Great location for first rate pizza, noodles and hamburgers, lol. We were bringing my daughter to Boston to start grad school, and these are her main food groups. Very clean, quiet, comfortable room. Wonderful hot shower. Staff was fantastic. Brendan went out his way to resolve a thorny problem with Booking. All other staff was always helpful and courteous. Will definitely book again, when I'm back to visit my daughter.

It was all great. Parking a little pricey, but not prohibitive. Maybe a refrigerator in the room would be nice, as all portions in local restaurants are hungry student size. But you can ask for a mini fridge, which I did, and one was provided, free of charge.

The location of the hotel is perfect - just across the street from the Porter T station and the shopping center with Target, Star Market, Panera, CVS, and anything else you may need. Porter is only one station away from Harvard Square and between is Cambridge Commons, Harvard Law School, Harvard Museum of Natural Sciences, and Lesley University. I thought the bed and pillows were super comfortable. The staff was helpful and courteous and I was able to check in very early at 10:00 am which was a huge help to me. The hotel reminds me of the European efficiencies with a small footprint, but essentially all you need. I had the mini/budget queen.

The floor space for the mini/budget queen was tight around the bed but enough room to put my carryon suitcase at the end. My strong recommendation is for the hotel to include a hotel suitcase stand because I had to put my bag on the floor. If two people, maybe you can put the suitcases in the little hallway because it would be difficult to get around the bed for the mini/budget -- or just a cosy time! Not a dealbreaker but something to think about. Also, for the weekend I was there, the hotel was sold out, which was may be why my room was on the expensive side. I thought it was pricey for the mini/budget size. Again, it was a popular weekend. I would absolutely stay here again.

The location of this hotel, it was literally opposite the subway station called Porter and one stop from Harvard. The neighbourhood felt safe with plenty of eateries, bars and shops nearby. The friendliness and professionalism of all staff they were so kind to let me store my luggage early and delivered it efficiently to my room before my check In which was amazing service. The evening staff were very kind as to suggest recommendations and were very helpful. The room was large, clean and modern- A beautiful room. I loved that the hotel included access to the gym, which was a great way to start the day on an upbeat note as well as business facilities if required.

I wish that I would’ve been a counter or a vending machine to buy snacks and drinks from as getting in quite late and establishments were closed at that hour and I didn’t fancy going back out again. Additionally, if more affordable rates could be on offer especially on a Sunday night which I stayed on that would be highly appreciated as I know that this is the least busy evenings for most hotels.

Very clean rooms and friendly staff. Fantastic location with easy access to the red line and just a short walk from Harvard. Immediate walking distance from essentials like a Target, grocery store, a liquor store, a diner and tons of quality eateries.

My room had the smallest shower ever made. It was a scientific marvel that they managed to create a functioning shower this small. It also had no door but a thin curtain that would constantly billow inward, shrinking the already miniscule size of the shower. I'm not a terribly large person at 5' 10" 180, but I was constantly fighting that shower curtain like it was Doctor Strange's cape.

We recently stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful experience. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Our room was clean and functional, though it was on the smaller side. However, the overall comfort and convenience more than made up for the size. The location was fantastic—just a short walk from the metro and surrounded by plenty of great restaurants. We loved exploring the neighborhood on foot, and it was an easy stroll to Harvard Square, which added to the charm of our stay. The hotel also offered some nice perks, like a well-equipped gym in the basement and a water dispenser where we could fill our bottles or cups with hot or cold water, perfect for breakfast or throughout the day. While breakfast wasn't included, the amenities provided made it easy to start our day off right. Overall, we had a great stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a friendly, well-located place to stay. We would definitely return!

The hotel is perfectly situated to see Boston as it is so close to the metro (just across from the entrance). The room was very comfortable and spotless. Our room was a tight fit for a large suitcase and 2 carryons, but we made it work as there was extra room in the spacious bathroom. The price was reasonable for Boston (midweek). The staff were super friendly and helpful. Like most hotels in the area there is a charge for parking but the hotel has valet to make parking super easy. We would definitely return! We had a wonderful breakfast next door at Caffe Nero next door.

Modern and nice room. The bathroom is very nice with a great shower. Just opposite of the metro station. Very convenient, plus you can walk to Davis square where there are some nice restaurants and bars. Staff is friendly and they have a nice gym in the basement. Overall a good stay in Boston

The room is a bit on the small side. It is fine for 1-2 nights, but if you want to stay longer it is something to keep in mind. Besides that, there isn't a fridge or microwave. We knew that, but it can be good to keep that in mind.

I always try to stay here when I'm in town. The rooms are clean, comfortable, stylish, and large with nice luxurious bathrooms. All the details are done very well. The gym is small but top-notch in terms of equipment. The staff are always lovely and helpful. The location is perfect, right across from the T and a number of shops and restaurants (check out the Japanese restaurants in the Lesley University food court). If you like to walk, it's walking distance to all the shops and restaurants at Davis Square and Harvard Square.

Walls can be a little thin but it didn't bother me as much this time. The light from the thermostat was quite bright at night. Parking is expensive but we were able to park at Alewife and take the T over.

I stayed at Hotel 1868 for one night for events at Harvard. The hotel is super clean and recently decorated, and was easily able to accommodate my late check-in at 11 pm. Bathroom was nice, Wifi was fast, and location just one T stop from Harvard Square is convenient, plus Porter Square has some of its own restaurants etc. It's not super luxe, but it's really nice, and much better value than Harvard Square hotels which tend to be wildly overpriced.

I booked the smallest room category and there was just a tiny desk that also held the espresso machine, so it would have been difficult to work in my room. I would book a larger room category for a longer stay. Also, I love that they use large-format reusable bottles for toiletries, but there was barely enough shampoo for me and no conditioner at all. Inconvenient to discover this while already in the shower. Housekeeping needs to be briefed to check the fill levels, or they could switch to clear bottles so it's obvious when something is running low.

It is a superb location, 2 minutes from the Red Line and in a nice part of Cambridge. It was very clean and the staff were good. It’s a very simple model - room only, no food/restaurant but access to a microwave - but they do it very well. Everything felt well maintained and very clean.

We had booked the smaller of the two room options and it was small. Sound proofing isn’t great and you can hear people in the corridor. Our room was behind the lift and we could hear that too.
