First time in Port Jefferson And the Dansford Hotel & Marina did not disappoint.The cutest Hotel ever adjacent to a area where you can walk around meet people and enjoy good food.The Hotel allows you to leave your car (min price a day) so that you can really take in the sites. So many places to grab either sit down or on the go food. But don't sleep on what the Dansford has to offer either; they're food is also pretty amazing...

The only complaint I would have is that the bed was not as comfortable the first night as expected, pillows could have been firmer but once you got used to the bed you were fine.

Port Jefferson is a lovely seaside town. Our location was wonderful everything in walking distance. Ferry terminal was right next door which made the travel super easy. Our room was comfortable and had a beautiful view of the marina. The bedding was very comfortable and the bathroom was nice.

We thought we were going to have a private balcony but since we were allowed to check-in 2 hours early which was great I guess we received a different room. The staircase to our floor was worn and a bit dangerous if you didn't take care it was an outdoor stairway All and All it was still very nice.

Great location right on the water in Port Jeff. Could see the ferry come and go from the room. Easy walk around the pretty town—lots of shops, restaurants, bars. Big room with upscale toiletries. Keurig machine and bottled water in room. Quiet. Comfortable bed. Cookies in the lobby in the afternoon, coffee in the morning. Free parking. Nice bar on site. Price wasn’t much more than a mid-level hotel on the side of the highway.

Taxes and fees. The initial advertised price was $145. Grew to $198.99 when you actually booked the room.

Danfords hotel is a lovely building located perfectly at the seafront. In fact, some of the nicest views can be had in their hotel-front garden where seating is provided. Check-in was quick and painless with a very professional receptionist. The rooms are either within the main building, or within a collection of buildings along the seafront adjacent to the main hotel building. My room was easy to find and felt very secure. The room itself was very large and spacious, but had been designed cleverly so as not to feel empty. The bed was incredibly comfortable, clean and well presented. The adjoined bathroom was large and bright, with a great overhead shower that had good pressure and immediate hot water. To top things off, I dined at the restaurant downstairs, which really impressed me not only with its delicious food but also its stunning sunset views. Overall I was very impressed, I can't imagine there is a better place to stay in Port Jefferson.

My room did not have a main light, likely due to the sloped roof. This was a very minor inconvenience and bright bedside lamps were provided.

Danford’s was recently renovated, the rooms are light and the wallpaper had a nautical theme. We stayed in the Galley Building, across from the main hotel, next door to the Fifth Season restaurant and our room had a working fireplace. We were received one complimentary log per day and paid $10 for any extras we requested, this added to the romantic ambiance of the room. During our second week, when we let the manager know we had terrible internet connectivity, and realized we had booked a room with the fireplace, she moved us to The Galley Building. There was a mesh router, and great internet connectivity so we were able to work from our room.

Initially our room was very cold, we were finally able to get someone to fix the heating. During our previous, stay the week before we were in the Driftwood building and had terrible internet connectivity. The main challenge we had was there was only one chair in the room and no real desk for working.

I like the location… We were taking our son back to college and decided to stay overnight… The place is extremely clean. It was very nice that upon check-in, they gave us a voucher to have two cocktails later, in their bar… Our room was just a regular standard room, but very clean a beautiful shower and a very nice continental breakfast the next day in the bar area it was perfect for our needs…

Proximity to the beach, nice balcony, beautiful fireplace, comfortable bed, good shower, very nice staff and reception.

Checkin at 4pm and check out at 11 am times are way too short. You hardly have time to enjoy the property. The plastic flower pot on the sink counter was dusty. For 5 hours gap cleaning, there’s is enough time to run it under the faucet.

How big the room was.had no problem with parking . . There is a nice park next-door. Lots of easy options to walk to for food and shopping.. the outside patio with the view over the harbor was very nice.

The only thing negative that I could say is that it’s a little weathered, but you expect that with older properties that are on the water.

The room was spacious, the beds were very comfortable, the showers have good pressure, the customer service was helpful, quick, and polite, Nice new wood look flooring, AC, the location was right near the water and the town, there were comfortable chairs and pretty flowers outside.

The outside walkway of our building needs to be redone because some of the wood under the outdoor carpet was soft near the steps. It was not unsafe because of the carpet, but it was off putting. The price of the room is very high for us.

This is the second time our family stayed at Danford's Hotel, and we loved the clean and comfortable bedding, and the Veranda with the Salty breeze filtering in from the Sound. The staff is friendly, caring and knowledgeable, and we really enjoyed our stay there. Pt. Jefferson is filled with lovely people and places to visit and to eat, and this is a great location for any visit.

Honestly, there should be a way to open the windows that are not on the 'public' side ~ for a sea breeze. Screens would be lovely so people can sleep with a window open. Otherwise, we really enjoyed the location, the lodgings and everything else about our stay. Thank you!
