When we arrived we were allocated Room 103. It was a dump, at ground level with security grills on the door to the veranda. It looked like a jail cell. I refused to accept the room. After making a fuss, I was allocated Room 301 on the third floor. This met my expectations. The room was adequate, clean but with a relatively small bathroom but had a good sized veranda with a superb view over the city of Malaga.

We planned to use the restaurant but the menu was terrible, so consequently we chose the bar menu. The hamburger was okay but ridiculously overpriced. My wife ordered a salad which when it arrived, was not what she ordered and had to be sent back. The second night, we bought salads from Carrefours downtown and ate that on our veranda overlooking the city. Much nicer than the restaurant salad and a fraction of the cost. Btw, I’m from Australia, not Hongkong as stated by Booking.com

Lovely room with balcony and fabulous view of the sprawling town and port below. Of course with such an elevated panoramic view comes the steep climb, but we took the well trodden path down from the castle and enjoyed the views as we descended in no more than 15 minutes and enjoyed the hourly no. 35 bus back up at the end of the day. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The breakfast on the 3rd floor restaurant, again with gorgeous views, served delicious coffee with hot steaming milk at your table and fresh orange juice was in plentiful supply. We even managed breakfast on the terrace in the sunshine on the 20th December!

We love Malaga and have stayed in the historic centre on a number of occasions. This short trip was a birthday treat and was well worth staying at the Parador. The views from the balcony were wonderful. The room was spacious as was the bathroom. The matresses were extremely comfortable. For those not aware the Parador is at the top of a hill and not an easy walk to and from the centre but that should not put you off staying there. We walked down the hill but got a taxi back which cost about €6. We are already planning to return next year.

Everything!! the location - amazing views the restaurant - fabulous food the staff - helpful and friendly, seemed happy in their work. our balcony - so lovely we sat there every day. short uphill walk to the castle, well worth a visit short downhill walk to the fortress and city

- the air con could have been better, but we opened the balcony door so no problem. - my biggest issue with hotels is lack of coat hangers and hanging space - plenty of hangers but half couldn't be used as the set of drawers and safe prevented it.🥴 - would have preferred a walk in shower

Anyone that has visited this hotel simply for a drink and the iconic views will know that it occupies a privileged position that the new wave of Málaga hotels can only dream about. The rooms are large, comfortably furnished in a traditional Spanish style, with spacious bathrooms and I believe every room has balcony with a table and chairs. The well-stocked bar is popular with locals as well as residents and the restaurant offers inventive twists on the Spanish classics. With fantastic views of the city, the superyacht-laden port and the coastline - in both directions - it really is the perfect base from which to explore the city and its hundreds (thousands?) of bars and restaurants and many cultural attractions. The hotel also offers free parking but for those without transport, the heart of the city is a gentle stroll down hill on the scenic path past the Gibralfaro castle and the Alcazaba (somewhat like a mini Alhambra). If the thought of walking back up to the hotel is too much to contemplate after dinner, there is a regular bus service which stops at the entrance to the hotel, while night owls will find Uber competitive. In short, almost the perfect hotel.

While free parking in such a busy city is obviously a great boon to those arriving by car, the parking spaces are very, very narrow and don't seem to take account of how cars seem to have grown in size in recent years. I have a suggestion: given how popular the bar is with locals - and how much parking is available - would it not be possible to make parking in the immediate vicinity of the hotel 'Resident Only' and make the spaces a more comfortable size. I say this having been penalised by my car hire company for a scrape on the rear wing of my vehicle, which certainly wasn't there when we parked the car on our last evening at the hotel.

Cleanliness of all areas. efficiency of staff in all areas, location of hotel Breakfast exceptional and plenty to choose from evening menu. Appreciated that my birthday was remembered. Special mention of Elena on reception both on arrival and ensured our bill was ready the evening before our early departure the following day,

Bathroom could do with refurbishing, separate shower for those struggling climbing in the bath, I managed but needed help from my partner. It would have been helpful to have had prior notice of this. There seemed to be different staff on reception and in the restaurant and not all staff wore name badges and did not always introduce themselves.

Superb location high above the city, next to the Gibralfaro castle, with great views. All the rooms, as far as I can tell, have the same view of the port and old city. Bedroom was large and very well appointed, with chairs and table on a small private terrace; roof-top pool; large bar with inside and outside sitting areas; very good breakfast choice. For what you get, it's decent value too.

The only shame was that on the first evening there was a rock concert at the city bullring - a good kilometre away and 100s of metres below the hotel, but the music was so loud (the sort you feel as much as hear) that, far less attempting to sleep, even watching TV wasn't possible. It finished before midnight and we didn't have an early start, so no great problem, but make sure you check events at the Plaza de Toros (La Malagueta) before booking the parador (or anywhere nearby) if you like to get to sleep early. Then again, if you like early nights, Spain probably isn't your ideal destination!

On a hilltop, all rooms have a wonderful view / balcony overlooking the city, harbour en sea below. Room was what can be expected of a hotel in this price range. it's a steep track down to the beach or city center but there is also a (regular) bus service. Breakfast was fine and what I expected.

Check in went a bit strange because someone had stuck the sir name of my partner onto my name although I made the booking. So it took a little whie to find my booking. But apart form that everything was smooth and people weer friendly.

Room was very comfortable and very clean. Large Bathroom with excellent shower water pressure. No bath. Reception very friendly and the room was offered on our arrival, even though we arrived before check-in time. Lovely view and every room has a balcony. Pool was lovely - we were at the time of the year were it was likely a bit fresh for most people, and as a result it was not busy, The hotel provided towels for the pool. Good WIFI connectivity. Excellent breakfast, buffet with many choices.

English channels on TV were not receiving the signal and no other foreign channels available. Chrome Cast available but we didn't try it. The noise goes up the hill and maybe bounces of the castle walls, so a constant roaring noise from the cruise boats on the balcony.

The staff at this hotel were incredible and could not be more helpful or friendly an absolute credit to the hotel. The view from our room on the first floor was incredible and could not get tired of it. Highly recommend this hotel for anybody travelling to Malaga - an absolute little gem!!!!

The only criticism I could find would be the breakfast was very limited for the price and one tip for the hotel would be to offer a drink service at the pool even if it was just for a happy hour maybe 4 pm to 5 pm.
