This was truly a great hotel, food was excellent and great choices on the buffet and menus for dinner. I would have preferred to have a shower only room due to a disability but we managed. your staff were excellent and very, very helpful. My family loved it and my granddaughter and niece who stayed with you previously highly recommended your hotel/resort. We will be back. Thank you, and thanks to your staff.

A shower instead of a bath tub due to a disability

The place looks amazing. So nice to transform the historical building into a luxurious chic Spa hotel but without being too pretentious. Personnel will do their best to make you feel at home. If you look at the old photos of the building before renovation you see how cleverly to transformed the place beautiful. The wines, cheese and condiments they sell are vey nice and we loved the wine tasting. Also the call upfront our stay. Clever.

It is an huge old building and not easy to maintain spotless, so here and there it could have been better cleaned or fixed but it will not take away your feel for the beauty of the place. Shower in a bath with a curtain is not very comfortable, but some might enjoy a bath in the beautiful bathroom. We fully enjoyed our room with terrace at the main building with a nice view.

Everything was perfect! The room was spacious. The beds were comfortable. The food was delicious. The staff was helpful and kind. The grounds were gorgeous.

Breakfast very good choice including freshly cooked eggs of your choice. Lunch was very good. Wine as expected was up to a good standard. Dinner menu good and no complaints about quality. Room was spacious with good privacy even outside. Wine tasting was informative and enjoyable.

Nothing we didn't like - the room could have been slightly more elegant and preference would have been for a shower unit in preference to shower over bath but this is nitpicking in the context of the nature of the property and its tasteful conversion into a hotel.

The room was big but not luxurious. The bathroom was rustic but basic with a shower above the bath which was unnecessary for the size of the bathroom. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, especially in reception. The breakfast was superb. Excellent choice of fresh foods. The whole building and grounds are beautiful. We had an interesting wine tasting which was free of charge.

The food in the restaurant was not good. There was little choice especially as a non meat eater. The meals of fish and shellfish that I did have were very poorly executed. Having said that, my sister said her steak was one of the best she has ever eaten. The wines produced by the vineyard were lovely.

The setting was breathtaking. We were slso warmly welcomed with a fruity glass of wine. Breakfast was superb.

We expected to chill out next to a pool but sadly they didn't have one, though the photos suggest there is an outfoor pool.

Fantastic setting, easy parking, the porter's welcome, the food quality in the bar priced reasonably, the choice of cosy lounges/terraces, the extensive breakfast, the nesting storks.

Lack of courtesy and rudeness by the manageress in reception at departure, the waiters and catering staff during breakfast were rushed and showed signs of irritation with customers. The 2 points mentioned above left a slight bad taste which is not acceptable considering the cost per night. Also on arrival at 17h10, after being offered the opportunity of the wine tasting, we were then told we were a few minutes too late - no concession, which was disappointing considering the cost.

A stunning secluded property, hidden away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The staff (both reception and restaurant) are very friendly and helpful, and certainly make your stay more pleasant. We originally booked for a 1 night stop over but extended for 2 additional nights as we were blown away by this hotel.

We wish there was more walks on foot from the hotel, by the river, but they were mostly a short drive away.

Sympathetic setting. Good location for Salamanca. Very good restaurant. Excellent wine tasting presentation. Very friendly team and helpful.

Room a bit too basic with poor lighting and basic conditioning which didn’t work.

This is a great hotel, well worth a visit, we stayed en route by car from the Algarve back to Santander for the ferry home. The food is great, wonderful cured meats and cheeses, a great atmosphere, wonderful , helpful staff, it's a great place and we thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

The weather was awful! - not the hotel's fault !!
