Everything! Beautiful old building tastefully renovated and filled with Alsatian brocante/antiques; beautiful, spacious, super clean rooms with truly excellent beds; super nice and helpful staff with highest level of professionalism; superb dining in their Michelin star restaurant (highly recommended!); equally fantastic breakfast with gorgeous pastry and home-made jams. Very nice terrace overlooking the large garden with old trees. Possibly one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in!

The Auberge has a very nice ambiance, quiet and cozy, with helpful staff. We had a chance to have the spa area only for ourselves, it was truly great! Just perfect for a mid-autumn getaway. The homemade breakfast was also tasty, exactly what was needed. There’s also a beautiful friendly kitten on the property :)

The trip was not planned well in advance, so we didn’t book any restaurant in the town, and even though the lovely receptionist recommended us a place for dinner, we were not advised to call and book or check the availability, as it was Saturday evening. Our lack of planning indeed, but an advice on checking the availability before driving there would be great

Wonderful hotel beautifully furnished with local porcelaine, very stylish. Very nice garden and wonderful spa. With low number of rooms we had always privacy around pool or in spa. Excellent food in the restaurant.

Given the high level of the hotel and the restaurant I would expect staff be more caring. During the dinner I asked for English menu translation, waiter said someone will come and nothing happened...then they brought dessert menu and nobody came back to take the order...such mistakes should not happen in Michelin star restaurant..

Everything was just perfect! The staff was really friendly and helpful. We were traveling with our dog and the dog was really welcomed and even allowed in the gourmet restaurant. There is even a huge garden for the dogs to run around! The wellness facility is also really well maintained. The outdoor heated pool even has a view to the huge garden. And dont miss out the jaccuzzi on the rooftop. The restaurant dinner was fantastic. I cannot find anything to complain about our stay.

It is not cheap. But for special occasions it is worthy the money.

Because 2 of jan the restaurant was closed we were advised to visit Bistro de Casino, 5 minutes by car. In the dark not easy to drive, but on the parking in front of the casino building what way to go ? Finally the someone came to show us the way along three times deep down stares in the dark ! You better never advise this place in winter and rain. We found it very dangerous. The staf did not tell us te have a front door key coming back, so we had to nock on a window. Auberge Saint Walfrid is a lovely family-owned hotel with a one star fine dining restaurant. The historic building dates from the 18th century, however the rooms have been renovated to the highest standards. There is also a newer attachment to the original building from 2019, however our room was in the older part. Our room in the 2nd floor was spacious and had a bathroom with bathtub while the toilet was separate. Shampoo, shower gel, body lotion and conditioner were provided, as were bathrobes. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was amazing, and service impeccable. We had five courses each which we selected from the a la carte menu, but could as well have gone for one of the two set menus. The style of the restaurant is traditional and features local produce. The selection of cheese to choose from was impressive! Most of the staff are bilingual German and French, as is the menu. The wine list is extensive and also contains local wines from the Alsace-Lorraine region. Overall a great experience.

One minor suggestion would be to have a different light setup in the hotel room - the light in the hallway is motion-controlled and gets on at night when using the bathroom, this isn't quite optimal.

Great care and attention to detail was evident in all aspects of the property and the service provided. Wonderful artwork and pottery is on display in the public rooms and the bedrooms. Our bedroom was very spacious and well equipped, with a large comfortable bed, smart TV screen, tea / coffee facilities and minibar. The bathroom was similar, with robes, slippers and high quality products. The location was excellent - a peaceful setting a short drive from the main motorway with plenty of on-site parking. Highlight of our stay was the outstanding restaurant - the food and wine was superb and the staff were attentive and professional. For the high quality on offer, the prices were entirely reasonable. We opted for one of the tasting menus, which displayed an interesting range of ingredients, presented and cooked beautifully and full of flavor. Breakfast showed the same impeccable service, with fresh produce presented and made to order promptly. With so much to recommend, this will certainly not be our last visit.

A beautiful hotel with excellent facilities and fantastic restaurant. The room was spacious and the beds very comfortable.

The air conditioning was really inadequate for a large room with a western exposure that got the full summer, afternoon sun. It was a challenge to seep the room cool.

Bedroom was very large with very large comfortable bed. Good quality furnishings and bed linen. Lots of both traditional and modern artwork and porcelain from local industries and artisans. Friendly / helpful staff and a warm welcome. Exceptionally well presented breakfast with home made breads, patisseries and jams.

Dinner in the restaurant would be more for special occasions rather than for the overnight traveller so just check the menu on the website before making the booking and deciding where to eat. Other restaurants in the town are available about 20 to 30 minute walk.

We have stayed here several times over recent years when touring Europe. The auberge is quietly located and exceptionally well appointed in all areas. It offers a superb dining experience and breakfast is also excellent. The staff are friendly and attentive.

Only a minor thing but our newly refurbished room had bright automatic lighting which came on if movement detected. Not ideal if getting up at night to use the bathroom ! Could probably have been deactivated when we checked in if we had realised.
