-recyclable single-servings. Not a recycle bin in sight ANYWHERE. Plantings in extensive gardens are invasive and non-natives, offering nothing to native pollinators. I could go on.

Overall, a very cool place to stay, right next to the Berkley Springs State Park and the Spa at the park. Everything in the town is close to the hotel. The room was pretty big and spacious. The matress was great...normally have issues with hotel matresses amd not feeling great after waking up. We were in the building behind the main building and it was pouring rain the next morning, but they had a covered walked way to get to the lobby and restaurant. Also, was able to plug in my car to get a few more miles in one of there 3 EV spots. Resaurant served great food and the cost was average when comparing around town. The Staff were very pleasent and welcoming.
The rooms were a bit dated with only a few outlets in the room, so it was a bit of a hasle plugging in our phones and watches. Toilet was oddly placed in the bathroom but functional.

The room setup is great. Lots of space for luggage. Bathroom is well appointed with hair dryer, soaps, shampoo and conditioner. Shower is roomy, with very good water pressure. Beds are comfortable. Food in the restaurant was good, especially the Sunday brunch. On the wall in the hallway near our room was a framed History of The Country Inn of Berkeley Springs.
The clerk at the desk when we checked in was very accommodating, in that she was able to book us for two nights. I had inadvertently only booked one night. However, her directions on how to get to our room (in a separate building) were not very clear. She spoke very fast. A little map would have been helpful.

The staff were friendly; the restaurant was good; the location for what we wished to do was great as we could walk to all the places we wished to go; the bed was very comfortable and room quite clean.
The room was large and it would have been nice to have comfortable furniture to sit or lounge on, like cloth armchair with an ottoman or a loveseat. That would make it a lot better. Also, the Wi-Fi signal was non-existent in the room (we were in the Westin bldg behind the main inn), so that was disappointing.
