An excellent warm hotel just 150 yards from the beach, with fine friendly and helpful staff, a lovely reception area, very warm room, spotlessly clean bedding, ample space, ,and lift to all floors. Food very good, piping hot. good selection for 3 course dinner, breakfast self service with wide choice, hot plates and very hot food, fruit, cerials, fruit juices etc. All staff we met were friendly, hard working and helpful, particularly Lisa at Reception who couldn't do enough to help guests and is an excellent ambassador for all that is good at The Grand Atlantic Hotel, Weston-Super-Mare., So pleased we have booked to stay again in July.
We liked everything.

Fantastic room, great view. We were absolutely over the moon with our room, so happy when we opened the door and were treated to a superb sea view. I had not paid for a sea view but we were so happy when we found we had been allocated one. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Excellent breakfast , good choice of food, nicely cooked and piping hot. Staff very friendly throughout the hotel. Immaculately clean room. Comfy bed. Absolutely loved our stay, thank you.

Location is perfect right opposite the beach and near to the pier. We were bed and breakfast. Breakfast was buffet style plenty of choice all food piping hot. Choice of Cereal and fruit salad and yogurt. Tea and coffee earns with choice of teas. Nice little bar with plenty of seats if you want to stay in.
Water pressure in room, took a while for hot water to come through but nice and hot once it did .

This is an old building 200 years old. Many reviews pick faults, which, considering the age of the building is to be expected. We go on holiday to enjoy ourselves, not to spend the time looking for faults. We have been here several times in the past 12 months and have had a fantastic time. Everyone in the hotel from the cleaner's, the staff on reception, and the restaurant staff do a superb job. Many people criticise the food. We ate in every night and had the 3 course meal for £15 per person. We had no complaints about the food. Where in Weston-super-Mare would you find a 3 course for that price. If you want perfection stay at the Ritz and pay the exorbitant prices they charge. Unfortunately, many peoples expectations exceed what they are prepared to pay, so therefore must accept the consequences of their misjudgement. The other bonus is if you hand over £20 a day at reception, they will issue you with a card with £30 credit to spend on drinks in the bar. In summary, you get what you pay for, and the Grand Atlantic is excellent value for money. My only criticism is the lift has been out of action since April, and higher management need to get their act together and get it sorted out. There are many people who have disabilities and struggle to climb the stairs to their rooms. This is not the fault of the staff on reception, and it is so unfair that they have to take so much abuse for higher management's failures to resolve the issue quickly. Finally car parking is charged at £10 for 24hrs. Many people complain but they should be aware of this when they book as it is made clear online. Overall it is a fair price for 24 hrs and you can come and go as often as you like without having to pay. The multi story around the corner in Carlton street is £14 for 24hrs.
There was nothing I didn't like except for the lift being out of action.

The location was excellent near to the beach and main shopping centre. The staff were superb from the receptionists down to the cleaner's and restaurant staff. Excellent 3 course menu at a very reasonable price and a bar discount if you pay in advance. Plenty of car parking including disabled space at front of entrance with a chair lift to access the steps into reception. Car parking is charged at £10 for 24 hrs and you can come and go without having to pay.
The fact that the lifts has been our of service since April that has made it very difficult for anyone disabled or has mobility issues to climb and descend the stairs to their rooms. This is down to management and in no way should reflect on the staff who have had to take a lot of uneccassary flak and abuse which from what I saw handled it brilliantly.

The location of this hotel, on the sea front, is great and there is plenty of parking which is not included in the room rate but still good value and very convenient. The room was spacious with a lovely sea view, very clean and attractively furnished. The bed was very comfortable and the towels were soft and fluffy. The bath room was of a good size, modern and super clean. Great shower and the soap dispensers were very modern and efficient. The staff, without exception, were smiling, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was most excellent, good quality and lots of choice, buffet style.
A couple of small maintenance issues to report; the door knob into the room and the toilet roll holder were hanging on by “a wing and a prayer” and the vertical shower rail needs a firmer fixing. None of these things affected the enjoyment of our stay in the slightest but we thought you might appreciate knowing about it

We were upgraded to a large corner room, with a brilliant view of the sea front. While the room was battered by the wind it was really lovely. For an older building it was well furbished and didn't appear to be suffering it's age obviously There was always someone on reception whenever we walked by While there was a sticker on the bathroom wall that said the room would not be cleaned daily, it was. The bed was made and the tea and coffee was topped up.
Car parking was available, but a tad pricey. Had it simply been included with the overall cost it would have been great - but that is all personal opinion, The fact there was a car park was great, although I imagine in the summer it is difficult to get a space.

The check in was very pleasant. Parking was really good and the location excellent. Our room wasn’t ready upon arrival however, they dealt with our issue promptly and helpfully and gave us an excellent room
The night shift worker. We went out for dinner and came back at not an unreasonable time. He was quite aggressive about letting us into the hotel and very rude when giving us our room keys. Whilst I accept they may have issues with people trying to enter the hotel at night and that person was there for the security of the hotel they need to learn some basic customer service skills.
