"Genetti's" is a legendary Northeastern Pennsylvania hotel in downtown Wilkes-Barre – host to countless proms, weddings and other celebrations. Decor is definitely dated (looks the same as in the '90s!), but the rooms have been refreshed, bathrooms remodeled, beds are very comfortable, fridges in rooms, and the amenities are great – outdoor pool, plentiful breakfast, friendly staff. They put our family in connecting rooms at the end of the hall – perfect choice, without us even asking.

Only one elevator working – fortunately we were on the 2nd floor and took the stairs. On-site restaurant is not currently open, except for breakfast.

My husband and I came to hear a concert at the Kirby Center. It’s a quick walk across the street… talk about convenient!. We attend quite a few events at the Kirby Center and the Best Western Plus is always where we stay. I love this hotel. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, from the moment the front desk reception greets, until the cheery, “thanks for staying with us” when we leave. The complimentary breakfast is nothing short of spectacular! It always amazes me of the selection that is offered … hot, cold, light and comforting food selections. One can’t possibly NOT find a delicious choice to start the day. The wait staff is wonderful!. We’ve eaten dinner, at different times, in the hotel’s restaurant. The meals have all been first class and delicious! The hotel has an old elegance that is so unlike the generic cold and universal look of newer hotels. Our room was very clean, and the bathroom was spotless. I look forward to the next event at the Kirby, or just a trip to Wilkes Barre, for the opportunity to stay at the Best Western Plus.

The breakfast was fantastic. The food was well prepared and there was an attendant available. The banana-pumpkin pancakes were great. There were real china plates rather than paper plates, and also real cutlery. The breakfast was in the hotel restaurant, so a pleasant setting. The window (balcony door) could be cracked open to get fresh air. The hotel restaurant was closed but there was an excellent Italian one in a short walking distance. It was easy to reach from the highway.

The ventilation system (in room fan) went on an off during the night.

Loved this hotel! We used the bar for food as we had arrived late and Michael and Jake (?) were wonderful! The beds and pillows were just the best. Slept better than I had in days! Breakfast was wonderful, lots of choices and all were great! Staff quick to replenish things. All staff, including Jennifer, were so nice and helpful. We had stayed at this hotel maybe four years ago and didn't realize that until we checked in. The only negative was we didn't get the rubber ducky. They are a pet friendly hotel and were great with our furry angel. They hand out treats and bags for the walks. I love this place and would stay there again!

The building is older and you notice that but it is in the city center so it is expected. The hotel room was a tad small for us to get around with our wheelchair bound offspring but we managed as most parents of special needs children do. The only negative was we didn't get the rubber ducky.

EVERYTHING starting with Chris. He couldn’t be more helpful. It was a long drive for me with disabled family members. My car light wouldn’t turn off he helped with that. He made sure we had a handicap parking spot right outside the door!!! So many things he helped with. Give that man a raise The best we’ve ever met!!!

Staff extremely friendly. Great location. Facilities clean and organized. Kitchen staff top notch during breakfast.

Only 1 (slow) elevator working despite there being 2 elevators.. No sign on the other elevator so it is seemingly to cut costs? If the other elevator were temporarily out of order, maybe a sign would be good? Long waits and heavy crowding into elevator detracted from the experience.

Close proximity to the venue we were going to. Very friendly staff at the front desk and free breakfast was great! Kitchen staff was also very nice and kept asking if everything was ok.

Close to restaurants and venue so we could walk. And we even met the mayor of Wilkes Barre who was so nice and friendly.

Staff was super friendly and eager to help in any way. Room was very clean. Location was a plus. We walked to the Kirby Center, restaurants, and downtown attractions. Parking was secure and convenient. Full breakfast was delicious.

If it wasn't raining our day of departure, we would have loved to have stayed the day and walk around town. However, it was too sloppy and wet. But, that is mother nature's fault ... not the hotels.

Staff always very nice and Professional. The outside and inside is always clean, well maintained and tastefully decorated, The outsides is well lit with safety measures. The Christmas Holiday decorations always nice and on the 5th floor! The coffee area in lobby very nice and clean. Thank you

May be still improving the room we stay 5015 ( we have a small dog ). The putty patch on wall was not sanded ? Maybe going to repaint.. idk

Location was great, super clean and amazing staff!

On Sunday breakfast they allowed a local homeless person (he does a lot of cleaning up of garbage in the area which is great… however….) Into the breakfast area, who proceeded to take off his shirt and change standing next to the buffet. He was loud, yelling and very unclean touching all the utensils for the breakfast buffet. Overall incredibly off putting.
