Me and my partner chose Hotel Olympia for our short stay in London. Before booking I read the reviews carefully so I was prepared. Indeed, you get what you pay for. The place is extremely cheap and the location is absolutely fantastic. The room was tiny and falling apart, but it was clean and warm (we stayed for 5 days mid January). Small room with our own toilet + shower cabin. Everything, from the mirrors to the bedding and towels was very clean. Our window was facing the street and yet it wasn't too loud. There was a small kettle, some cups and instant coffe. The receptionist that welcomed us were nice. The internet wasn't the best, but it worked. I will be giving this place the maximum score on everything, since they were honest about everything on their page, and we had a very pleasant stay.

The internet wasn't the best. There were multiple internets to which you could connect to, but the signal was weak and it kept disconnecting often.

We stayed here 7 years ago, and this August 2024 when we booked again with them it’s completely different from what we remembered since they’ve renovated and updated the rooms. Back then, we were just kids, and the price was within our budget, so we decided to return because, after all, the position is very good and we only needed a place to sleep. We were surprised to find that the rooms have been renovated, making them much more comfortable and clean. The hotel is conveniently located, close to many attractions and well-connected by public transport, making it easy to get around the city. Breakfast is simple, there's a kettle and instant coffee to start the day. The bed is comfortable, perfect for a good night's rest after a day of exploring.

There were a few minor drawbacks, such as the lack of a hairdryer and a wardrobe, the overall experience was positive, largely thanks to the welcoming and helpful staff. Definitely a good value for the price!

Room was clean and tidy. With the facilities well maintained and looking like they`d recently been fitted or replaced. Location is ideal for central London with the tube and railway station within easy walking distance .

You certainly get what you pay for with the room being basic with no frills or comfort just a bed and a small table being the only furniture. The only place to hang cloths is using a couple of coat hangers on four coat hooks attached to the wall. The street side rooms can be noisy , especially on the lower floors, as the traffic outside is constant all day and night!

Stayed here with 2 friends for 2 night, our room had one single bed and one double, a lot more spacious than pictures show so don’t let them put you off. Towels, shampoo and soap all provided. Great location with lots of nearby shops, food and Earl’s court station is just a couple of minutes walk away. Would definitely stay here again when visiting London!

The air con in our room did not work. Weather was 24° when we stayed and being on the top floor got quite hot. Also we got one towel each for the entire time we were there. A daily change on towels would be good and maybe a bath mat in the bathroom as water got everywhere when having a shower.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was probably a 3 minute walk from Earl's Court Station and a walkable distance to some museums, shops and restaurants. The room was the perfect size for getting some rest. The bathroom was renovated and beautifully done with soap and shampoo included. Staff was friendly and ready to help when needed. What most impressed me was how quiet it was. Other than street noise coming in from the window, I couldn't hear any other guests or workers doing the renovation.

Only two things that I noticed were the sink was really small so the bathroom would get all wet, and a mini fridge would have been useful. Not deal breakers at all though, would definitely stay again!

Well, I arrived too early and was able to leave my luggage, they were super friendly. I obviously chose a room for a single person so it wasn’t very huge but it worked for me. The bed was nice and it was fairly clean! The bathroom was obviously renovated because it looked very new and I really liked it! The shower was amazing!!!!! The location was really central, it wasn’t too busy and the tube station is nearby, there’s lots of food & drink options. The tube station is also officially in zone 1/2 so when travelling to zone 1 it’s classed as zone 1 which made travelling cheaper! It’s also very close to all the tourist attractions. I stayed her for the eras tour so had to travel to Wembley, and that was a super good location the connection was amazing! There were renovating parts of the hotel but you knew that when booking and I was worried, but it didn’t bother me at all!! think they were mostly renovating during the day, but they weren’t loud at all and didn’t even notice

One thing I didn’t like is there wasn’t a cupboard to put anything away, no dresser or night stand. So that was a bit unfortunate, there was a little table where they put the tea & coffee so I used that to put some stuff on.

Location great Comfortable rooms Recently refurbished rooms Warm Great value

Air con/ heating unit in room is brand new but has been deactivated: probably would cost a lot in electricity. Refurbished rooms are great but rest of hotel is a bit of a car crash: unloved and not much care taken. Freshly painted walls but paint dripped all over carpets in the process. Nice mirrors on staircase walls but clearly never cleaned. The place could be really lovely. But bedrooms can’t be faulted and that’s the main thing. I guess at these prices you can’t have everything. Possibly the cheapest hotel in the area so a real bargain. I’d def stay again and recommend.

Certainly! Here’s your updated feedback: We recently stayed at Hotel Olympia, a budget hotel that offers great value for those planning to spend most of their time exploring the city. We were informed in advance about the ongoing interior construction. While there was some dust around the premises, it was generally tolerable. The room we stayed in was already refurbished and very comfortable, although the air conditioning wasn't working due to the ongoing construction. The rooms are small, but since we were out most of the day, it was perfectly fine for our needs—a comfortable place to relax after a day of touring. The room also had a good Wi-Fi connection and a TV, which made it easy to unwind in the evenings. We appreciated the complimentary coffee provided in the room, though it would have been helpful if bottled water for the kettle was also included. The staff were incredibly courteous and accommodating, even allowing us to check in early without any additional charges, which we greatly appreciated after our journey. Despite the minor inconveniences, we believe the hotel will be really nice once all the renovations are completed. The location is incredibly convenient, with easy access to transportation and shopping. The nearby bus stop offers direct routes to Notting Hill, which allowed us to take a spontaneous trip upon our arrival. Overall, we're willing to give the hotel another chance in the future, once the construction is finished, as we see great potential in this place.

There is an ongoing renovations. The AC was not working that time.

The room was clean, good looking & well equipped, with a TV that, unusually for a hotel, had a properly working remote. There were tea & coffee making facilities in the rooms & a properly opening window

A lift would have been nice but I can see how it would be a pain to install. The WiFi seemed a little undependable, I had my computer linked to two of the three provided networks and had to switch between them quite often as one or other would fail. The bed was made in a hospital style with the duvet tucked under the mattress all round & pulling it out also pulled the bottom sheet out, the curtains were tucked in there too. It looked smart but wasn't very practical. Also, the kettle wouldn't fit below the tap, not would the quite large glasses, so the mug had to be used to fill the kettle. The towels provided in the room were quite small, not bath towels.

Excellent location, really beautiful area. Very friendly and polite staff. Good basic accommodation, nothing fancy, a little shabby compared to an expensive hotel but clean new bedlinen, towels etc, toiletries and everything for tea-making provided - perfect for our needs. I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended for people who need a decent and simple place to stay in the capital for a very reasonable price and aren't after anything unnecessarily fancy or expensive. We were very happy with our stay (1 adult, 2 children).

It was surprisingly difficult to find number 49, as it is located off to the side of the square, near the main road, and doesn't look the same as the other house fronts. To future guests: don't worry, it is there, just keep looking!
