The chateau is beautiful, full of character and history. The welcome was very warm. Bedroom and bathroom excellent. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was of a high standard.

We were aware that dinner was not served at the chateaux so had a large lunch and took wine and cheese to eat outside the property in the early evening. The website pictures show the outside tables and chairs with food and drink. However, when we mentioned this to Isabelle we were told No food or drink to be consumed outside or inside the chateau. She did recommend a local restaurant for the evening which was excellent, however we felt forced to do this. It begs the question that if guests wanted to spend the day around the lovely outdoor pool then what would they eat and/or drink! Whilst the hostess was lovely, very helpful and friendly we did find her a little too attentive.

Château Ratou far exceeded my expectations. I initially got convinced to stay for a couple of nights there after seeing the pictures and excellent ratings, but I did not expect the extraordinary experience that awaited me. From the wonderful hosts to the castle, atmosphere and comfort (did I mention the breakfast was wonderful?), everything was great from the minute I arrived to the time I left (the owners even walked me to my car to say goodbye). It's easy to tell they love what they are doing, and welcoming people to share this "style de vie à la française" that is so unique. I would stay again without hesitation!

Everything was perfect!

The hosts were very friendly, attentive and went out of their way to ensure the stay was as enjoyable as possible. The welcome glass of champagne was enjoyable. This included driving us to our resturant and back, which was very much appreciated as we wanted to enjoy a wine without having to drive. The resturant recommendation was perfect - a superb culinary experience. The house and grounds are beautifully kept. The decor is magnificient with many old family pieces on display. Care is needed given the history of the many pieces and this adds to the experience.

Everything was perfect: the house, full of precious antique furniture and fine china, the spacious garden with a swimming pull and a lake, a French breakfast with freshly baked croissants and home-made marmalade. we are so thankful to the owners, gorgeous Madame Isabel and her husband for making our vacations perfect. Highly recommended!!! And it is only 15 min from Toulouse, so it is a great option to visit the busy city and spend a night in a quite and ambient countryside.

Everything! The decor, the history of the property, the hosts, the fireplace, the wonderful surroundings- I could go on and on! It really is an amazing place to be and spend a few nights. The dining room and parlor also impressive.

The only thing that underwhelmed a little was the bathroom in our room which was not the nicest ever and even a little old but honestly it is to be expected that some facilities will inevitably suffer the test of time. Even so the bathtub was quite large and comfortable!

We felt like in a dream castle and museum at the same time. The hosts were perfect - very friendly, kind and we engaged in an interesting conversation about the property and history. The room was simply beautiful, clean and cosy. The whole house was astonishing, perfectly taken care of and with beautiful pieces of decorations and art. Isabella is an amazing lady, who gives the house a soft touch and we loved how she cared for everything with passion. The music in the house made it magical and the breakfast we enjoyed a lot as well. Pierre was a friendly host who supported us and recommended a great restaurant close by. We enjoyed a swim upon arrival and the hosts were unbelievably kind to prepare a romantic table outside in the garden with candle lights at night.

We got scared by the loud noise of the toilet flush. So the first time was quite interesting but again, it’s an old house :-) There is a road close by that could be Heard- a little bit but not very much.

This is a stunning property, absolutely beautiful, the taste and every detail of our accommodation was simply outstanding. Isabelle and Pierre - the Chateau owners, are so hospitable and so helpful, very proud of their home and shared a lot of interesting detail about the history of the Chateau, its heritage and plans for the future. Due to flights disruptions we arrived quite late and were welcomed like family. We loved absolutely everything and our first breakfast so beautifully prepared by Isabelle was unforgettable. We will definitely be back. Thank you for an unforgettable experience.

Isabelle and Pierre were perfect hosts. Sleeping and eating amid the owner’s furnishings which have been in their families for many generations was a special treat, and it was all comfortable and clean and up to date as well. The real « vie de chateau « .

There was nothing we did not like, but wished we had had time to use the lovely pool. It would have been good though to have one croissant per person.

The decoration of the property was amazing. We had a welcomes drink and superb welcome by the hosts. They where very friendly. The breakfast fast mind blowing, fully in chateau style. A stay we will never forget!

Great pool, pretty chateau and beautiful setting.

I would have liked to have a much better system to dry the pool and bath towels. Both stayed wet throughout the stay.
