Love the suite where we were staying! Gorgeous rooms along with a small garden area and as we were staying for a week, it gave us all a bit of space. I had 2 teenagers and a child with me, so this was ideal! Location was just beautiful and highly recommend the restaurant on site, the food and breakfast was delicious! There was also a local shop and fish and chip shop across the street which was really handy and reasonably priced. Also, the whirlpool bath in the bathroom was a fab bonus!

The bed in the front room (sofa bed) was fine for the 2 boys, but I think as an adult, I'd have struggled to sleep as the mattress was a little thin and the bed dipped a little in the middle. No complaints at all as the kids slept fine, but just an observation really.

Very spacious room that included a jacuzzi bath feature. Food looked good but didn't have any as had booked somewhere else. Bar area was really nice for a drink to end our evening.

Potentially my own fault, but I travelled with a friend (2 of us in total) and our room had a double bed and a sofa bed. The sofa bed wasn't made up as it was assumed guests would be sharing the double. I asked for the sofa bed to be made up and I felt like I was made to feel like I had done something wrong. I have learned from this experience and will always notify the accommodation in future. Bed was made up promptly though afterwards.

We had a lovely stay at the Golden Fleece Inn. There was a group of 12 of us and we chose the location due to the proximity of Snowdon and Portmeirion. The rooms were lovely, spotlessly clean with pretty views and we were provided with free bottled water. Staff were all really friendly. Absolutely fantastic value for money especially for a weekend in June. We pre-ordered a dinner on our first night and everything came out super quickly and at the same time, it was all very tasty. The beer garden was great in the sun and the restaurant and bar area were really well decorated. Tremadog is small but sweet, with a handy Spar and popular chip shop right outside the hotel. There was also a park nearby with a football pitch that we made good use of. Porthmadog is a 10-15 minute easy walk and Black Rock Sands beach was less than a 10 minute drive and one of the nicest UK beaches any of us had ever been to and surprisingly quiet for such a sunny evening. A really good find that we will definitely return to next time we’re in Wales!

The pub, restaurant, and rooms had a lovely safe atmosphere, which as a lone lady traveller was great. The room was spotless and tastefully decorated. There were many extras in the room (iron and ironing board, hairdryer, fan heater even a radio alarm clock in the bedside drawer if wanted with USB sockets) Because I didn’t book direct with the hotel I had to pay for breakfast but it was an amazing. Lots of choice and beautifully cooked. Food in the restaurant was generous and tasty. I never mentioned the fact that I am dairy intolerant (but do eat a little coz I like it) and they were very quick to check that because I ordered vegan ice cream I knew that sticky toffee pudding sauce had butter in it and offered me an alternative sauce.

The building itself was very cute and the room had a lovely window facing the road. The decor was nice with tartan features. The shower was powerful. It's a 25mins walk along the road to Porthmadog, but totally doable. Tremadog has a lovely cliff face just next to the main street. We had gorgeous weather and managed to enjoy the beer garden at the back. The staff were all really friendly and parking was around the square within a few meters of the front door. Quiet at night.

The bed was a bit too hard for me. The restaurant itself was more of a bar food, ordering at the bar etc. in hindsight we would probably have gone to eat next door, which looked nice.

This was a last minute booking to stay in the area an extra night, hence the price had been reduced to "budget" level, however the Golden Fleece is of a much higher standard that the other place I stayed at for the first 2 nights at the same price. Nice room in an annex across the road from the main inn, however another nice old building with character. Well equipped room, comfortable bed, good shower, and excellent pub food available.

2 minor points: Firstly the Booking.com description implies the Golden Fleece is near the centre of Porthmadog whereas in fact it is in the centre of Tremadog - a village just over a mile from the centre of Porthmadog. Secondly a lot of visitors come to this area for the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland heritage railways, yet no mention of this is made in the Booking.com text!

All the staff were really friendly, they accommodated us for dinner even though we hadn’t booked in advance as we arrived later than we thought we were going too. We also needed to leave earlier than check out time and the staff were understanding about this too! Our room was away from the main building so was nice and quiet and loads of parking outside where we stayed. Food was also delicious!!

There was a bit of a smell in the room when we first arrived, possibly a bit damp but nothing that ruined our stay!

The staff were very helpful and clearly well briefed and experienced in the hospitality industry. The food was great and plentiful with a broad variety of dishes catering for all tastes, freshly prepared and well presented. Very comfortable room overlooking the square.

Maybe I’m just a grumpy old git but wherever we sat in the restaurant/bar area we seemed to be assaulted by filaments. I’m a fan of exposed filament lights but it was just too much and there wasn’t any escape to enjoy a nice ‘soft lit’ drink in a comfy chair. The constant music was fairly loud and didn’t seem to be tailored to the time of day. ‘Ministry of Sound’ at breakfast just doesn’t feel right to start the day. All that said we had a great stay in The Golden Fleece and will definitely return and recommend.

The food in the pub was really great pub food, with a decent selection. I especially liked the breakfast. The family room was massive and the jacuzzi bath was a big hit.

Our only issue was we booked a family room hoping to accommodate the two of us plus our kids (aged 10 and 8). The second bed we knew was a pull out sofa but it wasn't really big enough for both of the kids so we had one of them in our bed each night. It wasn't the end of the world, but I'd say do check if you are booking the family room that it will be sufficient.

this 2 bed property we booked was absolutely perfect for a family of 3 adults, it was situated in a quaint little village, very quiet + relaxing, parked outside property which was a bonus, 1 minute walk from Golden Fleece, it was clean + tidy + had all that we needed for our 2 nights stay, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, comfortable beds, plenty of room + loads of condiments, I was pleasantly surprised, would definitely book again

there was nothing I didn’t like about the property, it was perfect
