We've had an absolutely wonderful stay at Berghotel Friedrichshöhe near Sächsische Schweiz! The location was simply breathtaking, offering a stunning surrounding area. The hospitality was top-notch, and we were particularly impressed by the indoor pool and spa facilities, which provided the perfect relaxation after a day of exploring. Highly recommended for a memorable getaway!

In general, we really liked the breakfast buffet. The variety of egg dishes was a nice touch, but it would have been even better if they provided labels with the ingredients for each meal, as the offerings changed daily. Additionally, offering milk alternatives would have been a thoughtful addition to accommodate different dietary preferences.

Overall the stay was really nice. First of all the town is very cute with great hiking possibilities. The hotel is very clean and the staff was always very friendly. Breakfast was amazing and there is a pool which can be used by kids which was great after a long day of hiking.

Nothing that I didn't really like, but would have been nice with a fridge in the room to keep hiking snacks cool and maybe a bit more variety on the dinner menu ( we did not book half pension fyi) although I will say that the food was homemade and good.

The staff was very friendly. The room and bathrooms were very clean. The breakfast was very nice.

The steam room was broken (for a while, apparently.) Also, the jets/fountain in the swimming pool didn't work which was a pity because I was looking forward to that. Although the breakfast was very nice, the coffee and juice was not good.

Free parking, beautiful breakfast buffet, modern restaurant interior, clean room on arrival. Low pet charge 13€/night. Clean swimming pool area but mostly due to be low frequented in off season time. Quite a unique treat for that time to be open. Free table tennis and table football and other board games to rent out. Dinner portions were ok, price wise with the current economic situation in Germany understandable.

Towards the evening potential just temporary staff (for the summer months) was rushing to get home. That affected all ways how food was served, charged put on table. And taken off table. By a certain time it suddenly became very quiet in the hotel. The basic room had no fridge which would have been nice as there was enough space for it. Despite the charge for the dog no little treats or a doggie bowl were given in the room.

Hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Pool and Sauna were great. Breakfast and dinner had everything on offer that one could wish for. We got around by public transport which doesn't operate super often but if you plan ahead it is easy.

Due to a mistake from our end we received a wrong type of room yet the lady from the reception helped us to get a new room. Room was clean and spacious. WiFi working brilliantly. Sauna and pool are perfect for a moment of relaxation after a day of walking. And last but not least, the food is great!

The rooms are a tad old fashion and some minor restorations wouldn’t hurt.

The mattresses were too soft - resulting in back pain and no good sleep.

Can't go wrong with the breakfast, plenty of choice, I particularly enjoyed the fresh unsliced bread. I was allowed to watch the ENG v NED match on their large flat screen in the tv room otherwise I would have had to watch the game on the very mini tv screen in my room.

Very disappointed with the spare ribs, we asked the waiter if the ribs were lean or fatty, he said they were lean. One portion was only uncooked soft fat - no meat and not thoroughly BBQ'd on a hot flame, the fatty ribs were covered up with the thick BBQ sauce, that portion of ribs shouldn't have been sent out of the kitchen! Knuckle of lamb was small and only ok in taste.

The breakfast was really tasty as it was the dinner in the restaurant. The staff was very nice. The hotel is in a quiet village, surrounded by pine trees. We could drive around easily and also it was a really good thing that we could take our dog.
