We were upgraded to a sea view automatically as they had spare rooms on the front. We asked for this at a previous hotel & was declined ! So big win here. The bedroom was very comfortable with a large balcony overlooking the gardens with a great view of the sea. Complimentary Nespresso in the room gets a thumbs up from me. The dining room decked out like a cruise ship looked 5 star. Breakfast was excellent both days - Caroline was great. Although I booked knowing there was a spa, I didn’t expect that! :-) Location to golf, beaches & beachouse was fantastic . The Village Inn was a bonus venue & very comfortable. An alternative for food or a drink. Loved the decor & roaring log fires through hotel. Plenty free parking. I can only imagine, in the summer the outdoor facilities are a big hit with families. Don’t worry we’re coming back!

Very disappointed with the evening meal in the dining room. It was a special occasion (although we hadn’t made a fuss about this). When we came to order our main courses (there were 4 of us) two of the dishes were not available and there was one portion of lamb left. I ended up having a dish I didn’t want and my wife had the lamb which was disgracefully tiny, hardly a slice. This was most disappointing particularly at the prices charged. In contrast the meal we had the night before in the pub was plentiful, delicious and half the price.

A lovely hotel in a beautiful setting with a view of the sea. It has a friendly feel with nearly all the staff saying hello and smiling. Everyone was keen to answer any queries we had. The bedroom was spacious and clean with a large balcony and chairs to sit and take in the view. The spa facilities are very good, we both had a massage which was expertly done. The food in both the restaurant and the pub was excellent, we will definitely visit again.

Breakfast was great - lovely buffet and cooked options very nice too, Caroline was lovely with the children. Room was fantastic ( sea view suite) for family - lots of room and everything we could need. Really comfortable which was a relief as it rained a lot and we were inside more than we might have expected. The 'family kitchen' next door with facility top re -heat food /drinks and even do washing if needed - is an amazing help and the playrooms were an unexpected and fantastic addition to the accommodation.My boys ( 6 and 10) adored the 'big rollers' room and it made a wet stay really straightforward. The indoor pool with hydrotherapy pool and thermal suite was the most fantastic facility my family have experienced at a hotel and we really enjoyed it. I had a spa treatment whilst at the hotel - with Ali - which was excellent, Overall an amazing stay, Thankyou

Just a small thing, the towels in the spa were very small. The lighting in the bedroom, difficult to see to put makeup on.

Proximity to the coast, pub next door, Rock Pool Cafe was an enjoyable day.

Overpriced, we had stayed in hotels across Europe and UK before teaching this hotel which in our opinion offered better value for money. tired appearance, down very narrow lanes.

The outdoor pool & bar, 9 hole golf, view from our room of Thurlestone Rock, excellent food and staff that couldn’t do enough for you!

kids menu only available until 7.15pm in restaurant.

All good. Access is via narrow lanes so be prepared to deal with these.

Parking spaces could be a few inches wider.

Beautiful view! Great staff — all friendly and helpful. Clean, comfortable room. Pool….situated with view. Delicious duck liver pâté.

Decor is tired and worn. Food just ok. No beach chairs to borrow.

The room with balcony and sea view was fantastic. The pool and facilities where very good. All the staff team where very helpful, polite and helped us celebrate our anniversary in style . Thank you.
