Excellent brand new hotel in Kyoto with spacious rooms and comfortable beds (a rarity in Japan!). Our room was so big compared to every other hotel we stayed at, we even had a table and chairs which was perfect for those days where you just felt like a bit of convenience store dinner after a long day out in Kyoto. Excellent large bathroom space and area for suitcases in the front entrance. Ammenities were provided, there was laundry facilities, a luggage hold, and the staff all spoke English really well and were attentive and great.

Our window was frosted so we couldn’t see out or open it. It was ok but I would’ve preferred to not have frosted glass. The hotel did not have capability of sending luggage to next hotel or airport which meant lugging out suitcases to a nearby convenience store. For such a great modern hotel offering takuhaibin this would’ve been the icing on the cake.

Room design was modern, very spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Hotel location was quiet (no sound pollution) so it was pleasant not to hear cars/busy street noise.

Not a huge issue, but there was no bottled water provided- however there is a vending machine in front of the hotel to buy water. It was a fair walk to/from the nearest train/subway station- I would probably stay elsewhere next time for a more convenient location.

- good size of the room and bathroom, with some storing spaces; which good for longer stays - nice quality cleaning products offered to customers (shampoo, etc) - good size and great central positioning of the TV (makes it a nice entertainment experience in bed, after a long day) - friendly staff, always smiling and happy to help - good location, close to restaurants, bars or supermarkets and just 20 min walking to Gion neighborhood - nice amenities: liked to have the possibility to get on our own new towels, tea, a vanity kit etc., from the hallway, close to our room, whenever needed - the sustainability focus of the hotel - cleanses standards were great

- internet experience could be improved (limited bandwidth and IP changing every few minutes are not offering the best digital experience) - No coffee available at this hotel (you have to go to another locations to buy coffee in the morning) - No beverages vending machines on the premises

While the elevator might be a bit warm for some guests, it's a minor inconvenience compared to the overall positive experience

Location ! Super modern ! Gym 8am-8pm. Super comfy beds and bathroom is very clean. Modern locks with code so no keys are needed. Walking distance from the lively places. The neighborhood is beautiful restaurants and cosy breakfast places.

It looks nothing from the outside, but inside is another matter. It is a modern place in very good order. Our Residence Spacious room was large and well equipped. They don’t provide breakfast, but that wasn’t an issue for us. There are a couple of good supermarkets very close by and a couple of bakeries so we could do our own. Also the room had a good seating area with dining table. The only downside would be the view. The window is frosted since there is nothing to look at outside. That wasn’t an issue either since most city hotels have little to look at out of the window anyway. There is a good gym if you want to keep fit. Location was good - a 10 minute walk to the underground station and local train station, plus quick access to the bus network, makes it easy to get to the major tourist sights. All the staff were particularly helpful. Almost forgot - they have a great secure luggage storage area and it is free.

There is plenty to like in Cabin Taka. The beds were REALLY comfortable. The walk in shower is lovely. A small table and two chairs makes it homely. Only cleaning every third day but towels, toilet paper, teabags is out in the hall on every floor for guests to pick up when needed. There are washing machines and dryers on two floors that you can use for a small fee. The location is perfect. Nikishi market is at a close walking distanse and there are bakery's, restaurants and cafés close by the hotel. Buses for Koyto station is only about 400 meters away and there are plenty of buses, we never had to wait for long. The staff were always friendly and helpful.

The only thing that would make it even better Is a safe in the room.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at this bright and very spacious hotel. It’s situated in a great location - quiet area but close to a lot of cute restaurants and cafes and the main shopping street. Front desk team are friendly and our room was ready early. Bathroom is excellent.

The beds were very hard - my partner had a lot of trouble sleeping especially after all the walking. It would be great if a mattress topper could be available upon request.

The location was great for exploring Kyoto. Our room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with all necessary amenities and a fantastic bathroom. The online check-in process was easy and super convenient – you don’t even have to go to the front desk. Laundry facilities and the option to just pick up towels etc. on each floor were great as well.

The only downside was the windows, which couldn’t be opened and were covered with frosted film. We read this beforehand, so it wasn’t a big issue, but having the option to open a window or at least have a look outside would be a big bonus.
