Alpenhof Garnihotel is a family-run property, so do not expect there will be a 24/7 on-duty staff. It will take you 15-20 minutes walk to get there from Garmisch Partenkirchen main station. However, I had a very pleasant stay there: a neat room with a comfortable bed, a nice balcony, and a clean private bathroom. The hotel felt like home and I loved the quiet and calm atmosphere around there. The hotel provided me with a clear description of the late check-in procedure & very responsive to answer my requests/questions thru direct messages.

The staff will be there from around 7:00 - 19:00; so maybe it would be a bit inconvenient if you need any help from them outside that time. Do contact them as early as possible about late check-in or any other requests :)

It's our second stay in the hotel and I'm sure we will come back again. The location of the hotel is very convenient. Super close to the lifts, train station and ski lifts. The staff is always friendly and ready to help. Nice breakfast. It's pet friendly hotel that was very important for us.

There are no hot water kettles and no fridges in the rooms. I would suggest having a kettle / hot water boiler in the common area for the guests. Sometimes you just need a cup of hot tea/coffee. Otherwise, everything else is nice.

The room was cozy and had enough storage space. The balcony was very nice, we enjoyed sitting there in the evenings and just looking at the mountains. The shower was great. The staff was very very friendly and super helpful, with their help we changed our plans (on a rainy day), and had the greatest time.

The curtains didn't darken the room, which was uncomfortable for us. There was no kettle to boil water in the room, we did use the kitchen in the entrance, but this was not ideal.

Very beautiful and spacious rooms with high quality, individual interior design. Also the breakfast was excellent and left no wishes open. It was only a few minutes of walk to city center (make sure you stop at the excellent butcher you pass). But absolutely outstanding the very nice and super supportive owners, who helped us find a different hiking tour as we couldn’t do the planned tour due to weather.

Property was very clean and had great space in the room and bathroom. The porch was big and very useful -even had a view of the mountain! We enjoyed the extras like water in the room, chocolate on the pillow and wine and drinks in the fridge downstairs for purchase. The included Breakfast was also a plus.

The pillows were barely stuffed-need larger ones or two on each side of the bed. Also, need a shelf in the shower and hooks in the bathroom on and behind the door.

Location.

Spendthrift approach towards serving and maintaining Breakfast. Breakfast closing time was 10am but it felt like closed by 9:30am as they were not interested to re-fill the enough food items for 2 persons.

I used this hotel as a stop to go to Oberammergau to see the Passion Play. I stayed for two nights. The hotel has free wifi but I didn't see the password until after I left. There is parking outside the hotel - I don't know the rules for parking on the street, It looks like a residential street. There is no restaurant at the hotel but it is within walking distance to the centre of the town where all the restaurants are. The continental breakfast was very satisfactory with lots of options available.

It's not that I didn't like it, but more to warn people that the reception isn't manned 24 hours, it closes at 6pm. Unfortunate problems on the road meant I couldn't make the hotel in time to meet anyone at reception but I was told beforehand where my room key would be and it was there. I missed the wifi password but it was there when I left (might be a bigger problem for some people). I missed general information in the room as well, like when breakfast was and what time check out was. There was also a 3euro tax to pay too which I didn't know about but again, wasn't a big problem but people might not be aware. Also the blind in the bathroom is very see through haha!!

We stayed at apartment 1. Great location (quiet, close city center and Hausberg ski station), clean, comfortable bed, great shower, well equipped kitchen, big fenced garden. . beautiful view of the Alps.. The street has free parking and you can always find somewhere to park.. There is a nice little square close by to walk the dog..

Like others have mentioned, pillows could be thicker..

We got room on the top floor. It was cozy and warm, with balcony and view on the mountains. Breakfast was simple, but everything was fresh and well served. A bit far away from train station or city center, so you would need to walk c.a 20 mins one way.

Lovely house to stay in Garmisch, 20 walking minutes from main train station and some 13- from "city center". Quiet, recently renovated or redecorated, warm and secure location.

Bed mattress was way too soft for me, but that's the only disadvantage. Might be breakfast could have more choices and varieties, but this was great anyway.
