The hotel is very authentic, with a beautiful garden and realy magical energy. The owners are very nice and hospitable people. And location house is convenient. But without air conditioning in the room it is very difficult, there is intense heat in the spring. I would return to this place in a cooler period of the year!

It's very hot in the spring, the fan can't cope.

Location is in a quieter yet hip and well serviced area, 10 mins walk from busier/noisier Khaosan area. Restaurants, cafes, shops are very close. The location grew on me as I stayed longer. The house itself is unique, full of charm and mysterious history. Outdoor garden / terrace is fine to take a break. Vibe was chill.

Unknown at the time, I was allotted the only small and dark room in the house, which was extremely hot during the day. (Tip - ask for one of the bigger rooms: They look amazing! I think this would have changed my viewpoint, but I would stay at Villa again in less hot weather). Room was super hot and main fan was broken. Running water stopping on my final morning (no shower / toilet), exacerbated by the heat, was disappointing.

I love Villa Guesthouse. It's like time travel. Unique. A treasure in the old town. Lovely owners. Please keep it like this as long as you can. My home in Thailand. ❤️ Special place for special people!

In interesting place to stay. The small guest house is run by a brother and a sister, both elderly people, who are very nice and funny. They helped with everything one could need help with and were fun to talk with. I also enjoyed the semi-adopted cat, even if she was - as the brother told me - a bit too lazy to catch mice or bugs.

The beds really were hard, as everyone has already described. You need quiet guests staying with you, as the walls are thin.

We arrived late at night. At the end of a small corridor between houses we found ourselves in front of a large wooden door. To announce ourselves, we rang the old bronze bell swinging above our heads. Soon the gate was opened - not by the owner but by another guest, who was enjoying the tropical night underneath the floral canopy of the luscious garden, aided by an herbal cigarette. He guided us to the living room, indicating that we would find the owner there. As we approached the silhouette of the old bangkokian house, the warm smell of wood was all around us. We entered through the front door into the living room. Lit by the warm glow of several lamps, and filled with books and antique fans, it was like stepping back in time. As there was noone to be found - neither in the living room, nor upstairs - we sat down and waited in silence, listening to the crackling wood. (We hadn't noticed the second, smaller bell beneath the message board, that we could've rang to draw further attention.) For half an hour, we lived in absolute bliss. Rather than being taken aback by the receptionists absence at our announced time of arrival or giving in to our tiredness and post-flight exhaustion, the atmosphere of the house captivated us fully. It wasn't long after, that the owner, who may be one of the last true practitioners of biphasic sleep, awoke and handed us the keys to our room. The following morning we we're woken by the song of a myriad birds. Our windows were like frames onto an imagined paradise, with bright, pink flowers dotting a sea of green filled with tropical shrubbs, ranking vines and the voluptuous leafs of palm trees. Villa Guesthouse is truly one of the last sanctuaries amidst the urban jungles of Bangkok.

Great location, authentic feel, friendly owners. 5 minute walk from Khao san road but still has some tranquility to it. Don't expect too much from it but great value.

My room was situated next to some electric pump outside which made some noise from time to time. Bring earplugs just in case.

It‘s an old Thai town house with garden. Don‘t expect luxury, everything‘s very simple. You can use the kitchen for free. Owners are old but very friendly. The garden is quiet and peaceful. In walking distance to Khao San Road and the river boats.

Not suited for bringing someone for an ONS, haha.
