We stayed over the New Year and had a fantastic time. Location is perfect right in the centre of the village so great for our walks. Staff were brilliant right from the moment we turned up, friendly, helpful and always smiles and polite. All our rooms were very nice, clean and warm and non of the group had any problems. Food was lovely both breakfast and evening meals. We were a group of 10 and appreciate it can be difficult to serve this many especially as the food is all freshly made, but there wasn't a problem and it was delicious!! All in all a great 2 nights away at a very busy time of Year

Nothing.

The pub is a lovely village pub, when we arrived the parking was easy to find and plenty of it, the village is a lovely historic village and I loved that the pub kept a traditional feel with pictures and plaques dotted around the pub with details of the history of the building and village on. The room was a lovely size very clean, bed was comfortable, There was tea/coffee making facilities in room. The little packet of traditional sweeties left on the towels on the bed was a lovely touch. And the biscuits left were delicious. The shower was amazing! And breakfast in the morning was a huge hit. When we arrived the pub was very busy but the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and very welcoming. The evening meal we had was absolutely lovely. the stay as a whole was a just 10/10 absolutely no complaints and we came away saying it was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had in the uk. The staff were fantastic and friendly throughout the whole stay. We even bumped into a lady who was working in the kitchen one of the afternoons and she was so incredibly friendly. The pub absolutely deserves to be a sell out every night. You can really see all the time and efforts they’ve put into running the pub as a team.

Nothing.

The welcome was genuinely warm and friendly, we were shown to our room in an adjoining cottage. The room itself was warm and comfortable, the style was exactly what you would expect of a country village inn. Comfortable bed, plenty of storage and the amenities needed were all provided, including tea & coffee, nice biscuits and some tasty sweets as a welcoming treat. The pub is old and beautiful - full of character, with a storied history; inside there was a great atmosphere with a mix of locals, residents of the inn, dog walkers and hikers. The staff were pleasant, informative and efficient, an excellent range of beverages including top quality locally brewed ales - Eyam Quarantine golden ale for me and Tempranillo Rosé for my wife. Dinner was very good, tasty, home cooked food, sensibly priced and not too pretentious, which so many pubs try to be. The young serving team were polite and efficient, the food and drinks arrived in good time. Breakfast was delicious, a small but adequate range of cereals and juice, plus hot beverages, toast and condiments. The full English breakfast was superb, we have never had a cooked breakfast served with everything so piping hot! All items were cooked perfectly and nicely presented in plated fashion. The selection was missing a hash brown or similar potato cake though! All in all, a lovely comfortable and relaxing stay.

To find fault, we need to be really picky to be honest. The shower temperature was a little difficult to regulate initially but okay once the controls were mastered. The room could do with some additional detail cleaning, but nothing off-putting. The TV was tiny but acceptable as we were not there to watch telly! You know it has been an excellent stay when the biggest complaint is that no hash brown is served with breakfast!

Fantastic location in the heart of a very pretty and historical village. The pub itself is lovely and the staff were all very friendly and we were made to feel welcome. The bedroom was a good size and nice and clean with biscuits and little bags of sweets in the room which were most welcome. We had a meal in the pub and the food was delicious. Good set up for breakfast and great full English selection cooked to order.

We were in a room overlooking the smoking area and could clearly hear customers talking (and swearing) and it did go on quite late, however we went to bed after it had stopped but would have been annoying if we wanted an early night.

We had dinner and breakfast. Both meals were excellent. The food was freshly cooked, well presented and tasted beautiful. Our room was quiet like we asked and the bathroom had lashings of hot water. The bath was a good size and the shower worked well. The room had teas and coffees plus biscuits and two lovely packets of traditional sweets. All round good.

We arrived on Monday night and you could not get into your room until 5.30. It was unfortunate that it was very cold and we had to wait in our car for a couple of hours. This information had been outlined in the information but we had missed it. So it was our fault but I do think 5.30 is a bit late for getting into a room. Especially in the winter.

The room was spacious, nicely decorated and furnished. Comfortable bed, water very hot towels white and very fluffy the whole ambiance of the pub was lovely and all the Staff were amazing this is a hidden gem of a place the drinks were spot on my husband is a beer ale expert and he said the beer has been kept really well. Now I’m a good expert and that breakfast was in my top ten all the food used was good quality and tasted exceptional as were the poached eggs amazing chef

The shower was poor but would not put us off coming again as the staff said they will address the issue.

Location, friendly staff, pet friendly, good selection of food and drink.and brilliantly cooked/ prepared. Large carpark, spacious bedrooms .

It would be nice to have a lounge area to chill in as the building is lovely. Although there was a separate door for access and egress via a steel spiral staircase on the outside of the building I had to carry both my dogs up and down the stairs to let them out for their early morning run should we say!! When the property was closed I should add

Great location, super friendly staff who were accommodating around check in time and leaving car in carpark. Nice breakfast, good quality produce. Beds in the twin were very comfy and room was just right temperature - needed the heating on but not stuffy in November. Pub itself is lovely village pub, food looked nice but we had a meal booked elsewhere. Nice atmosphere for a drink pre and post dinner! We would definitely stay again

Only a couple of minor points really. Room decor a bit tired, especially around windows where condensation is clearly a bit of an issue. Also pipes were very noisy all night whenever anyone in the place turned a tap on/went to loo, however very quiet village location so slept well overall

Absolutely bewtiful village, so interesting & like going back in time. Miners Arms was a great place to stay with a lovely atmosphere, super friendly staff & locals, great location, field at back for my little dog also made welcome. We had Lunch, dinner & breakfast all at the pub because the food was so good, huge compliments to the chef, excellent choice & cooked to perfection. Rooms were clean, lovely white towels & toiletries & drinks tray plentiful with biscuits & sweets , really lovely touch. Thankyou for all

Rooms very basic & could do with a little upgrade, bathroom was a little tired & looked dirty in shower crevices & bodged paneling, toilet very noisy & was loosely fitted but it was clean, just a little attention to detail I think.
